I'm sure we've all heard similar claims last few weeks and rn people talking about that are all over my social media feeds. And I mean, where did it even came from? Like I get its the anniversary of Roswell etc but besides that, is there anything that suggests the US Government is preparing anything? Like at this point wouldnt there be at least an announcement of a press briefing or something unusual planned at the white house for tomorrow? I'm not american so the news might not be reaching me but I don't understand why people act like tomorrow is some sort of a big day?

50 years ago people would question your life choices, your sexual orientation and mental health if you dared to mention you had a different plan for yourself than wanting a husband/wife and group of kids. 20 or 30 years ago, people would side eye you if you did as much as imply that you are anything else than cisgender and heterosexual.

It can still happen of course but to a much lesser degree

This is just another phase of personal emancipation. Just as people these 10-30 years ago discovered they are happier being with someone of the same sex rather than suppresing who they are and forcing themselves into traditional heterosexual relationships, now people are discovering they do not need a relationship AT ALL in order to be happy. I am confident in another 20 years from now we will also be more visible and there will be more people like us as well.
