I Learned the Hard Way to Watch Where I Step in When Exploring

So I’m giving Fallout 4 another try and I’ve put about 13.5 hours into the game so far. It never fails to amaze me just how good the open world in Fallout is. I’ll be exploring, getting distracted by random locations, looting everything I see, and completely forget what I was originally supposed to be doing.

Then there’s moments like this where the game decides to remind me to watch where the hell I’m walking. I genuinely did NOT see that mine until it was already too late. One second I’m chilling, next second I’m getting sent to the loading screen.

Madden 27 Pass Blocking Is Absolutely Broken Right Now

At first I genuinely wasn’t seeing what everyone was talking about with the pass blocking. I thought maybe people were exaggerating or just holding onto the ball too long.

But the more I’ve played Madden 27, especially in Franchise, the more obvious it’s become. Pass blocking is absolutely broken right now.

And before anyone says “adjust the sliders”, I have. I’ve tried multiple different settings. Hell, I even put Pass Blocking AND Run Blocking at 100 just to experiment and see how much of a difference it would make. It barely matters.

My O-Line still gets absolutely ran through on plays where they should at least be able to hold a block for a couple seconds. You’ll have defensive linemen getting through almost immediately, linemen completely missing assignments, blockers standing around while someone comes through untouched, and sometimes the pocket just collapses before the play can even develop.

And it’s not like I expect to sit in the pocket for 7-8 seconds every play. If I’m facing an elite pass rusher or sending five guys against a bad offensive line, I EXPECT pressure. That’s football. But there’s a difference between realistic pressure and your offensive line basically forgetting how to block.
What really sold me on this being an actual problem was cranking the blocking sliders to 100 and STILL watching the same shit happen. At that point, what exactly are the sliders even changing?

It makes longer developing routes almost pointless because half the time you’re forced to throw the ball before your receivers even get into their breaks. And when you start having to build your entire offense around getting the ball out immediately just because the blocking logic is busted, it stops being challenging and starts being frustrating.

With that being said, EA, please fix the pass blocking. I’m actually enjoying Madden 27 otherwise, but this genuinely makes the game borderline unplayable at times. I don’t want the O-Line to be overpowered. I just want them to actually block like an NFL offensive line and for ratings, matchups, protection adjustments, and sliders to actually matter.

Rant over.

Am I the only one who thinks the SCAR is the most underrated weapon?

I got well over enough hours in this game to where I’ve used pretty much every weapon extensively, and one opinion I’ve never really changed is that the SCAR (Desert Rifle) is criminally underrated.

Whenever people rank the Tier 2 rifles, it almost always goes AK > M16 > SCAR, or people don’t even mention it at all. I get why. The AK has insane damage and the M16 is probably the easiest rifle to pick up and use because of its fire rate, accuracy,
and huge magazine.

But honestly… I find myself performing better with the SCAR in a lot of situations.

The burst fire gets a lot of hate because people think it’s “slower,” but if you can actually control your shots, it’s ridiculously accurate. At medium to long range, it absolutely melts Special Infected. Smokers, Hunters, Jockeys, Spitters… most of the time they’re dead before they even become a real threat.

The thing I like most is that it rewards accuracy instead of just holding M1. Every burst stays tight, recoil is almost nonexistent, and landing headshots is incredibly easy. Against common infected, one burst can clear multiple zombies lined up, so I never really feel like I’m wasting ammo.

People always bring up the lower DPS compared to the AK, and on paper they’re right. If you’re mag-dumping a Tank from point blank range, the AK is obviously king. But outside of Tanks, I honestly don’t think the difference is as noticeable as people make it out to be.

I actually think the SCAR is one of the safest rifles in the game. It’s forgiving, incredibly accurate, and doesn’t punish you for taking fights at range. It’s especially nice on Expert where missing shots can snowball really fast.

Overall. I feel the weapon is overshadowed because the AK has the highest damage and the M16 is the “classic” rifle everyone defaults to. The SCAR sits in this weird middle ground where people dismiss it because it isn’t the fastest or strongest on paper.

Maybe it’s just my playstyle, but I’d take the SCAR over the M16/AK almost every time.

Curious where everyone else stands. Does the SCAR deserve more love, or am I in the minority here?

Can we all agree this is the universal L4D2 experience? The entire lobby just turns and looks at the shotgun guy.

Title.

Will MW4 finally be the CoD that gives MnK players a fair experience?

One thing that has me genuinely optimistic is the removal of bloom. Infinity Ward has already confirmed that hipfire bloom is gone and that weapon handling has been rebuilt to better reflect player input, which sounds like a huge step in the right direction.

But I’m curious… do you guys think this is finally the year where mouse & keyboard gets the attention it’s been missing?

Personally, I still think MW19 was the last COD where MnK actually felt great. The aiming felt responsive, visibility was solid, and your shots went where you expected them to. Since then, every game has added something that made MnK feel worse, whether it was excessive visual recoil, random bloom, aim punch, weapon sway, muzzle smoke, or having your point of aim constantly shifting around.

