Weird graphical glitch on FF9

Weird graphical glitch on FF9

I'm playing on my phone. Vulkan renderer, no texture upscaling or filters, 4:3 aspect ratio and all of that.

As you can see, my Ramuh card has broken pixels on the bottom, another two cards share the same problem.

At first I thought my game files were corrupted so I reinstalled the game and even sent my save file to another mobile device and the problem persisted.

So I thought it must be that my card in the memory card save file is corrupted, so I deleted the card and got another copy and no difference besides the arrows position obviously.

So now I think it's either the emulator or a hidden setting I'm not aware about, also this glitch only came to my awareness on disc 3, disc 1 and 2 had no problem whatsoever.

FF9 correct aspect ratio

I've been playing the game on duckstation with par 1:1 aspect ratio, which renders the image with pixel perfect pixels, however people say these games were meant for crt tvs which are 4:3.

Overall it doesn't seem to be consistent. In the bios menu, the squares are perfect, but the cd image is oval in par 1:1, while 4:3 the squares look like rectangles and the cd is a perfect circle.

The aspect ratio back then wasn't consistent at all and it varied from game to game. Some bothered to take into account the tvs of that time, others didn't give a shi and let tv distort the image. Trying to figure out which is the case of ff9.

With 4:3 the button prompts are not perfect circles, but the backgrounds and the tetra master cards look correct. In par 1:1 it's the opposite. I'm going with 4:3 from now on since wanting it or not it's what we had back in the day, but what's your opinion?

Why 12 power belts???

I only need 3 power belts. 1 for safe keeping and 2 for grand helms for Freya and Rusty. Why the guides recommend more than this???

Best way to play FF9 on mobile?

I wanted to try it out atleast one game of this franchise, and 9 is my choice.

I watched a video about all the versions off FF9, and unfortunately each version has its flaws.

I'm playing on my phone and I'm open to emulation, there's also the apk version but there's no meguro mod for it apparently

SMT VV didn't install

I downloaded the repack and ran the setup, but it stops midway through with a error message.

I redownload 3 times and even downloaded the dodi version and same error.

Can anyone else download it so I can if it's a problem with the file or my pc?

Trying to calibrate to colors of my monitor and TV

I noticed the grays and white were way too greenish for my taste when set to warm 2/max, and had to reduce the green values in the white point settings quite a lot (-20 on gain and -4 - -6 on offset). Is this correct? A lot of people just do very minor adjustments and that doesn't seen right.

Also, is there colors that I shouldn't mess up with? I've heard that you shouldn't increase them more than 0 and you can only reduce two colors

Which battery plan should I choose in Windows?

When I go to settings there's energy saving, balanced and performance, but when I go into the more advanced options there's stuff like High Performance and Ultimate performance. When I select one of these busted ones the normal options just disappear.

Which should I use? Is Ultimate performance really for high end pcs? Is it necessary, harmful?

Can't respect Reload anymore

Initially I kinda respected it for what it was and argued hard for it, but after seeing Revival I'm really upset.

They made Reload with scraps, a title that saved them from bankruptcy. While Revival got AAA budget, even the trailer is better directed.

And the biggest irony of all, it has Golden content. 70 bucks for everything btw, while Reload is 95 bucks total and it doesn't have FEMC nor the same production levels.

It genuinely feels disrespectful
