What if the Constitution added a few amendments

Let’s say from the very beginning that the founding fathers added a few extra guidelines for the United States. Here’s the three that I think would have had a massive impact on society, the quality of our lives and the functions of government:

  1. Prostitution is to be legal. Government cannot ban these sort of agreements between consenting adults.

  2. What substances or drugs a person chooses to possess or use is to be legal. Government cannot ban alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, heroin or anything that grows/ferments naturally etc for adult aged users.

  3. Slavery is to be banned. Any sort of forced labor against one’s will may not be legal.

I actually believe we’d be in a much freer country if these were to have been implemented from our very founding. It would’ve saved us from a lot of the problems we face today.

Arresting prostitutes and Johns is pointless. People have needs. It’s their choice. Washington allowed his soldiers to visit brothels, and records essentially showed that he himself did as well. If they are consenting, let it be. It’s not governments job to dictate what they do.

The war on drugs has failed. Period. The US has spent trillions trying to stop it, giving life sentences to its dealers, locking up addicts, only for it to thrive today more than ever. Legalize it, regulate it, let people choose what’s best for them. It would’ve saved this country a lot of money and a big headache.

The last one, must I explain? The trans Atlantic slave trade is a blemish on history. America’s worst decision. Divided the nation in two. Was unethical. Led to our bloodiest war. It should’ve stopped the moment the USA began.

What are your thoughts if those 3 had been added?

Are there any others you’d wish to see?

What if we never had horses

Genuine question. Where would humanity be?

Horses did a tremendous amount for human transportation, farm work, war, supply chains and probably more I can’t think of.

If we’d never been able to utilize horses would we still be in the Bronze Age, or worse?

Absurd new coworkers

I’m not sure this is necessarily “bullying” but maybe moreso “workplace absurdity” that tells me I may need to go. I’d like some input to make sure I’m not the crazy one here, or overreacting.

I could go off on the numerous examples of incompetence at my job, but I want to focus on the recent one.

We hired a new guy about 4 months ago. From the jump he made himself veryyy comfortable. In the first week he completely customized his work station.

I mean he literally added his own lighting. Brought in his own custom chair. Asked people to help him carry it in, which is not our job, at all, lol. Put a sort of wallpaper around his designated area. Every outlet slot is connected to some sort of light up decorative thing that is not necessary. I found this absurd and was surprised my boss didn’t tell him to relax with all that.

He has kids, and randomly brings one or two of his kids in and have them just sit behind him at his station. Sometimes his gf. I can understand kids here n there if there’s a custody or daycare issue and they behave, but the gf? He also secretly confided in me that she’s a retired sex worker. No I’m not kidding lol.

I will say, he’s decent at his actual job, average, so there’s really no issue there when he’s presented with a task. He shows up and does deliver when needed. But in between tasks he’s a bit of a problem. You’ll see…

Now here’s the kicker. We needed a new receptionist, and he convinced the boss to hire his gf. And she DID.

I feel this has gone too far. She’s now in the workplace constantly, and they have been doing some public displays of affection that I find inappropriate. Not kissing or groping, but hugs from behind and holding hands etc. One time I walked back to my car in the parking lot on break, and they were both in his car parked directly next to mine, and they jumped up from doing something when I opened my car door. Like I caught them fooling around. I actually think I did.

Glad I didn’t see anything. But get a room dude. Who tf would do that parked next to a coworker?

To add to it, and not to body shame, but they are both obese, and there’s a few times I have to walk around them hugging and cuddling in the hallways, and squeeze against the walls to not touch anyone.

She’s also pretty bad at her job, and I’ve been extremely patient. I know she’s new, but she’s made mistakes that have cost me a commission and although she was indeed truly sorry (and new) it has repeated a few times. When I’ve calmly tried to explain how it affects the team, he walks over and listens in with an obvious presence like ‘I hope you’re not about to disrespect my chick’ type of energy.

They are also both in their 40s and I feel this makes it weirder. They act like middle school kids with their PDA. And the boss says nothing about it.

Well today hit a breaking point. It started with yesterday, when I went out to get lunch. I asked if anyone wanted anything. Now obviously I can’t just pick up lunch for all 2 dozen of my coworkers- but maybe someone just wanted a tea or soda. Well he and his gf say yea, and give me a legit FULL lunch order.