I’m not asking for controller aim assist to be removed. I just want both inputs to feel balanced and rewarding in their own ways. If bloom is gone and they’re rebuilding weapon handling around player input, maybe this is finally the reset MnK players have been waiting for. At the same time though, i really don't wanna get my hopes up.

Anyone else actually prefer Casuals over Standard Warzone?

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I’ve pretty much stopped playing Standard Warzone.

Don’t get me wrong, Casuals is obviously easier because of the bots, but somehow I still find myself having more fun. You still run into real squads that know what they’re doing, so it’s not like every game is completely free. It feels like a better balance between actually relaxing and still having gunfights.

For context, I used to average 3-5 Warzone wins a day with around 6–10 kills a game, sometimes more depending on the lobby & my rotations, so this isn’t coming from someone who can’t compete. I’ve put plenty of time into Standard, and I genuinely enjoyed the challenge for a long time.

But nowadays? Standard just feels exhausting. Every lobby turns into people playing like there’s $100K on the line. Half the teams are holding rooftops, pre-aiming every angle, stacking four deep, and if you survive one fight, you’ve got three more teams crashing you before you can even plate. It gets old fast.

Maybe I’m just getting older, but after work I don’t always want to sweat my ass off every single match. I just want to hop on, get into some good gunfights, maybe drop 10+ kills, have a shot at a win, and actually enjoy myself instead of feeling mentally drained after two games.

Am I the only one who’s moved over to Casuals, or are more people starting to feel the same way? I’m genuinely curious where everyone else stands.

GameSir G7 Pro 8K might honestly be the best pro controller for the money.

I’ve gone through a stupid amount of pro controllers over the years. SCUF, Battle Beaver, AIM, and a few others. Out of all of them, Battle Beaver has always been my favorite. SCUF, on the other hand… yeah, not a fan. Way too many issues for what they charge.
I decided to pick up the GameSir G7 Pro 8K because I kept hearing good things, and after using it for a bit, I can honestly say I’m impressed.

The only thing that took me a minute to get used to was the rear paddles. They’re placed a little differently than what I was used to on my Battle Beaver, so my muscle memory was fighting me at first. After a couple days though, it became second nature.

For $89.99, I genuinely don’t know what else comes
close.

You’re getting TMR sticks, microswitch face buttons, trigger stops, 8K polling on PC, gyro, swappable stick caps, software to customize pretty much everything, and the controller itself actually feels premium. It doesn’t have that cheap plastic feeling people expect when they see the price.

I’ve played on controllers that cost well over $200, and it’s honestly crazy how close this thing gets. Some parts of it I actually prefer. The buttons feel clicky, the sticks feel incredibly smooth, and everything just feels responsive. Whether I’m playing COD or anything competitive, it feels great.

Now, i'm not saying it’s perfect. Like I said, the paddle placement took a little adjusting, but once I got used to it, I stopped thinking about it.

I know GameSir has been getting a lot more attention lately, but after actually using the G7 Pro 8K, I get why. It isn’t just hype. This shit is actually legit and i honestly can't see myself using another pro controller anymore.

If someone were to ask me about which pro controller to get? I'd 100% recommend to get this. I never thought I’d say that after owning Battle Beavers, but GameSir really knocked it out of the park with this one.

If anyone is on the fence about buying one? Buy it. You will not regret it one bit.

Happy Gaming 🙌🏻

The Criticism Is 100% Justified

I’m seeing people say this game is “overhated,” and while I respect everyone’s opinion, I genuinely don’t understand that argument. The core issue isn’t the Vietnam setting, the gunplay, or even the gameplay loop itself, it’s the optimization, and that’s where the game completely falls apart for me.

Maybe I’m being harder on it because I’m a sucker for Vietnam, era shooters. I played BF2 Vietnam religiously back in the day, along with Rising Storm 2, Vietcong, and pretty much any Vietnam title I could get my hands on. That’s exactly why this is so disappointing to me. I wanted this game to succeed. I wanted it to be the definitive Vietnam experience. The setting, atmosphere, and potential are all there, but the optimization issues constantly pull me out of the experience.

For a modern FPS, the performance is honestly unacceptable. Constant frame drops, inconsistent frametimes, stuttering during firefights, random FPS fluctuations, and hardware utilization that seems all over the place. It doesn’t matter whether you’re running a high-end rig or a mid-range setup, because there are plenty of reports from people experiencing the exact same issues.

The frustrating part is that the game actually has potential. The atmosphere is great, the sound design is solid, and some of the firefights can be incredibly immersive. But none of that matters when the game struggles to maintain smooth performance. A shooter lives and dies by responsiveness, and optimization is a huge part of that.

I think some people are confusing criticism with hate. Calling out poor optimization isn’t “hating” on a game, it’s wanting the product to be better. If players are spending money on a title in 2026, they shouldn’t have to fight the performance more than they fight the enemy team.

So no, I don’t think it’s overhated. I think a lot of the criticism is deserved. The foundation is there, but until the optimization improves significantly, I can’t personally recommend it. A game can have all the potential in the world, but if it runs like shit, people are going to call it out. That’s just the reality of it.
