Conquering the known world on horseback while infirm? No problem. Razing settled cities in order to make more grazing land? Can't do it.

The ultimate guide to creating living demigods. An updated version of my old guide, which has aged somewhat poorly.

All stat boosts and chapters will be emboldened for ease of navigation. This guide is written based on patch 1.19 and parts may become irrelevant to later updates.

This guide is written under the assumption that you have at least a few DLCs, including Royal Court, Roads to Power, Legacy of Iberia, Legends of the Dead and All Under Heaven.

Chapter 1: Getting started on a long road.

  • So, you want to make a living demigod? This guide will detail the setup, faith, culture, legacies and general strategy for creating 100 stat monsters in a fast enough time to enjoy before the malice of old age strikes you down.
  • The first step to creating demigods is creating your initial ruler. It will take at least a few generations before your demigods can take shape.
  • My personal favourite is an adventurer with herculean and either a learning or martial lifestyle. The culture is up to you, but I would argue that the Kochinim culture is one of the stronger ones for an adventurer start since it allows for easy hybridization once you've picked a spot to conquer. Greek is incredibly strong with Religious Patronage, if you conquer a place like Ireland and diverge into Fervent Temple Builders you can rack up a whole boatload of renown early on.
  • Adventurer start is one of the strongest thanks to a multitude of factors. Easy access to the conqueror trait, an incredibly strong journal item with a whopping +40% lifestyle exp and a strong military foundation from which you can spread your dynasty quickly.
  • Ireland is a surprisingly good start, provided you're starting in 867 (which you honestly should be for this). It has an abundance of empty tribal holdings which you can fill if you have fervent temple builders. Once you fill all those holdings with temples and feudalize, you keep them. The only downsides are the frequent viking invasions and poor development.
  • Once you have settled (ideally conquered using the conqueror adventurer decision) be sure to hybridize with the local culture for both innovations and certain traditions that may be difficult to achieve otherwise. Cultures with monastic traditions, fervent temple builders, religious patronage or mythical ancestors are highly desirable.
  • If you don't feel like starting with an adventurer, Dyre the Stranger is a fantastic start due to his affiliation with the Sigurdr dynasty, Norse culture and his Genius trait.
  • To really get the ball rolling you will need to indulge in one of the oldest CK3 traditions: eugenics. On that note....

Chapter 2: A eugenics program for the ages.

  • The key ingredient to a demigod is eugenics, of course. It's fairly simple, if you're willing to do a bit of searching. I would recommend creating separate filters in the character search menu for both genius and general inheritable traits.
  • This ensures you don't have to spend too much time looking through an endless horde of boring, traitless characters every time you want to hook up either your ruler or your dynasty with some inheritable traits.
  • Blood should be the first of the dynasty legacies you should invest into, though, you realistically need only the first two legacies to start the program in earnest.
  • With some luck you should be able to get strong blood within 3-4 generations. Perhaps even less if you're diligent in searching for prime traits and lucky enough to roll at least 1 tier 3 inheritable trait.
  • Inbreed as much as your faith allows once you have a suitable amount of dynasty members to pull inheritable traits from. This is really sped up if you choose a faith with polygamy.
  • You don't need a perfect ruler with all tier 3 traits + fecund, but it really does help. Shoot for this as soon as you're able.

