Tesla gigafactory NV.

I have an opportunity to interview with Tesla in Sparks, NV.

Currently a maintenance electrical/control tech for the same role I’m potentially going to interview for.

I have read about layoff soon afterwards, higher cost of living compared to where I am at, but for the most part all the “negatives” of the workplace is what I deal with now. Poor management planning, tempermanent fixes, unmotivated staff, etc. I’m still young(early 30s 7yrs industrial electrical/controls, 10yrs electrical experience)and this can be an opportunity of a lifetime to work at an advanced factory like this. I’m self motivated, love my field and always want to learn/achieve more.

Anyone work there/has and can tell me more? Just trying to weight the pros and cons of potentially relocating.

Picked up the QM8L!

What an amazing TV! Went from a 55in Samsung older 4k 60hz(3yrs old) to this 75” monster. What a world of difference.

Calibration: the few hrs I’ve been playing with it, it all depends on your room, vision, and other needs.

Built in speakers sound better than the sound bar I have. Definitely will pick up the TCL sound bar and sub for this beast.

Screen lottery: so far so good!

Picked it up from Best Buy for their 60th year anniversary for 1.7k

PSA: for residents of Griffith!

Low life people are breaking into garages/home at night. Lock down your generators, make sure your doors and windows are locked with the shades down and set up battery lights through out the house to make it look occupied!!!!!

Stuck inner tub(WTW5057LW0)

I have tried hammering on the shaft from the inside, scissor jack method with no luck, blasting it with PB blaster(don’t want to break the inner tub), pulling from the under side of the gear case. It will not nudge. Reason I need it out is to change out the gear case sounds like a plane taking off. I’m at the point where I’m just going to start cutting out the gear case from the bottom of the unit so it’s only the shaft and then I should be able to pull it out, unfortunately the old shaft will still be stuck in the tub. Parts were $365+(gearcase, belt, spluck kit)and I’m assuming if my mom called an appliance repair shop the repair would be the cost of parts plus whatever their mark up is and more for labor. I guess my questions is 1. Repair guys what are your tricks? 2. I doubt you guys attempt this fix since the cost of parts and labor will basically be the price of a new unit.

Context: I am an industrial electrical maintenance/controls tech.
