Question about prenups

Is a prenup important to legally enforce a nikah contract in countries that don't consider sharia law in divorce proceedings? like the US? I've also heard that there are other legal ways too like a postnup or smthn.

What are your opinions on this? I know that prenups have a rlly bad rep but honestly I think that it's important to consider if your nikah contract holds up in court in the event of a divorce. Like even if someone informally agrees to abide by the nikah contract at the time of marriage, there's no guarantee that they'll stick to what they told you if you're at the point that you're getting divorced.

Anybody else scared they won’t get an A

I know it’s too early in the cycle, but man im getting more fucking neurotic by the hour

Genuinely everyone i know from undergrad that is starting DO this cycle has a 3.9+ gpa and 515+ mcat and didn’t get in after applying like 40+ MD. I know that stats aren’t everything, but at the same time they can’t all be red flags

Like wtf do med schools even want??? I was under the impression that DO schools are more forgiving. Like wdym you had a 516 mcat and only got in DO after applying 38 MD 😭😭😭 same with another girl i know, 3.96 gpa and 517 mcat.

Like if these are the people I’m competing against, why would I expect to get in? I saw a post from a dude applying like 20+ DO with a 3.6 gpa and 515 mcat. I don’t even have a bad mcat, but everyone I know in real life has 510+ and it’s making me feel ashamed that I didn’t do better.

I don’t mean to discourage anyone, I think I’m just freaking myself out but I’m also genuinely so curious about why this seems to be happening more frequently.

School List Help - MCAT 508, cGPA 3.49, sGPA 3.2, CA ORM

Hello, I'm applying this cycle to MD and DO but I'm looking for more DO options, especially ones in more urban areas since I'd like to continue my work with urban underserved communities:

Extracurriculars:
Clinical volunteering: 250 hours across 3 activities (taking vitals in ED, hospital volunteering, and free clinics)
Non-clinical volunteering: 400 hours across 3 activities (mentorship, food pantry)
Research: 200 hours, 1 pub pending (2nd author)
Leadership: 550 hours across 3 positions
CA ORM at T20
cGPA: 3.49
sGPA: 3.2
MCAT: 508 (126/125/127/130)
Somewhat of an upward trend (increase from freshman year and then pretty much consistent)
I'm taking a gap year, so I anticipate getting a lot more clinical hours and research hours and will send update letters on those later in the cycle.

DO List:

  • Western University of Health Sciences (COMP)
  • Touro University California
  • Touro University NY
  • NYIT-COM
  • PCOM
  • MSU COM
  • Rowan COM
  • Nova Southeastern COM
  • ATSU-KCOM
  • Noorda-COM

^Not sure what other ones to add, I was going to add CHSU because I'm a CA resident but I've heard bad things about it from the students, same with LECOM and ICOM

I'd like to add 7-10 more DO schools, please let me know if you have any recommendations

Edit: access to research opportunities and stronger match rates into EM/Anesthesia/Psych/Gen Surgery are also factors I'm considering as well if there's any schools that come to mind

DO School List Help

Are there any schools I should add to this list? I'm looking to apply very broadly since my stats are on the lower side:

  • 3.48 cgpa, 3.2 sgpa, 508 MCAT (126/125/127/130)
  • 200 clinical hours
  • 400 volunteering hours (long-term mentorship, tutoring)
  • 500 leadership hours
  • 200 research hours (1 pub pending, 2nd author)
  • CA resident, ORM, T20 university

Should I add more? If so, any recommendations?

I'm taking a gap year so I'll be able to boost my clinical and research hours throughout the cycle and send updates, but here's my school list so far. The ones I double-starred are my top choices:
