Going from 4wd back into 2wd

Wondering if it’s normal for the transition back to 2wd to ‘lag’ a bit. Ngl I heard a big clunk and it seems to be back in 2wd now but my truck seemed to be jerky for a bit until I got it back.

Is this normal?

Recommendations for coveralls?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for high visibility coveralls. Something lightweight. I love working in coveralls and have a fire rated pair but it’s a bit too thick and heavy for my new job site

Thanks!

How can I get crispy skin on my chicken wings?

Hey yall,

I did some chicken wings today. First time. Cooked until 185F internal which was about 45 mins. Cooked solely on indirect

I sprayed them with olive oil every 10 mins hoping to keep some crispy skin but wasn’t as crispy as I hoped. Only parts that were crispy were pieces closest to the bone. Is that expected if you don’t deep fry or did I maybe spray too much olive oil?

Wondering what you guys would do. Also I glazed them 5 mins before they finished

Recommended all season tire for these Ecco’s?

Hey guys. I got a 3” lift. Currently have all terrain 31s. 265/70R16.

I was wondering if anyone would recommend an all season tire. Looking for something narrower. Easier to move on pavement. I’d like to put them on the eccos.

Thanks!

Marco Pierre White’s sous vide chicken. Has anyone tried this?

Came across this in his book: The Devil in the Kitchen. I was wondering if anyone’s tried this and what they thought of doing chicken this way

How do I keep my coals from ashing over so fast?

Hey everybody,

I just wanted to know if my coals should be looking like this at the beginning of a cook or if there’s too much ash. I’m doing a picanha and did a sear first then moved to indirect to cook. My workflow was like this:

  1. Fill the charcoal chimney 3/4 full (I’ve done a full chimney but found it’s too much charcoal). Light it up
  2. Once there’s some fire coming out the top I dump them into the baskets
  3. I put the top grate on and let it get hot while my lid is off
  4. Sear picanha
  5. Move to indirect

and put lid on

I’m using Weber’s charcoal.

I’m newer to charcoal grilling and not sure if my charcoals are too ashy for the start of a cook. What do you guys think? Is there anything I can do to improve my workflow or it’s pretty normal?

Any advice would be great 🙏 thank you

First time picanha cook

Man the fat is like butter. I regret not letting it rest longer as I lost a ton of juice when I cut it 🤣

Does LC eventually bring the new colours to other cookware?

Really loving Berry and would like to start a collection. The only LC I have is a flame iron skillet but reaaally wish they had it in berry – they only have it for the Dutch oven and braiser

In search of a storage container for herbs

Hey everyone,

My fresh herbs are all over the place and I’d like to get a wide container with shallow depth/height. Maybe something like 0.5”/1” max as I’d have the herbs all in a row on one layer, with some damp paper towel to extend their life.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations and whether to go: glass, polypropylene, plastic, whatever. I’m assuming BPA free is a good call these days.

I’ve searched online but can’t really find a size I want as the containers that have a good length and width are often pretty deep which would take up a lot of space in the fridge.

Any advice would be great 🙏

Slow in anyone else’s local?

2nd year apprentice here in 353 where the list is at around 230. Job finished up recently and have been on the list for a couple weeks.

How sustainable is this career? Is it normal to work for a few months of the year then get laid off for a while on repeat? How do people with bills make it work in the industry? I’m still living at home but something I’ve been thinking about when I eventually move out in 2-3 years

Chipotle-glazed chicken thighs on the master touch

Newer to cooking and the family was impressed w the chicken thighs 😋 marinaded, seasoned, then glazed at the end

P.S: anyone have any tips on why my chimney is taking a while to get the top coals lightly ashed? My chimney smoked for like 20 minutes but I swear I’ve got my chimney starter going in 10 before.

I will say I usually use Weber briquettes and just tried kingsford

Couple issues I’m wondering if anyone’s has

Hey everyone

I’m having a couple issues with my 1999 XJ that I wonder if anyone else has had

  1. ‘Check Gauges’ light: as soon as I turn my truck on my oil pressure reads 0. Doesn’t gradually go to 0. Truck runs fine and no weird smells at all. Just happened randomly today

  2. When I’m turning left or right the wheels fe a little jerky rather than a smooth turn

Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Anyone got an ID on this door seal

Hey everyone,

This door seal fell off and I’m not sure if I should try to fix it or just get a new one. I try to be handy so I was wondering what steps I should take to get it fixed. If it’s better to just replace it, would anyone know what they call this thing on say, rockauto?

Thanks!

Any recommendations for a rotating grate?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for a rotating grill grate. I just got the 22” Weber master touch. This seems like a pretty handy grate to have on hand

What do you think?

Why do I keep straining this area of my back?

Hey guys,

I’ve been golfing for a couple months now. Every time I golf I find myself developing pain under my shoulder blade, deep within my back. I’m a lefty, so the pain would be deep on my right side

At first I found it tough to breathe. After a few weeks I was feeling 100%. Went back to the range, had soreness in the same area of my back.

Is this normal? I noticed the pain at its maximum after the downswing, when twisting to finish off.

I don’t know if taking a few days off between every time I golf is normal practice, or there’s something wrong with my swing.

If anyone has any advice or has experienced something similar, let me know 🙏
