Summoning Torn

  1. Is there any difference what specific Torn item you sacrifice?
  2. More items = more rewards, but do the enemies get stronger?
  3. Is it only the bosses that give Torn items as rewards?
  4. Is there any point in scouring the area and clearing it of enemies or should I just go directly to the boss?

I've only summoned once and it was in the Nameless Pass. Fought one other boss previously but this was just after the campaign so I guess it was an auto-summon by the game and the boss was in The Shallows.

My 2nd character (ice mage) just hit level 30 so just wondering if I should play with this build a bit more and farm more stuff or if I should start on a new build. Thanks!

It has begun....

I just wanted to get a collector's edition/steelbook of this anime as it is by far my favourite ever, then got my mind blown regarding my lack of information on 4K Blu-ray so had to sidequest that for a while.

Thanks to u/CrystalCommunication for being patient with me on that sidequest and thanks to everyone who helped by posting in my thread. Got a few movies to get me started; I ordered this version from alltheanime but it's not gonna arrive until Tue or Wed according to the tracking. I did want to get the new steelbook but it seems that I'm going to have to import it from the USA (I'm in the UK), maybe from GKIDS? But then I just can't get over how different Mitsuha looks in the box art and disc art, which is making me look at getting other versions of this instead of the steelbook.

For now, I got some movies and the 4K UHD of Your Name to get me started, then definitely getting other works by Makoto Shinkai. Maybe Weathering with You will be up next.

Round 2, done.

Slight spoiler warning!

First playthrough - 56 hours on an archer build.

Second playthrough - 33 hours on a sorcerer (ice/fire) build. Just broke into Caylen last night. Steam is saying I've played ~89 hours so far. For the second playthrough, I've not done all the rebuilding. That lady in the inn is quite unpleasant so she's the only one still standing in front of her wrecked inn whereas everyone else is on their tier 3 store. I'm in no mood to rebuild her inn! I've also not tried every wand like how I tried every bow for my archer. Interestingly enough, I've also done 5 runs on the Crucible to get two portals and the re-spec statue, but my current house is less fancy than my first one.

I've also not really optimised my weapons and armour. I only have 2 wands at level 10 and 11, my armour is probably like level 6-9. My build is definitely kinda like a glass cannon, but I guess I got good enough to finish bosses in one or two attempts, though I've not done the Crucible boss yet. I've got three of those 40-item storage furniture full of armour and weapons to extract enchantments from, but I've played this build with just gems on normal weapons and armour, though I think my hat is blue/magic.

I've played with a 10% XP boost gem for most of this run and I also did not get that teleport rune so I had to go to a whisper if I wanted to fast travel, I believe I'm at level 27 or 28 with this build even though it's only 33 hours of playtime.

I'd like to test out the wands and more of the runes. I've probably not even tested 50% of the ice runes and maybe only tried 30% of the fire runes and 20% of the electric runes. Zero testing on plague stuff. I've also only tried 3 wands and 2 staves, so definitely a bit more content to try even just on this build.

So for anyone asking if this game is worth it --- about 90 hours of gameplay for £35 boils down to about £0.40 per hour of entertainment. I will be gifting two copies of this game to my sons later this year, most likely for Christmas.

Definitely looking forward to 1.0 release but I can still find things to do in this game for the meantime. I'll be trying out farming for Torn stuff and maximising my weapons and armour and trying out more magic runes. Interestingly, the sorcerer build found the legendary bow so I'll be giving that to my archer build later on. I'll also be maximising my archer build.

Is that it? Have I finished the game?

Marked as spoilers again!

Just wondering if I've now hit the end of what is currently available. 56 hours of gameplay, just hit level 29. Killed Darrak, killed the Riven Twins, saved Marin Village, drained the polluted water from the lumber mill, killed Lara/the bear (damn, that was heart-breaking!), and broke through the mountain into Caylen.

Went back into Sacrament and killed a couple of those big head abominations and harpy-flying things. The map looks clear now and it's only the daily/weekly bounties and challenges that seem to be popping up. I just got this week's new bounties/challenges and I've already done all but 2 of them.

