Anyone here switched from Runway to capcut video studio

Thinking about making the move. Been on Runway since Gen-3 and the output is good but between the cost and having to edit in a separate app I'm wondering if the all-in-one approach makes more sense.

People who've actually switched: how does seedance 2.0 compare to Runway Gen-4.5 for your actual use case? Not benchmarks, real projects.

YSK that homeowners insurance doesn't cover food spoilage from power outages

Filed a claim after losing about $1,200 in fridge and freezer food during a long outage in Pearland TX and it got denied. Called my agent to understand why and apparently standard HO-3 policies exclude food spoilage from utility service failure.

It's only covered if the outage was caused by a covered peril that also physically damaged your property, so basically your roof has to come off too for the food loss to count.

He said I could add a food spoilage endorsement for about $35/year but it caps at $500 which is less than half what our worst outage cost us. We had 3 outages last year totaling about $1,800 in food that would've been completely prevented with a battery station keeping the fridge running.

At this point I'm looking at backup power as self-insurance for a loss that's genuinely uninsurable through normal channels.

Retirement account that cannot be touched penalty free for a few more years, does it still count in an asset depletion calculation?

Early 50s with a strong 401k balance but technically still a few years away from penalty free access. Trying to figure out whether lenders count that full balance or apply some kind of discount because of the access restriction. Makes a real difference in how the qualifying numbers work out.

Has anyone measured actual output on the anker prime 160w charger

Watched Anker's Q&A video where someone asked if their products are actually better or just marketing. One of their staff said their actual specs exceed what's advertised and that users have verified this with power meters. I have a USB-C power meter sitting around so I might test mine. Has anyone here already done this?

power solution for full day outdoor shoots

I shoot corporate video on location and my MacBook Pro dies about 4 hours into a review session. I also need to keep my phone alive for tethering and communication. Looking for a power bank that can charge my laptop at full speed and still have capacity left for other devices. What do you use on set?

What's the one thing you'd improve about capcut video studio

Been using this since the beta and I have my own list but curious what other people think. For me the biggest thing is the credit refill speed. Weekly refill means if I have a productive day I hit the wall fast.

Also the canvas gets cluttered once you have 20+ assets on it. Some kind of folder or layer grouping would help a lot.

What about you guys? What would make this tool go from good to great for your workflow.

Thinking about styling this corner and this odd cabinet. Does it work?

This is a cabinet I just bought and I really liked the finish. That burl texture holding this cabinet is really insane. In certain light it practically looks gold-leafed. I like it, but my family thinks it looks too raw; like untreated wood.

Maybe it’s not the piece itself but the styling around it. So Im thinking maybe a few thoughtful accents like warmer lighting, one or two decorative objects would help the cabinet look less haphazard and more intentional while allowing that wood texture to take center stage.

I quickly made an AI image to show what I had in mind. Would appreciate hearing if anybody has recommendations. Does it work for this corner?

Can the Anker E10 automatically trigger a Generac standby generator? (2-wire start)

I am planning to pull the trigger on the Anker E10 with the Power Dock. I already have a Generac standby generator installed at the house, so I definitely do not want to purchase Anker's proprietary DC generator.

I can't seem to find any clear info in Anker's documentation about whether the E10 can control the Generac automatically using a standard 2-wire start system. Basically I want the Generac to kick on and recharge the stack once the E10's state-of-charge hits a certain low point.

Has anyone actually done this with the E10 or even their older systems? Thanks.
