1:7 twist 6.5 creed? Worth it?

A buddy of mine shoots PRS and talked about home some folks in the PNW are shooting 6.5 creed or 260 rem with 7 twist barrels. I primarily shoot gas gun and recommended that to me to shoot the 153.5 and 156's. My worry is magazine length and with the reduction in speed, if i'd even reap the benefits at all. I did the math on 144 bergers going 2700 vs 153.5 going 2600 which is what i was told would be approximate averages for those in my 22" and the elevation adjustment would be less for the 144 than the 153.5, windage at 1000 and 1200 with an estimated 10mph cross wind was almost identical, same with velocity and kinetic energy at those ranges too so splash would be similar. I normally shoot 140-144's out of a 7.5 twist. Is there any need to change?

Direct thread or QD?

I'm working to start providing precision gas guns to the north AL and TN area in the next calendar year. I'm mostly catering towards the PRS and field rifle match crowd. One question I have is regarding muzzle devices and suppressors. I know many competitors use a can. For those that do especially gas gun guys, do you prefer a muzzle device or direct thread? What eco system do you prefer if you go muzzle device. If you go direct thread do you prefer to thread lock your DT hub adapter?

VSeven Harbinger receiver fitment

I saw a post a while back saying with a mega arms maten lower, tthe vseven upper was a very snug fit. Has anyone built off a compete harbinger set? Or has anyone bought one of their complete AR-10's? How was the receiver fit and was it a thermal fit barrel setup?

Mega MML

Are there any place that has these in surplus? I know the MML was discontinued by Zev, but I still see some MATEN lowers being sold.

4.6 guys, what holster do you use?

I don't like light bearing holsters as i don't use a light for competitions. What holster do you guys use whether it's an atlas athena, race city core, or whatever flavor of 4.6 2011 you use?

Grip question

Does anybody have any experience with these grips? I saw another user on this sub Reddit talking about them and I like how it works but I wonder if anyone else has any experience that can compare it to something else in terms of traction?

Go to gusmith installed barrel

For those upgrading an existing pistol and want to replace the barrel, who is the go to? I've heard Kart, nighthawk and others.

Question to the gunsmiths and rifle makers in this subreddit

A friend of mine and myself just got out FFL and we will be building and producing precision gas guns here in AL. We are looking at vortakt 400 and 500 series barrels for an OEM for blanks. Do any smiths or manufacturers here have experience with them and can provide feedback?

120gr berger COAL

For those using the new 120gr hybrids, what is your COAL on average for 6 creed? Would it fit in a 2.875" ar-10 magazine?

MPA in 2026

Been off in left field in the PRS gas gun side for a bit now and wanting to get a new bolt gun. I saw the new chassis MPA has for their PMR rifles and given I can get one made for around 2500, I was curious if MPA rifles are still worth getting in 2026 with all the other rifles on the market like the seekins HIT Pro m3 and such?

insert obligatory "which should I get" title that I'll get made fun of in the comments section for

OK so my birthday is in september and I want to get my first nice(er) 2011. I currently shoot a hotrodded mac 9 ds in limited optics. It does alright and does what i need it to do. But for an upgrade i'm debating between a 5" MPA DS9 hybrid, all black with an aggressive aluminum grip, non ported or comped, or an RCD CORE 4.6. Both are similar in features. I get 15% off mpa with mil discount and no discount for the RCD through RST.

To the guys that know their shit, if you had to choose, which route would you take?

barrel extensions

So might be a slight off topic though can be applicable for long range. For those who chamber their own AR barrels, is there a preference between JP and triune precision barrel extensions, especially for ar-10 barrels?

top dog of the $3k and under

Obviously with the Tac Comp release, that adds another player to that price bracket along with the RCD CORE 4.6. But I know they're 2 different guns. One is more bare bones but potentially better fit and internals. The other is ported and comped. Ones more for limited optics the other is more an open gun. What are ya'lls thoughts on these 2 in that 2500-3000 area?