Chapter 3: A demigodly Government

  • There are two governments in particular that excel in creating demigods, both figurative and literal, though you don't really require them. Administrative and Mandala. If you're going down the administrative route, be sure to grab the bureaucratic cultural pillar if you don't already have it.
  • Both Mandala and Administrative excel in realm stability as they have a simple inheritance system, you don't want to be wasting time trying to put things back together post inheritance if you can help it.
  • Administrative is by far the most straightforward path to creating 100 stat demigods. You have access to the mentor in governance scheme, at max it grants +2 to all stats (except prowess). With the fourth administrative dynasty legacy you can build the Cabinet of Curiosity in your villa. This beautiful building (provided it doesn't bug out) grants +2 Learning & Stewardship at level 5 influence.
  • Another benefit to admin is you have access to fairly consistent tier 5 educations through a maxed out book collection. This is actually more useful for your council compared to your ruler or heir as you want a T4 education so you can go to university for the extra 3 perks in your respective lifestyle.
  • The stable upgraded with kennels is a fairly solid choice as you can adopt dogs for a minor health boost alongside a sprinkling of diplomacy and prowess.
  • Mandala is another decent choice for creating demigods, in this case, more literal ones. I would start with the aspect of destruction. Not only is it great for early expansion, it's one of the easier aspects to level and at the highest tier with the highest devotion level it grants a whopping +24 martial.
  • Aspect of trickery is incredibly annoying to level up, save this one for when you have a bunch of landed dynasty members post conquest. Trying to do this one from the start is like pulling teeth.
  • Aspect of serenity is a tricky one, but less annoying. Be sure to socket frequent festivities to ensure constant feasting.
  • Aspect of creation is quite easy to level up as it encourages you to do what you already do normally. That is to say, build buildings and pop out children.
  • The best aspect will vary depending on the stat you need the most (this will usually be martial, intrigue and stewardship). Be aware that you cannot upgrade temples as Mandala government.
  • Beware of dying with Fragile Bones in the Mandala government as for what ever reason it doesn't count as natural causes for the purpose of reaching higher devotion levels. I found that one out the hard way.

Chapter 4: Gaining my religion.

  • Your religion is a fairly important aspect of achieving demigod status. Ideally, you want to pick a faith with a fair amount of stat per devotion boosts. Bonus if said faith grants access to certain stat boosting buildings. All faiths are judged based on possession of all stat based holy sites.
  • Ideally, your religion should have minimal boosts coming from holdings as domain limit is a precious resource as of patch 1.19.
  • If we're sticking with premade religions there is a veritable abundance of decent choices, though custom faiths will always have the advantage of player based optimization. That being said...
  • For Christianity, you have many options, but a few stand out. Messalianism, and Bogomilism are solid picks, both have lay clergy and have Constantinople as a holy site. Quite important as it grants +2 Intrigue/fame. Messalianism is great for inbreeding and Bogomilism is fantastic as it has pacifism to squeeze out those precious domain limit slots.
  • Islam is outstanding with most of their faiths with all of them having at least some diplomacy/devotion. Maturdism has decent tenets alongside a +1 Stewardship/devotion holy site. Nizarism is where it's at, but not directly for its tenets. It has a whopping +2 Diplomacy/devotion and +1 Intrigue/devotion.
  • Hinduism, while not being one of the best religions for stat boosts is one of the best for building monasteries thanks to the Preservation tenet allowing you to build monasteries in any holding. Incredibly powerful with warrior monks and monastic communities. Use it to max out monasteries in all of your holdings before switching to a better religion.
  • Pagan faiths are still a decent choice, though, they lack access to the good stat buildings that Islamic and Christian faiths do. They have a major advantage in being able to reform and tweak to your choosing. Zunism and Kushitism are pretty solid with +2 Stewardship/devotion. Asatru is also fairly solid with +2 Prowess and +1 Stewardship/devotion.
  • Other religions and faiths. aren't too terribly relevant to making demigods. Most of their holy site bonuses are effectively irrelevant for the purpose of maxing stats.
  • The real bread and butter lies in custom faiths, allowing you to tweak and optimize to the best of your abilities. Christianity and Islam are the two religions you'll want to base your custom faiths off of. Their only real weakness is the inability to socket warmonger, something that is rather negligible when you've already spread your dynasty map wide. Though, I don't understand why Islam can't socket it considering two of its faiths have the tenet *shrugs*.
  • One tenet I've fallen totally in love with is Mind without Mind. It's incredibly strong with a whopping -50% chance of infirmity, pair this with cultivation and only bad luck will see you infirm. If you optimize for long life, you may only die with a few lower impact aging traits.
  • Aniconism is a fantastic trait for Abrahamic religions with the discounts and the ability to churn out piety quickly through artifact destruction. Great early on, but it falls of later into the game when you're incredibly wealthy.
  • Great holy wars are great for both giving you a bit of martial and prowess with the warrior of the faith trait (Mujahid/Crusader). As such, Struggle and Submission (Islam) or armed pilgrimages (Christianity) are ideal. Pair it with Pursuit of Power and you can really spread your dynasty efficaciously.
  • Non Abrahamic faiths have a leg up in being able to grab Warmonger. An excellent perk that allows you to walk on the warpath without penalty and if you have North Germanic heritage, it will allow for berserkers.
  • To start I like to go with a custom Hindu faith that has Mind without Mind, Warmonger and Preservation. This lets you expand like mad and fill your holdings to the brim with monasteries to take advantage of warrior monks and monastic communities.
  • Later on I switch to custom faith based out of Nizarism to pick up those precious devotion bonuses and the Hagia Sophia. Mind without Mind, Struggle and Submission and Pursuit of Power are my personal favourites. If you feel like settling down and chilling out, pacifism is a good swap for Struggle and Submission.

