Stuck in echo knight room after beating him

Stuck in the Echo Knight boss room after beating him. Right before I killed him, we both hit each other at the same time. I was pretty low HP, so any normal attack from him should’ve killed me. Not 100% sure, but I think we both killed each other somehow, except I’m still alive. It reset my Echo back to 1, and now I can’t get into the reward room. sadge

Is there a less painful way to get a Fire-infused Tortured Blade, or am I cursed?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to get a Tortured Blade wakizashi with Fire infusion, but at this point I’m starting to think the game has personally decided that I don’t deserve happiness.

I’ve crafted over 30 of them and still haven’t gotten the Fire version. The only “special” ones I managed to get were one Ice and one Pestilence, which is cool, but absolutely not what I’m looking for.

Is there any other way to get this weapon with Fire infusion that’s more consistent or less soul-crushing? Maybe a better farming method, a specific source, or anything that doesn’t involve me sacrificing my sanity at the crafting table?

I’m honestly close to giving up, so any advice would be appreciated.

This game has massive potential for online coop content.

I don't mean just running around the map with a friend...

I would love to see dungeons in this game, both solo dungeons and also 4 man group and even maybe 12 man raid dungeons. World bosses that spawn from "rifts" that you have to take down.

Just imagine how cool that would be? And the gear that drops could be really real powerful armour pieces or weapons, maybe unique armour that has a set bonus? Maybe lots of embers and stuff?

To be honest it's always frustrated me that games like these don't try to branch into "mmo" territory a little bit. Also a pvpve realm would be amazing.

Can anybody drop me wolf claws? Is that possible?

I’m
Tired of trying to find wolves. They won’t spawn. And I can’t upgrade my weapon. I can’t move onto the next area cause I’m
Level 18 and my weapons level 2. It’s getting pretty old

How to get alt Ichors?

I just picked up this game a couple nights ago and I've been having fun, even though I am not very good at it hah

I wanted to try a different weapon with different stats so I made an alt to focus on Dex instead of..intellect? Wizard juice? Whatever the lightning staff uses.

I had already beaten the first boss on my first character, and now I can't fight it to get the Ichor on my alt. Is there a way to get it still? I found a post of someone recommending continuously creating new realms to beat him over and over but that sounds a bit cursed hah

Bow being an AOE weapon doesn't fit what this game is trying to do IMHO

The current bow implementation doesn't support a traditional bow fantasy. Bow is by definition a ranged SINGLE target weapon. There is nothing more single target than that. As a bow enjoyer I want my bow to take time to fire but then deal shitloads of damage to a single mob with a high crit multiplier and maybe bleed/poison/burn damage. That's the fantasy. If you want to make it an AOE then some sort of penetration where it penetrates multiple mobs also works very well.

But what do we have in this game? 4 types of quiver that all turn the bow into a missile launcher. Like, who came up with that idea?

I tried playing a bow with my brother who is playing melee and and it made the game instantly unplayable because of friendly fire. And yes, I know I can choose not to use a quiver but isn't a quiver also part of the bow fantasy? Really stupid design that doesn't fit with anything else in this game.

Bow fantasy aside, I generally don't really see the need to have access to easily spammable AOE damage skills. This make sense in other ARPGS since you are fighting hundreds of mobs in single map but that's not the case here. I think AOE spells that have a long casting time make sense but that works because your friends have time to get away from them. It actually makes it a fun gameplay loop and is satisfying to pull off a long casting time strong AOE with a visually pleasing effect while your friends are dodging away from it.

What makes this game unique is that it is not your usual click button --> clear screen --> repeat game. Literally every other ARPG is doing that, this one is different. Yes, it might not cater to the POE/POE2 crowd, but that's fine. There are so many ARPGs doing that better. Just focus on what makes NRFTW different rather than trying to cater to the zoom zoom crowd.

I love this game, but...

Is there a way to reduce the grind for materials? i'll be honest with y'all i do not care in the slightlest about upgrading sacrament, specially since it's so dull after the first like 30 minutes going after cooper ores and wood.

I do not care at all, i'm honestly just considering using cheats to get everything at level 2 or so and go from there. IF there ain't a way to just make this grind better. I've been playing for like 10 hours and only now stopped to actually try to upgrade stuff, 30 minutes later i realised this shit sucks and came here to ask for advice.