But you know what- screw it. I say okay, I got you. And I genuinely BUY their lunches.

Now when I come back she did thank me, but he just took his food without a thank you, or offering to reimburse me. I didn’t need the money but it’s the thought.

After opening it, he was PISSED that there wasn’t enough bbq sauce. Kept complaining to his gf like “babe, look, babe, look”. Now maybe the sauce was low, but dude, you didn’t even pay for it. And you’re at work. Behave yourself. Also this dude never thanks me, then has the nerve to ask where I got it so he can return it. He’s genuinely being a fucking Karen over bbq sauce. Talking to me like I’m some lowly waiter that isn’t getting a tip.

I know he lives at home with his parents, despite having 5 (yes 5) children in his 40s. Maybe he talks to his mom at home that way but me? I’d fire him if I was the boss.

I decided this isn’t a war I want to fight. It’s the last time I order anything for him, and I will just let it slide. Lesson learned. Because it’s not worth it.

Fast forward to today. I usually have today off but they needed me and I came in on my off day. Busted my ass actually. But unfortunately somehow cut my shin on the edge of a metal cabinet randomly towards the end of the evening, and it was pouring blood down into my shoe.

I called out to the receptionist to get me a first aid kid. Now it’s clear from my voice, and my request, that this is an emergency. She just gets the box and puts it next to me with an attitude. Like ‘this isn’t my job’ type energy. I’m holding the bleeding with one hand and tearing bandaging open with my teeth from the kit I opened with one hand while she walks off.

You’d think she’d at least get the bandaging out? Ask if I needed something. Pretend to care?

My boss saw this and told me to go home early. We only had a half hour left, and I did.

Now this coworker guy somehow gets my number. I never gave it to anyone besides my boss. I don’t want my coworkers to have it, but it IS available in the system for all to view.

He’s texting me that me leaving early meant he had to stay (max 5 minutes) later to finish a task that I didn’t complete. A task that was 95% done. And how he’s disappointed in ME and I need to do better.

I said dude, this was my off day, and my shin was bleeding. Want to see the blood on my sock? The boss let me go. He said ‘ok but do better next time’. What? You can’t make this up…

I let him know that I was disappointed about him not thanking me for the lunch yesterday, and making a scene about it not having enough sauce. I didn’t expect him to pay but it would be nice to offer. I didn’t have to just buy him and his gf food so he should be appreciative.

He said verbatim “It’s all good you don’t need to buy me lunch anymore. But thanks for trying bro.”

For trying? Trying?? Lol.

I’m just beside myself here.

We had a coworker leave last week and I reached out to vent to her, and ask why the boss is so lenient with these two. She said our boss’ husband just got arrested for illegal STOLEN firearm sales in April and is looking at 10+ years! (No wonder I haven’t seen him around) She apparently doesn’t need more problems at work. Oh, and btw she JUST gave birth in February to their third kid.

It was always weird, because she’s a very professional woman, but her husband always looked like a gang member and I remember thinking “what does she see in him?” I try not to judge, but my judgment is often pretty strong.

I feel like this is insanely bad and despite the money being alright at my company, I need to GTFO here.

Nobody else seems to be bothered by this or notice.

Am I making it a bigger deal than it seems here, or is this toxic as hell? Would you leave, or bite the bullet if the pay is OK enough? My base pay is $80k without OT. I know the job market isn’t great right now but I feel I should start looking.

I’m not seeing this get better…

The Pizzeria

I just thought of this story from around 2011 and wanted to tell you guys. Til this day I haven’t told a single person, and recently felt it’s time to share it. You all will be the first to hear it :)

In 2010 I got out of the military. A lot of my friends were attending a particular “party” college in upstate NY and I wanted to get away from the rigidity of the military life and basically go be a bro and hang with the guys for their last semester.

During my time there I got a job delivering pizza. It was alright. I figured I made maybe $13/hr after gas and expenses. Not bad.

I was never late, worked consistently and went above and beyond if needed, but it felt like there was this sense that I just wasn’t “in” with the crowd there. No big deal. I was new, and it’s not the end of the world. We still did joke, have a good time, communicated well and got orders out. That’s what matters.

But once in a while there was just this sense of implied- ‘you’re below us and will never be on our level’ fake vibe.

