Nov-Dec

Once again here asking of anyone on late December is still waiting or if we are getting approved?

12/26 here-API 6/09- nothing since.

I don’t see any movement on anything and I’m going crazy. Idk if to escalate this further, and even at that, idk if that’s the answer here. I’m scared. :/

Chat, am I going to wake up tomorrow as a bug??

This is more for those on the limbo unemployment life…

Any revelations of the self for yall?
Anyone familiar with the Kafka story?

I’ve always appreciated the “bystander” view in this society, this episode of my life no less.

Sending hugs and fist bumps to yall.

December squad check in.

This is for my December ppl. How are you today? Any thoughts you wanna share?

Myself:
This week I haven’t worked at all. Been waking up when my body tells me, drinking water, hitting the gym, cooking, yard work, hang out with the pets, small chores, old chores that needed to be done, waiting. Today I actually didn’t even check it till half hour ago. I am letting this week be, just for my sanity.
Trying to keep it together. Trying to not think too hard on it as that is additional suffering.

Dish is swordfish fillet in butter/garlic/lemon, sweet potatoes with some spice, white garlic and caraway seeds. Drinking some Hibiscus home made water. Lil void eying a piece. 😸

GR, how are we feeling about flock cameras? Good for reducing crime? Too much surveillance? Both?

Would it be more fair if we all had access to these? 🤔

Or approved with precious 6/09 API? 😬
Just want to clear up some anxiety 🙄

Last night here at work. Renewal didn’t arrive on time. What’s next for me…

Beyond all the hard work and dedication at work…
Beyond all the planing, staying on top of the painful news regarding daca and the state of the world…Beyond the years of saving money for emergencies, planing careful PTO around the year and summer…
Beyond all the support my family, gf, friends, and this community have given me…
Beyond all that, I still am losing my job tonight.

What now? Well now I wait and stay on top of this next chapter. I remind myself that my worth as a person comes from my words and actions, not on my job title, net worth or immigration status. I remind myself that I am whole at any time and this issue is something that is part of the bigger issues our world is currently facing. Now I let go of titles and statuses even more as I have been learning to let go these past couple weeks. I know I am approaching this with a lot of privilege as I am able to use savings and my family can also support for however long this extends to. Now I find refuge in those around me that time and time again have shown that they care about me for me and not for those titles. Now I use this energy to wake up even more so to my life situation and ask myself how can this be a new beginning for me? What have I neglected while in this constant rat race to the top?

Although our daca community is very diverse in ages and nationalities, I believe that certain values and skills unite us as a group of people that are living proof the American dream does exist. The ideals of freedom, responsibility, hard work, respect for our neighbors and communities, vision, and care for not only us but our families.

I know my situation is more cushioned than what some of you fellow dacamented folk have gone through, are or will go through. But I sincerely wish all of you the best in this situation.
Please remember we cannot just be the same as other citizens or even immigrant groups. I personally believe we owe it to ourselves and our future generations to always do better than the day before, to withstand sacrifice for a better future, to abstain from the hate that is so easily passed around, to show those that don’t know who we are what we can bring to the table and that we have to do our own homework and research as it comes to our data paperwork, news about immigration, laws, and other aspects of life that directly affect our situation.

Lastly just want to say thank you all that have been adding to the community here and other places. I hope we can find a sense of community, even if just online, amongst peers that do understand deeply what it means to have daca. 🤞🏽✌🏼🫰🏼✊🏽

After all these years… still look back every time I park. 😍

Handling the Michigan weather in class no matter what. Heated steering wheel is much appreciated!

Early morning bad accident at SB 131 right after MLK.

Didn’t hear anything about it but looked bad, pickup truck hit the back of a big semi bed. Hoping all involved are as best as possible.

Maybe also a reminder - Please let’s all be safe and keep cool when we drive, we all have someone waiting for us. Def note to self sometimes.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park Rivermouth - July 4 weekend

Just a few pics that dont do enough justice to how beautiful it all is up there! No fireworks needed to celebrate one of the reasons the USA is a beautiful place! And also why it’s important to keep places such as these safe for future generations!