Is that it? Have I finished the game? Or at least for this character. I just want to know if there's more to do before I start up a new game for maybe a sorcerer build. I was hoping to farm more Torn stuff to get the Sinew/Marrow/Husk and upgrade my gear some more too.

Thanks!

EDIT: How can I farm Torn stuff so I can upgrade gear?

Getting dirt in my steam room

Aquatuners and power cables are steel, floor and ceiling are ceramic, pipes and bridges are also ceramic, liquid used is Pwater, temperature is set at -3C and the water is coming in on the left at around 1.9C so it exits to the right at -12C or so, well in range of the -20C limit of the Pwater.

I'm not sure what is getting damaged, I assume it's Pwater that is leaking out and the water is turning to steam immediately (room is at 170C) leaving dirt behind.

Any ideas what to check why this is happening?

EDIT: Found the culprit. There's a blob of Pwater sitting on the entry point of the liquid bridge and can't move out due to the pipe configuration. This blob heats up over time and when it flashes to steam, this is how I get the dirt.

Feature request -- for a bit of sanity when the game releases

Since we got a delay on this game, I hope it's not too late to have a small feature request.

Please, please, pretty please with a cherry on top, can we please have it so that wood and ore rewards are either automatically collected with just one "E" press (I play on PC) just like it does with resources that are dug up? Or even better, have it automatically collected like it does with fishing rewards?

I'll even accept having it as a rune that I have to equip and turn on like the tinkerbelle-light rune. Activate it and all resources are auto-collected after the timing mini-game for as long as the rune effect is active.

I totally don't mind the farming aspect of this game, but looking for resources amongst tall grass looking for the shiny/glowy lights gets tedious after some time and is totally killing the flow and would love a QoL option.

u/thomasmahler please consider this!

Game doesn't start where I last left off?

I'm in a certain part of the game now, but I teleport back to my house, do a few bits of tidying up, and quit the game while I'm at home. When I start up the game later, I'm out in the world on the last whisper I was at, not at home where I was when I quit the game.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Trying to understand bows

I'm playing a bow build and just unlocked the last bow version and decided to test out each bow. Here's what I've seen so far:

  • Different bows have different max ranges based on a long press of the attack button
  • Some bows shoot directly to the enemy, some shoot in an arc upward
  • Different rates of fire, one bow even has a delay in firing the third shot. The bow is appropriately named "Patience"
  • Bows have different moves if you're sprinting. Some make you stop or walk, some have jumping animations, one has a forward low sweep attack
  • Most only fire one arrow per shot, one or two fires two, and one bow fires in a spread
  • Obviously, different bows need different attribute scores

Now my questions:

  1. Assuming no enhancements or facets and that you meet the required attribute scores, do all bows do the same damage at the same level?
  2. Since we can customise enchantments, is bow selection really just about which rate of fire or move set the player likes?

I think there's a special bow in the game (yellow background) but I've not found it yet, so this is just about the bows you can buy/craft in the game.

Best place to get a copy of this masterpiece?

Loved this anime for ages. With the anniversary coming up, it's making me want to start a video library. Where's the best place to get a copy of this and what's the best version to get?

I'm based in the UK but no issues ordering from elsewhere so long as they ship to the UK.

Incidentally, while I do have a PC and laptop, none of these have any form of physical media player but I assume I can buy a blu-ray or whatever player somewhere. I don't have any consoles (PS5/XBOX).

How long is this game at this point in time?

Marked as spoiler just in case other people wouldn't want to know.

Yes, I know we're getting a wipe when the game comes out to 1.0, but I'm having so much fun that it's really insane how much value-for-money this game is. I started out as a sword+shield build but now have fully morphed into an archer build. I just finished killing the two-headed prisoner boss then almost immediately killed the boss in the sewer. I'm now level 15-16 going through this new area I discovered through the south east gate. I'm not sure if it was open before; I definitely went to this section of the town but I can't remember if it was sealed or not. The one on the east is definitely closed.