I do believe there was a bit of a small town Dunning-Kruger effect going on. They were all from that relatively unheard of area, only knew life in that pizzeria, not well traveled, and thought they were big shots for the tiny world they lived in.

About a dozen of us worked there. The owner and his son ran the operations. Other local hillbillies did the rest.

Snarky comments and attitudes that were unjust were not uncommon. They’d have broken kitchen equipment, with no intention of fixing it, yet if you had trouble operating it or ran into an issue, it was YOUR fault- not THEIR fault for their inability to fix the faulty parts.

They had a table with a broken leg used for drying plates and cutlery etc. One day I placed a crock pot on it after washing then drying the pot and it slid right off due to the steep slope of the table and shattered, and they got furious. It was my incompetence, not their broken table. Ah, yes, of course.

What really did it for me was when Mac Miller came to town. He was holding a concert at the college and it was basically the big event of the year. We all had begun talking about it. Being I was a veteran, there were a limited number of heavily discounted tickets available for military concertgoers, which is a really nice thing. I think they were like 50% off, and you could buy up to 8 if I remember correctly.

Suddenly after mentioning that at work, the guys wanted to go with me. The head pizza guy, young dude, asked me to use my discount to get his tickets and he’d pay me back, then we could all go together. Normally I do not like abusing the privilege of a military discount by buying things for other non vets, because I feel it’s disrespectful to the vendor, but I just wanted to do it this one time. Hook up the guys (I may have also gotten tickets for his non work friends, I forget) and go together.

I wound up getting maybe 6 tickets, don’t quote me on that. I was fully paid back at work, and we agreed to meet before the event. But I had a bad feeling about this. Like I wasn’t quite invited, despite buying the tickets.

Sure enough, day of the concert, I hit them up and get no reply. There is no meetup. At the event I remember seeing them there with their people, and I just went alone. It was a pretty depressing feeling.

To be treated like that was unnecessary.

I never did anything to these guys. And they just used me for my veteran status, then ghosted me. I was ready for the excuses back at work too: “Oh my phone died, I just saw your text now” yada yada.

To add to it I bought a Mac Miller shirt and it was stolen by the girl behind me at the concert. I never got it back.

Anyways.

Back at work sure enough the excuses poured in. ‘Oh my bad my bad. Sorry I was busy, didn’t check my phone, did you still go?’

Okay, game on. That’s how we’re gona do it?

I knew I was ready to leave that place. But first- I was going to steal from them. And I knew how…

I know, it’s petty. “You’re a veteran and should act with honor.” I know. But I wanted to do it. And I did.

Every day that I returned from delivering pizzas, I had to give them the receipts from the day, and the cash to go with the totals. If there was $500 in orders, I’d give them receipts with the $500 and keep the difference as a tip. But there was a major flaw: they didn’t keep THEIR side of the receipts, because they were lazy, or dumb, so they relied on me to just report back with all the accurate receipts every day.

Out of a few dozen orders a day, they would easily forget a few. It’s human nature.

Some orders were very memorable because they gave us trouble, had unique requests or were super big deliveries. I didn’t withhold those receipts. Just the average ones. Two pepperoni pizzas. A large pie with wings. Basic stuff.

They had also left a window cracked at night that could be broken into and the register was left with $200, but I didn’t want to do all that. Just thought about it, cause I hated them so much. But $200 was small and not worth the hassle of a B&E. Plus, this plan could generate more.

I knew I could take $40-$60 per shift using these withheld receipts and not raise any suspicion. Not only would it be low key, but in the long run would total much more than $200 if done right. And that’s what I did.

These guys were so cocky and thought they were slick. Used me for my military discount, thought I fell for their bs excuses and was just a dummy employee to use and dispose of. There also was a sense I’d be fired any day now.

I took about $20-80 from them a day, depending on the day’s volume and how the flow of business felt. If it was a slow day, I took less. Busy? I took more. Maybe averaged $50 a day.

I did this for like 2 months and probably got idk, $1500 to $2000 from the scam.

When they fired me one day, the owners son wasn’t kind about it. He came in like a bully, and not like a leader. Told me that the broken crock pot was a major issue, along with other things (that he did not mention). He acted very tough and imposing, like he was some giga alpha or whatever as he did this. Unnecessary machismo, mixed with ego and the false sense that because daddy had a pizza shop that he was important or something lol. I said okay, and left.

