Only ski resort in Colorado to close from too much snow in the 1950s
This is part of a ski lift on Baker mountain in Colorado. Closed because they couldn't keep the road open.
Worth doing a uranium claim part 2
I know some people were skeptical about the find I posted last week since it was one rock. I have more pictures of what appears to be uranium ore (boulder sized). Still waiting on a geigor counter before making a claim.
Worth doing a claim for uranium?
I was out prospecting and found an area with lots more uranium ore. Did some test holes and found boulder sized yellow ore like this.
Getting texts after copyrighting songs
Anyone else have this issue? Copyrighted around 12 songs and have gotten texts for like a year plus non stop. Of people asking are you the author of such and such song?
Like wtf does the Copyright office leak info to marketers or how do they get it? Kind of annoying.
10,000 year old native American quartzite quarry in Colorado.
This is an archeology site called Windy ridge (videos in comments). They mined this mostly in the past 1000 years for quartzite to make tools. But they found Clovis points and archeologists believe it was a quarry 10000 years ago. They estimate that due to the mining the ridge is three feet lower than it should be. They removed the sandstone to get to the quartzite. Over one hundred pits on the ridge like the ones showed here.
First major bear encounter while inspecting pan with jewelers loop
Went prospecting down a new creek with a friend. Made it about 3 miles up creek. Stopped and had our MREs. Started panning and was inspecting my pan.

My friend Started calling my name in a panic. She was about 5 feet from me. I looked up to see a young black bear going to grab our packs.

Not sure why I responded this way but the bear spray was on the pack. I ran for the packs and luckily it turned and ran as I ran for the spray. It was maybe 10 feet from me and the pack when it turned and ran.

Learned to keep my spray on me lol. I also kept looking around the rest of the day and not face deep in my pan. If there was gold we did find it lol.
Found this fishing reel/rod trying to get a date estimation.
Unfortunately I broke it pulling it out. Almost gave up thinking it was another old can lol.
I work for a government agency. When I was a supervisor one of my guys was killed. We put up a memorial sign for him. Now they're removing it.
Can't give too many details for obvious reasons. But I had to inform his family the agency is taking it down due to "policy"

The memorials can only be up for so long. I know when I was still a supervisor and they told me to take one down I would just happen to forget. But what a shitty thing to have to tell the family.

Just one more reminder we are just a number. Don't give your life for a company. They wont remember you.
ID request, found in colorado Rockies (not near any historical places, mines etc. Just on a random mountain side while prospecting)
Found in colorado mountains on the side of a mountain.
So I was a life long Christian turned occult many years ago. Really after my NDE.
My daughter chose to be a Christian and I never pressured her one way or another. I read the Bible many times and know theology well. So I often spoke to her from the historical/theological side vs the spiritual side of Christianity.
My daughter is 17 and has chose to leave Christianity. She knows of my occult practices but doesn't show interest in the occult.
I was just curious how others feel about sharing their practice as parents? I've manly just tried to encourage my daughter to believe what she wants.
