[Multiple games] I have been a little addicted the past year or so

Emerald Seaglass, Heart & Soul, FireRed, SoulSilver, Lazarus, Recharged Emerald, Amethyst, Recharged Yellow, Prism, White 1, and finally Unbound. Never thought I’d rediscover my love of Pokemon this intensely at almost 30 years old, but I’ve a newfound love for these games as in-depth RPGs

What a ride, I finally see what the hype is about

Difficult mode, this team could handle just about everything pretty handedly (except Moleman, how is Excadrill that fast). Screener Metagross, nasty plot/baton pass Togekiss, iron fist Pangoro (with wicked blow), honk-shoo tank Walrein, “You are already dead” Typhlosion, and a king’s rock skill link jolly Cinccino that doesn’t let her foes play the game.

I understand the romhack GOAT claims now. I almost wanted to be a contrarian but I can’t, it’s all true. Great music, story, QoL, team build potential, challenge, so on and so forth. Could be the best Pokemon game I’ve ever played and I’ve been playing Pokemon for nearly all of my almost-thirty years on this earth.

First full gen 5 playthrough is over. The chinchilla is god.

Alder was powerless to stop Cinccino’s rock blasts as they flattened half his team. Sigilyph running both reflect and light screen lets the whole team completely off their leashes, it’s awesome.

Damage values in the roguelike mode

For the life of me, I feel like any damage multiplier that I acquire in the roguelike mode is a lie and is actually bugged. Stamina regen, health buffs, physical resistance, attack speed, element buildup, all of these things I notice markedly improve depending on the echoes I acquire. But I swear on everything I hold dear that I do not notice a single difference in my raw damage output when I have a solid run building it and it could be upwards of 60% higher. The damage I do to normal enemies is the same, the damage I do to the Echo Knight seems completely identical to any other run where I barely buffed damage at all. I only started playing a little over a week ago and I am nearly endgame, so I have no idea if this is a new issue or old news. I beat the Echo Knight once at level 20, with a lightning dagger and a level of locked-in I haven’t achieved since no-hitting Gaius or beating Promised Consort for the first time in Elden Ring. It’s just frustrating to see my damage output remain almost exactly the same unless I’m leaning heavily into element or crit fishing that run.

Also, unrelated, but I’m not sure I’ve been as emotionally devastated fighting a boss as I was fighting The Lost Huntress. My eyes were actually in danger of watering the whole time

First time playing through BW and seriously, why is this tiny thing so GOATed. I’m just playing White so I can’t even get skill link, but technician is putting in plenty of work. If I can set her up with reflect from Sigilyph beforehand or manage two work ups it’s officially GGs, there is nothing standing between her and the blood of her enemies. She solo’d the flying and ice gyms with nothing but rock blasts and the open palm slap of god. The most anything that doesn’t resist normal type can do is pray tail slap only hits twice. This chinchilla looks at you with abject bewilderment when you say critical hits are supposed to be rare. The kings rock had to be hidden in the postgame so everyone else could have a fighting chance. Jolly nature so she is already in the house by the time you even think to lock the doors.

In summary, having a good time with Cinccino on my team, would recommend.
