So I researched high and low on this topic hoping someone has been in my situation, but I found zero posts.

Stats: age 23, class of 2021 highschool and haven’t been to college yet, 3.9 weighted GPA and I have a compelling essay.

I am enrolled right now in a community college although I haven’t registered for classes and haven’t earned a single college course credit. The problem is I really want aspire to cover all my 4 years and aspire only covers the full four years for qualifying students who are first years. If I register for any classes, I will be considered a transfer and they’ll only cover two years. I presume I am technically still considered a first year if I apply for the spring term as a first year. I called and asked, and enrollment department reassured me that if my transcript has all Ws (how would I have a transcript if I haven’t registered for classes) and my college sends a letter of unenrollment, that I will still be considered a first year when I apply for Spring 2027. I have an SAI of -1500 and I am an independent on FAFSA because im 24 this year.

The question: Assuming all of this qualifies me for the aspire program, if you were me, would you drop your position at community college and basically waste six months of time you could be starting your 101 classes and start in UIC as a spring admit? The largest difference is, I will likely be covered for four years instead of two years if I just start in spring 2027. Again, also risky because I could be rejected aspire for whatever reason.

If anyone has been in my situation and still received aspire please tell me everything about your process. I greatly appreciate it.

And I know this isn’t a huge trade-off for saving that much money but is it going to be difficult being a semester behind most of my class since I’ll miss fall orientation, club sign ups, etc? I’ll still be taking 102 classes in fall 2027…

How horrible would it look on transcripts in two years if I didn’t place well on the ALEKS exam and got placed into a remedial math course my first semester of cc as a non trad first year student???

On one hand, I think it actually might protect my GPA, but on the other, it looks like shit because it’s not advanced math at all.

I want to place into a T25 I graduated high school with a 3.9 weighted GPA, terrible SAT scores bc I went through some shit that year, but I know I’m academically capable of getting a 4.0 in cc. The biggest issue is I might be placed into a remedial math course because I was out of school for five years (class of 2021 in highschool)

I believe there is a higher power in this universe, I believe there is a god. but the fact that there’s a promised mystical paradise waiting for us after we die makes everything else about Islam sound like BS. It’s just so obviously a coping mechanism. Why do we have to be promised some fantasy land where all our dreams come true to be a good person? And why does almost everything have to involve oppressing women?? Country: buying as an American, probably going to buy from China on eBay

Type of Camera: point and shoot compact camera, or more advanced as long as it can fit in my purse or pocket

Intended use: photography and videography of traveling, family photos, friends, just the whole wide variety

End use: social media (photography page) and as a hobby

Which photography: most likely gonna be mostly people. And landscapes.

If video what style: memories of friends and family and traveling

What features do you absolutely need: built-in flash, EVF, 4K video pocket-size and high image quality.

What features would be nice to have: weather protection, fast burst shooting

Portability: How portable does it need to be? Definitely pocketful, but if it can fit in my purse, it doesn’t have to fit in my pocket. Doesn’t have to be incredibly discreet. Think g7x size or smaller.

Cameras you're considering: Sony rx100 but not sure which model suits me and my budget, and Canon SX740 hs however I’m doubting the image quality

Cameras you already have: I have a Canon rebel T7 that I barely use because it’s so big.

Hello everyone

I’ve been thinking about getting a compact digital camera for a while and the RX 100 has most of what I’m looking for and luckily within my budget. I do have an intermediate level canon that I have fun with sometimes but I know I need something pocketable so I can capture pics more often.

My budget is maximum $700 or a bit more. I’m willing to buy used if it means getting a newer model but I’ve done some research and learned newer doesn’t always mean better for your needs. If you’ve seen the eBay market recently, I can get a used m5 for around $720 from China and that’s considered a good deal in today’s market. I don’t know anything about shopping on eBay but the sellers have around a hundred sales and 100% feedback and accept returns. However, the used m4 models are much higher in quantity and go for around $110 less.

If you were me, looking for a “forever” pocket camera to use for photographing friends, traveling, and in general going to use it for a wide variety of photo taking, which camera would you get? And if you recommend a completely different model for my needs let me know. I know the rx100 isn’t the easiest camera to navigate but I’m willing to learn.

If there’s a significant jump in tech between the two models then I’ll just get the m5. If anyone has tried out both, please share your experience, thanks !
