Cancel international shipping (via sea, untracked)

Hi everyone!

Seeking info/advice on cancelling an international shipment. TL;DR at the bottom.

I posted a 14kg parcel via sea, untracked (cheapest option) on May 30th 2026 from southeastern Queensland to my parents’ home address in Ontario, Canada before travelling abroad. I’ve shipped a few parcels via sea/untracked a few times over the years and it usually takes 2, max 3 months. It’s a hiking backpack full of sentimental stuff like old uniforms, clothing and mementos, not valuable or vital for my trip/life but it would have been a burden to check and drag through several countries (shoutout to r/onebag community).

In the parcel is also some spare (but good!) diving gear that I would have ideally used while in North America, but wouldn’t be gutted if it didn’t get there in time. I put an AirTag in the bag, paid the nice lady, and flew out a couple days later for an extended multi-continental trip, with my final destination visiting family in Canada by mid-August.

I’ve been checking on it periodically, and it got to the Aus Post Sydney gateway facility 3 days after I posted it. I’m in Canada now and as of 13 minutes ago it is STILL IN AUSTRALIA, a whole 3 months later. I knew it would take a while, and I accepted the risk, but at this point I will be coming home to Queensland in a few weeks and I’d rather try to cancel and have the dive gear for friends/spares. The MyPost portal does not have options for canceling/redirecting for obvious reasons, so I’ll need to contact them within Aus business hours (I'm 14 hours behind).

Sooo in the meantime I’m appealing to the fine Redditors of Australia. Has anyone successfully cancelled an international shipment due to delays (or any reason really), or have any resources/advice on how to get help from Aus Post contact center? If you don’t have any personal experience, feel free to entertain the group by sharing your most frustrating AusPost lore.

Thanks for reading my first world problem post! Wishing everyone a pleasant day without delays.

TL;DR: posted a bag internationally on May 30th via sea cargo without tracking, from southeast Queensland to Ontario, Canada with an AirTag. Usual delivery time ~2-3 months. FindMy app shows the parcel still sitting in Sydney, but I’m coming home to Queensland soon so I want to try and cancel before it gets on a ship. Any advice or Auspost anecdotes welcome!

Unauthorised tenants, hoarders, damage to property, and unknown number of dwellers

I’ll try to be brief.

I'd like get some advice/a point in the tight direction about the eviction process of a problem tenant, before I start deep diving into RTA laws.

Goal: find the swiftest, strongest eviction process, get advice on what evidence is needed for a strong argument before a tribunal/Municipal inspection officer

Info: 1 person on the lease of a 3-bedroom, living there since September 2020, always pays on time. Tenant's adult children, their partners, and their children also live there. In the past, during routine inspections, the property was found to have damage, hazards and unsafe conditions (beyond reasonable wear and tear) due to hoarding/unsanitary lifestyle. Tenant was issued a notice for this as a first step of eviction process and they cleaned up at the time to avoid tribunal/eviction.

In March, tenant changed the hydro payments into her adult daughter's name. Enercare asked for authorization, which is when the tenant was contacted over the phone to get info about the request. Tenant said she still lives there, but adult daughter uses more hydro so she will take over payments. Authorization was granted. On the lease is still only 1 tenant, who pays the rent from her account.

Problems:

  1. property damage: the unsanitary lifestyle and conditions (hoarding) of those living there are causing severe damage to the property, and the value
  2. unauthorized tenants: highly suspect that primary tenant is not occupying the dwelling, only her adult children and their families.
  3. Above max occupants: From the amount of personal effects and people around

If anyone has helpful advice or has been in this situation before, I would greatly appreciate your insight. Thank you.

Lost GoPro Hero12, Sunday June 21st - Pike's or Pacha

Hey everyone

I know this is a long shot, but somewhere between Pike's Sunday event (12am-4am) and Solomun Pacha (from approx 4:30-7am) I dropped my GoPro Hero12. It's black, no cover, only a bungee wrist strap attached. Last few photos or videos would have been from motorbiking, beaching and sight seeing that day.

I last remember seeing it in the Pike's parking lot, but I could have dropped it inside at the event. Next I went to Pacha for Solomun + Idris Elba, and I took most of my stuff inside with me so could have dropped it in the motorbike spots out front or inside on the dance floor?

If anyone picked up a black GoPro in Ibiza recently, please DM me and I can tell you the serial number to confirm if it's mine. Happy to pay for postage and some money on top for the trouble.

If anyone has other advice or suggested communities to reach out to, let me know. Thanks for reading, buen día!

Car details:

Year: 2011

Make: Mitsubishi

Model: Pajero GLX, wagon

Engine: 4M41 diesel

Mods: dual battery: winch/fridge/spotties, etc., stock stereo replaced with Pioneer DMH-Z5350BT

Hi everyone,

Absolute beginner here so please be kind. I have a 2011 4wd Pajero, with the stock stereo replaced by a Pioneer DMH-Z5350BT (to have Apple CarPlay and rear view cameras and all that jazz).

In the last few months I’ve noticed that when I turn the car off and back on again, my steering wheel controls aren’t programmed correctly. I can’t switch songs, volume down increases volume, and some features on the stereo display are greyed out.

So what I have to do every single time I get in the car: turn the source off the Pioneer, go into settings>steering wheel controls, and reconnect “with adapter”, and it works again. Not the biggest problem I have in my life but a slight annoyance.

Does anyone know how I can fix this permanently? Thanks for any advice.

*funny pic for attention from that time my stereo narced on me*
