I Know I am Gonna Get Hate for This, But I'll Say it Anyway...

With all the girls we have had in this manga till date, I was always able to find some redeeming quality in them (in terms of the entertainment they provide in the series) despite how disliked they were initially, including Chiyo and Suu. A large part of it is that Nakamura managed to make every girlfriend interesting with something unique no other girls at the time had which made them their own unique characters, like Chiyo's young but responsible and Suu's autistic number girl gimmick. Unfortunately, for the first time I don't feel the same way with the newest girlfriend Fushida Rana.

My main complaint is that her entire personality feels a mix and mash of all the tropes we already have with the previous girlfriends and somehow it feels that she is worse than the other girlfriends at these already existing tropes. These comparisons make me ponder why do we even have her when there are already girlfriends who embody her tropes better than she does. Let me give examples to illustrate my point -

- Middle School Class Prez - Chiyo does it better committing more to being prim and proper and her 'rrgh' expression

- Competitive Rivalry and Sore Loser Attitude - Saki does it better with her girlfailure character as she cries and loses constantly to her junior Matsuri

- Busty Middle Schooler - Nemu is a busty middle schooler in her own right with added cute points and Meme is even bustier than Rana with her added vanishing gimmick when she is embarrassed

- Insecure and Shy about Her Body - Again, I believe Meme does it better

The only kind of unique things she has are her kinda sad backstory of being harrassed for her well-developed body and her calling out and being flustered about 'vulgar' things but honestly, these are not very interesting tropes in themselves comparing with what other girls can offer in the series and on top of it, her character design is not even that special. Hope Nakamura proves me wrong by adding some interesting facets to her character just like he did with Meme's erotic fantasies and Uto getting flustered and also adds a lot of interesting interactions with other girls to flesh out her character better as it is too early to judge. But for now, I can't help but feel that Nakamura kinda dropped the ball for this girlfriend by recycling the tropes we already have in previous girlfriends making her feel less special as compared to other girlfriends who are much more unique.

Are 'All' the Threatened Species Worth Saving?

I am a paleontology, ecology and evolution enthusiast and after reading quite a lot on these, I learnt the fact that species going extinct is not something new, it has happened since life came to exist and will continue to happen in the future. I also learnt about the concept of 'keystone species' where very few species actually are important for stability and maintenance of ecosystem and removal of the other 'less important species' does to matter much to ecosystem as the other species fill in their niches. With many threatened species I also assume that most of them are not ecologically very important due to their diminished/diminishing numbers and/or range. Also, given the resources allocated for environmental causes are very limited and needing to support many other causes which are seemingly much more urgent in my opinion like pollution control and restoration of degraded landscapes in the same limited resources, I also argue that maybe putting too many resources in saving species which are not ecologically very important and bound to go extinct should be allowed to do so by letting the 'nature run its course' with the same obviously implying that humans must also not actively try to destroy other species and at the same time put more efforts to identify and conserve the species which have a larger 'ecological impact'.

Although, I also believe that we have some reasons to invest in saving all the threatened species, three of those reasons being conserving biodiversity for 'future use' in case we can find some practical use for these species which we currently don't have, for studying them for better understanding their member and related taxa and finally, because my view up until now was very anthropocentric and 'selfish', saving the threatened species as a 'moral obligation' just because we humans have significantly altered the biosphere and our activities have lead to the threatening and even extinction of many species, and along the same lines we also have a responsibility to save biodiversity as being the only species which is intelligent and aware enough and has the means to assess the current state of biosphere and their impact on it along with having the means to actually help the threatened species.

So what do you guys think? Should we actually invest our limited resources and efforts in saving all the threatened species regardless of their 'perceived importance' or should we focus on the 'important species' and divert the other resources for more pressing causes?

We should try to bully small franchises like DC to trade their players like MI bullied GT!

Should we try and bully DC into trading some of their players?

KL Rahul is very good friends with Abhishek Nayar and has often atttributed Nayar to his success over the last few years. He has also stated that he would love to play under Nayar.

Tell Nayar to call Rahul and create a ruckus at DC to force them to trade him to KKR. If the DC taklu uncle does too much drama, tell him to call Venky Mysore, he will handle it!

Since we have more trophies and are bigger than them, one trade offer we can force the to accept is Cameron Green in exchange for Kamal Lajawaab Rahul, SmAshutosh and Madhav (Mahadev) Tiwari!

Which Players Who Underperformed this Year Should Be Retained for Next Season?

Although they had a subpar season this year, I believe that Kuldeep, Nissanka and Nabi should be retained for 2027 season. Kuldeep for obvious reasons as he is a world-class spinner with wicket taking ability. Nissanka is just 28 and already a regular 3 format player and opener for Sri Lanka. Despite not making as many runs and throwing his wicket at occasions, I would still back him as he is just 28, it was his first IPL and out of his 10 matches this season, he made four 40+ scores with 170+ strike rate showing he has the intent and potential to perform even better, which is better than what Porel could do in his 14 matches in IPL 2025. Finally, Nabi had two stellar Ranji seasons where he lead his team Jammu & Kashmir to their maiden Ranji trophy with 60 wickets 2025-2026 season. He could be deadly on pitches where ball has swing (Badani and company were stupid to bowl him on highway pitches where all pacers got belted) and needs a few opportunities in Test matches and world class coaching in BCCI NCA or one of its zonal academies. Finally, he can also bat well and provide a great batting option in lower middle order. It was a crime to not give him more opportunities despite getting him for 8.4 Cr and relying more on Mukesh and Natarajan even when they were not performing as he got only 5 matches this season.

I still believe that we have one of the best and most balanced squads in IPL, we just need to make a few changes, like release Badani, Munaf Patel and all the subpar coaching staff who have consistently failed to strategize well, read pitches and provide playing opportunities to young talented players like Madhav and get better replacement like Ganguly as head coach, Zaheer Khan or Ashwin as Bowling coach and if possible, it will be absolutely incredible if we can get Jayasuriya as a batting coach as he completely revitalized Sri Lankan national cricket team (imagine Jayasuriya-Nissanka coach-player combo in IPL 2027 for DC). Also remove Axar from captaincy as despite being a great player, his easygoing attitude as a captain is not going to win us many matches. I still believe that KL Rahul should take up captaincy as he is a very experienced and serious player who has the temperament to win matches, with the only concern being that he does not perform well under pressure and in chases where he needs to work on himself (which I believe he can as seen by his improved strike rate this season showing he can self-introspect work on his weaknesses). Finally, we need to back and give more chances young players with high potential like Rizvi, Nigam and Tiwari instead of experimenting too much with player combinations, not drop players after 1 or 2 subpar performances and let go of consistently underperforming middle aged players like Mukesh and Nair.

Need Your Opinions on This...

If LSG releases Rishabh Pant for next mini auction, he gets back in form over the second half of this year and is somehow available for less than 15 Cr (which could be made up by releasing Mukesh and Natarajan as we have good Indian pacer options in Madhav and Nabi already), should DC Buy him back and give him another chance? Also, should Shaw be given another chance as an opener in DC if he comes in form? Personally, I believe both Shaw and Pant should be given chances next season if they come back in form, not only because they have the potential to perform as we have seen in previous seasons but they are DC blood and have attachment to the franchise. I see Shaw as a great opener with someone like Nissanka (he also has great potential to do well in Powerplay if he works on his shot selection and not throw away his wicket early) if he works on his weaknesses like short bouncers along with KL at #3 and Pant at #4.