Help me fix my dex build!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the game, and somewhat new to Souls-likes and Souls-lights. I've recently hit level 24 and I've noticed a very steep dropoff in the DPS / efficacy of my build since around 20. I want to stay dex, but I'm considering switching to a different weapon type.

Do you see any other areas in my build where I can improve my dps?

Weapon: Brother's Keepers (level 4, having been upgraded twice)

Weapon runes: Dual-breaker + Throw Axe (I haven't found any other runes that appeal to me. One NPC sells a bunch of runes that do various kicks, which I haven't tried)

I find myself having to constantly use Blade Oil for the 20% dmg increase just to contend with some mobs / bosses.

Utility runes: Self-heal, Channeled heal, Illuminate, and Channel. I want to swap Channel with Repair, which I've got in my bag, but I don't know how to swap it. The rune lady's menu doesn't help much.

I use a combination of leather and mesh armor with mostly +dmg, crit, stam recovery, and lifesteal. Everything is enchanted + infused.

I swap to new armor pieces when I can, but I've never upgraded an armor piece the way I've upgraded my weapon at the smith. Not sure if they can be upgraded.

My rings are kind of bad. They're mostly just +resistance and +armor, stamina, etc. I haven't found DPS rings.

Stats:

Health: 19

Stam: 22

Str: 10

Dex: 25

Int: 10

Faith: 10

Focus: 16 (for a bit bigger mana pool)

Equip: 37 (to allow for the use of mesh, since my dodge / parry timing isn't fantastic)

I have read that one-handed weapons hit harder and have bigger stagger. Would you recommend I swap out of dual-wield and into one-handers? If so, which type should I use (curved sword, straight sword, wakizashi, etc)? I've heard Pig Sticker works pretty well.

Thank you!

Can someone explain me how the lock on works ?

Everything in the title,

I feel the lock on is inconsistent and sometimes switch target regarding where you attack is aiming and sometimes it does not.

It there an hard lock on and a soft one ?

It got me killed multiple time switching at the wrong moment or locking on the wrong target.

Could use some tips if there are any.

How do I get to this waypoint?

I can't find it anywhere. It's not in the cave and there doesn't seem to be anyway to get above the area.

History and character development.

This post is mainly for those who are very intrigued by how the story and character development will unfold in Acts 1, 2, and 3.

I have a degree of hope that none of the main characters will die in Acts 1 and 2. I think it would be too early in the story to see them dead. I don't know about you, but a final act where each main character's arc is properly concluded in an out-of-control conflict, where the war is at its most dramatic point, would be very epic.

I also really like the construction of moments, whether it's a death, a dialogue, a monologue, a fight, etc., that stay with me for a long time.

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Malazan series, but I'd like to see exactly what happens in that series here.

So, tell me, who is your favorite character? What are your expectations for the story?

And I apologize, although I have some knowledge of English, I'm not a native speaker.

Did I choose the wrong difficulty?

Hey folks, I just started NRFTW. I'm loving it so far. It's my top game of the year, at least, and has become a contender for one of my favorite games of all time. I'm just wondering if I chose the wrong difficulty.

I'm new to Souls-likes, and have only played Elden Ring and The Lords of the Fallen.

For NRFTW, I built an assassin-type character. His equip load is Fast, he wears Mesh, and he uses the Brothers Keepers daggers. I'm investing most of my points in Dex, Stam, Health, and a little bit in Focus.

I chose Path of the Chosen, which is the middle difficulty, described by the game as "the intended experience." I'm using a controller on PC.

I defeated Warrick the Torn on first attempt at level 8 or 10 (can't remember). I did not come close to dying.

I then defeated Darak (Black Trench encounter) on first attempt at level 15. This was a good fight and I almost died several times.

I have been killed by a few mini-bosses multiple times, like the two big dudes in Orban Glades that you have to fight together for a Bounty quest. I also get smoked pretty easily in the Crucible. I find the non-boss enemies a decent challenge.

Are the bosses of this game just not that difficult? Did you guys struggle with the first 2 bosses at all? Should I increase the game difficulty, or is it going to ramp up as I progress? I'm just now getting through the Nameless Pass, but I haven't found a boss yet.