Chapter 5: Becoming a cultured ruler.

  • Culture is one of the fundamental pillars of creating a demigod. How fitting then, that the strongest cultures prioritize temples. You'll want to lean towards cultural tenets that either help you build up temples and either indirectly or directly increase the more difficult stats. (Martial, Intrigue and Stewardship)
  • Any culture that starts with either Fervent Temple Builders or Religious Patronage is incredibly strong for early renown gain. Be sure to either diverge or hybridize to pick up the trait you're missing. Greek and Kochinim are decent picks.
  • Warrior Monks and Monastic Communities are incredibly strong and should be placed in your culture as soon as possible. At max level each monastery provides +4 learning, prowess and marital per monastery. If you pair this with Hinduism's Preservation tenet, you can really maximize the bonus from the aforementioned cultures.
  • The Eastern Roman/Byzantine cultural pillar is almost essential if you're going administrative, Both the Crown of Justinian and the Statue of the Four Tetrarchs only grant their fantastic bonuses if you're of that heritage.
  • Marital ceremonies is an incredibly underrated pick. Sure, you can't divorce your spouse, but you gain a whopping +25% extra skill from your spouse, rounded up instead of down. Pair this with Loyalty and Respect from the Gallant martial tree and you can hit the cap of 90% of your spouse's skill. Late game, when you have a genetically and educationally perfect dynasty that can translate into 30+ of any respective stat. Once you have high stats, it's easy to dispose of your spouse should ever become useless.
  • Ritualized Friendship is an alright tenet, the small amount of stat gain in exchange for increased stress may prove detrimental in old age.
  • Legalistic is a solid pick as it's already a decent trait, made even better by gaining 1 Diplomacy/fame.
  • Art of War or Reverence for Veterans is a surprisingly decent trait for boosting Martial, though, not directly. Each tier 3 commander trait gives +1 martial and if you can load your heir with 3+ commander traits, you can gain a small sprinkling of martial.
  • Avid Falconers/Prolific Hunters is good for boosting your hunter trait as it cuts the cooldown in half and the latter gives travel speed, an essential part of maximizing lifestyle gain in a short time.
  • Jirga is an inferior version of Legalistic and as such grants +1 Diplomacy/fame. This bonus unfortunately does not stack with Legalistic, there is little reason to choose it outside flavour.

Chapter 6: Legacies for the ages.

If you've made it this far, good on you, have a cookie.