I thought the game would end after the two-headed prisoner boss. Nope. So maybe after the sewer guy. Nope. At this point, I'm wondering how far I can play into this game!

Without spoiling too much, how much more of the game is left? 20%? 30%? 50%? Steam says I've played for just under 30 hours at this point.

Thanks!

Hoarding weapons and armour?

I'm not sure if I understand this correctly --- any weapons or armour that I pick up, if I don't use them, I can sell them to any vendor but I can also re-craft those weapons/armour later on if I need to? Essentially "buying them back" via crafting?

As someone that tends to hoard stuff, this is awesome if I am understanding the system right.

IMSA Daytona follow up. I'm not even trying anymore.

Made this post yesterday, asking about all the crimes that are happening in Daytona. I drive IMSA open series in a GTP.

I did one more race after that post. I did three races today. I'm not even trying anymore. I usually qualify mid-pack in my SoF with about less than 1s difference between myself and the top guy. However, I don't qualify with a quali setup, I use the race setup.

In two races, I qualified mid-pack. In the last two, I didn't even post a quali time. It doesn't matter. When the race starts, I go about 80% throttle and move to the side. I'm at the back of the pack by turn 1. I brake super early in case someone spins out. I take it easy for 2 laps, and start building up at the end of the 2nd lap and start doing my race pace at the end of the 3rd lap.

Most of the time, I gain 2-3 positions even before the end of the 1st lap. Turns 4, 6, 7, or the bus stop -- I'm alert but not for an overtake opportunity but on the lookout for incidents and to make sure I steer clear of that. By the time we catch up to the GT3s, I'm mid-pack. By the time I'm thinking about fuel, I'm in the top 5.

My last 4 races, the ones where I'm not even trying anymore, I had 3 podiums and 1 top 5. Three races were +140 to maybe +300 SoF higher than my iR. One was +50 SoF higher. I even crossed an iR milestone I had set for myself ages ago which is rendered a little bittersweet because I got it without even trying.

It's a very, very odd feeling.

Earlier this season, Mosport clicked for me and while I used to be scared of that track, it was fun and challenging being able to push myself during races this season. I was able to improve my time at Interlagos simply because of getting better at the Senna S and being able to push slightly more in the technical section of the track. Monza, which I expected to be carnage, was nice and neat and was an overall pleasant experience. Turn 1-2 was my biggest struggle before but it was so much easier now and I was able to get more control on other corners of the track, again allowing me to push more. Fuji, oh how I used to hate Fuji. I might as well put ice skates on the car seeing the amount of spins I used to do. Not this season. To say that I made that track my b!tch is putting it mildly. I greatly enjoyed that track this time around.

But Daytona? I love Daytona and raced it a lot in PCup on the old car. Learning how to take the e-sports line, learning how to tame the bus stop, fond memories, so I was looking forward to IMSA coming to Daytona. I practice, I qualify well, only to be taken out by people who don't seem to realise lap 1 turn 1 meant cold tyres. These same people who were weaving all over the place on the pace lap. Or by GT3s who don't seem to listen to their spotter telling them a faster car is approaching, who ignore the blue flag, who don't use their mirrors when moving from one side of the track to another. It's a 4-6 minute repair time if I'm lucky, not counting tow time. Usually it's a 12+ minute repair.

So I stopped trying --- and ended up with better results. Does anyone think the race quality will get better during the weekend?

Apologies for the lengthy TED talk, just had to get it off my chest. Drive safe out there.

Can we adjust enemy respawn rates and loot/resource respawn rates?

I like how enemies don't respawn right away, but they still do after a time. Is there a way so that this time is even longer? Or that their respawn is less, ie instead of 4 enemies respawning, only 2 or 3 respawn?

I'd also love to have the ability to adjust loot/resource respawn rates. As someone that likes to collect stuff, going across "empty" areas gives me a sense of accomplishment, but maybe need to adjust loot/resource drop rates to compensate for this.