I knew they never found out about the receipts because he would’ve demanded that money back asap and went berserk lol. Never did…

Good for me.

Years later in 2019 I went back to that town. I decided to stop in the shop and grab a slice. Not say a word. See if the staff was the same, or if anyone recognized me. Just out of curiosity. Why not? No ill will.

The second I walked in, the head pizza guy (one who used me for the veteran discount) was still there making pizzas. He immediately did a head nod and said “Oh. Wait… Didn’t you use to work here?” Followed by asking if I also lived there still.

I got my slice and a soda and sat down. The quality had greatly declined, and I’m really not trying to be petty. It genuinely did. He mentioned that they’d changed the sauce and the recipe. Also that he’d bought the business and the owner had left.

He had another guy working there and the new guy asked “He used to be an employee here?” referring to me. Well douche man thought I couldn’t hear him and said “Yea and we FIRED his ass” or something slick and petty, as he usually would do.

I just brushed it off, though I wanted to say “Yea and if you only knew how much I stole from you guys before leaving this dump” lol but I just let it go. Glad to see he still hasn’t done shit with his life and is still in the same kitchen.

Also glad that I got a degree at a different university, moved to one of the best cities in the US, got a good Fortune 500 job and got far away from that hillbilly town.

I try to take the high road in life, but some times along the way we get to be petty. And I have no regrets :)

Are you glad you chose this job?

I hear mixed responses about the BOP, but my main question is: Are you glad you chose this job?

I am stuck in a job that isn’t paying the bills, making about $50k a year with no OT available. I want more from life and more financial freedom. I’m paycheck to paycheck and especially with no tax on OT I really feel this could propel me forward financially.

So, do you recommend the job? Please comment why or why not?

Eating at work

I know, kind of random title, but how and what do you eat at work? I’m applying for BOP and am curious where you get your calorie source from.

Someone told me the BOP is great and has professional staff to feed the COs on site. ChatGPT says this is wrong. Can anyone confirm?

If you are bringing your own food, are you just bringing something premade or is there at least a microwave and fridge on site?

*Trigger warning!!* ⚠️

So I was walking through Barton Creek mall earlier today, absolutely minding my business. For the record, I wasn’t thinking about having sex with men or anything (because I am completely straight btw).

I was just dropping in to Victoria’s Secret to get something nice for my wife to put on for her boyfriend later tonight.

As I was going down the escalator I noticed a group of ~~handso~~ intimidating white men following me. They *all* had flannel shirts, mullets and MAGA hats on! As usual! Right?? Cause that’s how they all dress!

I immediately became scared and my switched direction to the safest place I was always told to be in any sort of emergency or natural disaster- Dillards.

But that wasn’t enough… 😔

They continued following, smirking, I could hear one humming Morgan Wallen while the others began catcalling and whistling. As a straight man that definitely doesn’t have gay fantasies, this was terrifying.

I thought of my wife. My platonic trans friend that sleeps over nightly. Our 11 cats… Could she and her boyfriend afford the rent if something happened to me?

The men aggressively followed. They cornered me and uttered those terrible words: “Show us yer pecker, boy, or you’ll get the same treatment we gave ol Jussie Smollett”

I couldn’t believe it! I was staring directly into the eyes of Jussie Smolletts attackers! I had no choice. I was outnumbered...

“Do what you must…” I replied. I accepted my fate. I knew it was the only way forward.

They all jerked me off, while one played Luke Combs songs on his YouTube premium app (I mean at least it was ad free).

When it was over they just ran off giggling. I was humiliated…

I wiped my Johnson off on one of the pillowcases on the display beds and drove home crying.

It’s not what I wanted, and definitely wasn’t a gay fantasy I’d been having, or made up. It’s just a terrible thing that happened that was completely out of my control.

I cried and cried on the couch tonight, until I heard that crazy man stormed the White House dinner tonight. That made me smile. Also my wife’s bf brought me a coconut water from Whole Foods (slay queen).

I’m just trying to see the bright side here.

I'm not sure what to do from this point. Needing advice on how to step into my power as a strong, not homosexual, man again.

Can I go back to that mall? Will my cats still see me the same? Where can I download that country playlist? It wasn’t half bad.

MAGA is just so… fascist. 😢 What should I do??
