Stress related?

Let me start from the very beginning I went through a very stressful period from 2019-2023, so in late 2022 I started to develop upper left abdominal pain which felt like a dull ache almost the same sensation of having a bruise I also had some loose bowels and some black stools along with some constipation, then in July 2023 I started to get this tight feeling in my throat which felt like I was being strangled! quite literally like having someone’s hand round my throat 24/7, my GP sent me for a endoscopy which showed some moderate non erosive gastritis (h pylori)(negative) and a very small sliding hiatus herina which was labelled clinically insignificant by the consultant, I also had a MRI scan of my abdomen and a MRI of my small bowel as well as a CT colonoscopy to check my large bowel, all these tests came out Normal. I was put on lansoprazole 30mg to take everyday for a few months to try combat the gastritis. my symptoms to this day are tight throat 24/7 which can fluctuate daily in terms of the severity of it and I burp all the time….i wake up = burp I drink water = burp, I even move positions that’ll also = a burp….I’m really confused and need some guidance, I have tried some gaviscon advance UK version and that doesn’t stop the burping if im having an episode, and lansoprazole also doesn’t seem to have any positive impact on these symptoms, my GI consultant has basically given up and doesn’t know what to do for me, is this really all stress / anxiety induced? or is this something that hasn’t been identified yet? it’s been a long old journey and I’m still no better off, I quit smoking in January 2024 thinking that would help me whilst the black stools stopped nothing else had gotten better for me, please feel free to comment your thoughts / comments about your own experience, all the best.

Burping / reflux / chest pain

Symptoms are left sided chest pain under the breastbone. burping upon waking up, drinking water, or eating I basically burp on / off all day regardless of food, the burping disappears once I’m asleep and restarts once awake, lansoprazole does nothing for it. If I take gaviscon advance when I burp this does nothing to help either, endoscopy in 2023 showed some negative h pylori gastritis and a normal oesophagus, doc did mention a small sliding hiatus herina but clinically insignificant. I am not sure if this is anxiety related issue or actual damage related reflux, but PPIs do nothing to help, also have a very tight throat.

Coated tongue

I’ve had this coated tongue now for like 3 years! I gave up smoking in January 2024 I have excellent oral hygiene and see the dentist regularly but nobody can tell me why my tongue is like this, it gives me a very bitter metallic taste, I’ve seen numerous doctors who don’t seem concerned by it, it’s very frustrating and it makes my breath taste unpleasant even after brushing my teeth, I’ve tried using a tongue scraper and that does next to nothing. Also negative for yeast infection.

Celiac symptoms?

What were people’s symptoms before they were diagnosed with celiac disease? I’ve had uncomfortable symptoms now for 6 years! upper abdominal pain which feels like a stitch under my ribs on the left side, I burp literally all the time even on a empty stomach, I get acid reflux which medication does not help, I also get constipation and mushy stools too this fluctuates on a daily basis, I did do the TTG IGA blood test and a DGP IgG both negative, endoscopy in 2023 showed some gastritis but no h pylori, unfortunately they did not do a biopsy for celiac disease, my liver enzymes ALT / AST do seem to fluctuate apparent mild fatty liver on ultrasound. It’s all very frustrating I’ve quite frankly had enough of living my life like this. :(((

Functional dyspepsia?

Has anyone's gastritis here been caused by stress / anxiety? I'm not entirely sure what caused mine but I have suspected that it stemmed perhaps from chronic stress and a nervous stomach, l've had lots of tests including endoscopy and MRI / CT scans the only thing they've ever picked up was some mild gastritis on my endoscopy a few years ago, my main symptoms are upper left abdominal pain a dull ache sensation, burping even on empty stomach and constipation / loose stools, blood tests are all good and PPI medication has no effect to be honest and h pylori testing has always remained negative, I am naturally a stress head / overthinker with a nervous stomach but the symptoms just make things 100x worse, l've also had globus sensation for the last 3 years as well no amount of acid medication changes this.

Has anyone managed to figure out why they have globus and figured out a cure for it? I've had it for the past 3 years! I don't even know if it's related to gerd? PPls don't really do much it's a lump sensation in my throat legit 24/7 it's quite depressing just feels like your being strangled all the time..the burping / throat tightness is present even without eating anything, even drinking water triggers me to burp instantly. I had endoscopy a few years back showed some mild stomach inflammation no h pylori. I did go back and see a gastroenterologist in January this year, he said I don’t believe it’s acid driven issue as the PPI would at least do something. any suggestions or ideas please 🙏