Two community chests?

Just got this game, just got set up in the Rookery. I noticed there's a community chest where the beds are but there's also a community chest in the lowest floor. The two chests don't share contents.

  1. What is the "community"? Is my game open to other people? The last thing I want is someone else taking my stored loot.
  2. Why are the two chests not sharing the same content? Initially, I thought one was a community chest and the other was a personal chest.

"Pit Window" question

I'm racing IMSA and CC would tell me that the pit window opens at lap X and will close at lap Y.

A couple of races now, I noticed someone would pit early, so for example if pit window opens at lap 9, they'd pit at lap 8 or even lap 7, so I think they pit due to damage or something and will have to pit again later for fuel, but they don't and run until the end of the race.

On at least 2 instances, I'm actually following the guy down the straight then see him pit. I continue on, then after turn 1 or turn 2 on Fuji, CC tells me pit window is now open so that means the guy I was following pit early, but then he never pits again for the rest of the race.

Is this a bug in the iRacing rules? What's the point of a pit window if people can pit early anyway?

I can understand if people wreck on lap 6 and sit in the pits, pit window opens at lap 9, and they finish their repairs at lap 10, so they go out of the pits and don't have to pit again, but this isn't that scenario.

Transit tube behind objects

ONI base game.

I'm now making transit tubes and the transit tube crossing acts like a wall or floor, which is fine for most uses but I want to cross certain areas that also have stairs. Is there a way to make the transit tube go behind the stairs and the fire pole without cutting off the stairs/pole access?

Pacu reproduction rates?

It's been a while since I've pacu-farmed and I can't seem to get this right this time and I've looked at tutorials and wiki but can't figure it out....

My Pacus are all tame now, maybe 3rd or 4th generation pacu, but the reproduction rate is still only 7%/cycle. I'm sure it was much higher than this once I had everything set up. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: while I have some of the DLCs, all of them are disabled so I'm just playing on the base game.

Other racers and their incident points?

Just wondering if there was any way to find out about another racer's incident point accumulation during a race? Like how the replay shows you when you've accrued an incident point as you watch the replay, but for another driver.

I was doing a race where the guy in front had respectable pace but would have a good number of moments during the time I was following him. Watching the replay, he binned it in Canada Corner and I thought he was pitting to do a repair but looks like it was a drive-through penalty. A few laps later, he's DQ'd. I thought it'd be great to see which of his moments were actually penalised as off tracks. He didn't seem to hit anyone for a 4x so getting 20+ incident point for off tracks is just wild for me.

How do you test different cars of the same class? ie GT3s or GTPs

Just looking for some tips here. I'm not skilled enough to notice the fine nuances so maybe someone can help me out.

Background - MX-5 then PCup then GTP

I got the Porsche GTP, been racing it for a few seasons now, and I'm wondering if I should get another GTP. I've tried all of them and maybe I noticed a bit of pointy-ness in the Acura and maybe I feel like the Cadillac is heavy, but maybe it's all placebo effect based on what I've read.

I have tried GT3s and I can tell the difference between the Porsche Cup (both old and new) vs. the Porsche GT3. I've also tried the LMP2 and LMP3 and I can tell the difference between GTP vs LMP2 vs LMP3. The problem is telling the difference between one GTP vs. another.

I can probably tell the difference between different GT3s due to weight distribution (front vs mid vs rear engine) but I'm not a GT3 driver so no point in trying out those cars.

So what's the best way to try out different cars of the same classes? In this specific case, GTPs? Do I just load the baseline setup for each car and do laps and not even touch things like brake bias? Obviously all testing will be on the same track though I'm not sure if demo drive gives the exact same weather each time or if there is variation between sessions.

Thanks in advance for any help!

iRacing down 22 July?

Servers are down, demo drive is on, but I don't remember seeing any announcements for maintenance and usually, any work is done by the time I get home.

Anyone have any idea what's going on at the moment? No announcements on the iRacing forums either, last one was for yesterday, 21 July.