  • To start, I would recommend enabling the option on game stat to allow unrestricted dynasty legacies for the player. If this feels too cheaty, the legacies you really need aren't incredibly difficult to grab. If you have the former enabled, you can ignore any line marked with an asterisk.
  • Legacies are not ordered by priority, pick them up in any order you choose. Some, however, are better the earlier you grab them.
  • A long held tradition in the CK3 community is to open with blood. This isn't a terrible choice as you want to kickstart your eugenics program ASAP. You realistically only need the first two legacies in order to get the ball rolling. The later perks are great when there is plenty of renown to go around.
  • Kin is what I love to max out before blood. Not only does graceful aging prevent the old age prowess malice it gives you a random stat every year starting at age 30.
  • *****Be sure to save up enough for two dynasty legacies and move your capital to the Iberia region. This allows you to dip your toe into their respective legacies without involving yourself in the struggle. Only the first two legacies from Coterie and Metropolitan are really relevant towards making demigods.
  • Once you've settled into an administrative government be sure to focus on getting up to the level 4 legacy to unlock the cabinet of curiosities. That +2 Learning & Stewardship/influence is beautiful.
  • *****It would be beneficial, but not essential to dip your toe into a Mandala government in order to grab the Divine Aspirations legacy tree. The +5 life expectancy from the 4th perk is nice to have. Ideally, grab this if you're still rocking a Hindu faith.
  • The activities line is fantastic for boosting the various activity trait lines. Be sure to grab it in the event you're swimming in renown.
  • *North Germanic legacies aren't great for stats, but they are great for starting a military snowball. Be sure to pick them up if you feel like it.
  • Law is a great renown sink as that +1 domain limit at the end really helps you squeeze out precious domain limit boosts.

Chapter 7: Stats upon stats upon stats.

  • General Stat Boosts: Lifestyles are the first and most obvious way to work towards a demigod. Learn on the job is probably one of the most impactful bonuses. When you hit late game and your council is stacked with 30+ stat rulers, you really feel the benefits.
  • Make sure your heir has both court perks from your respective court type, +2 in two stats and +15% lifestyle exp in their respective lifestyle trees.
  • If you really want to maximize lifestyle exp gain, be sure to minimize your realm size, a small kingdom at max grandeur can grant upwards of +40% lifestyle exp. This does however, come at a cost of domain limit. Choose wisely.
  • Be sure to raise a future spouse with a specific stat in mind. Stewardship or intrigue are my personal picks. It's better to focus your spouse on one specific stat, especially with Marital Ceremonies and Loyalty and Respect. It's nice to be fed 30+ stewardship/intrigue just from a healthy marriage. If you're admin, be sure to mentor in governance after they hit 16 and they gain the republican heir trait. For some reason, they don't gain it if they have the Governor trait.
  • Be sure to check the ledger for any lifestyle exp boosting books, you can filter out any unnecessary artifacts. If you still have the best version of the adventurer lifestyle book, be sure to be running it 100% of the time.
  • If you're able to, be sure to create a witch coven. An extra skill point here and there helps out greatly. The less time to spend getting to your capstones, the better.
  • Once you inherit, be sure to go to university as soon as possible, as a T5 education not only gives you an extra domain limit, it gives you extra lifestyle exp and stats. Some T5 educations, however, are better than others. I will mention those in the stat specific paragraphs. If you can swing it, a Chinese university is fantastic for the Confucian Education trait. Every stat boost helps.
  • Be sure to go on expedited pilgrimages and hit as many points of interest as possible, this will really kick start your goal of 100 in all stats.
  • Grand Weddings can be a surprisingly good way to boost your lifestyle exp, be sure to host as many as possible. More will be detailed in the intrigue section of this chapter.
  • Monument Expeditions: Monument expeditions are one of the most consistent ways to raise your stats, use these to fill in the gaps of stats you feel deficient in. With good RNG you can really boost stats.
  • Diplomacy: Diplomacy is a surprisingly simple stat to boost. The game loves to feed you per fame or devotion bonuses. A T5 education isn't the worst, but it isn't the best either. Be sure to focus down the Matriarch/Patriarch branch as there are a load of good stat boosts and stress loss perks. You can double dip this bonus alongside dark insights if you reset your perks. The Poet trait is mostly RNG to snag but it does grant +1 Diplomacy/fame. If you have the Legalistic or Jirga cultural tenet and have the Just trait, you can squeeze out +1 Diplomacy/fame. Holy and Heroic legends grant +1/2 Diplomacy per devotion/fame at illustrious and mythical level respectively. Maxed Hastiluder and Reveler grant small amounts of diplomacy.
  • Be sure to find yourself a regalia with +1 Diplomacy/fame and, if you're of the Byzantine/Eastern Roman cultural pillar be sure to steal the aforementioned statue of the four tetrarchs for +1 Diplomacy/influence. Grand weddings have fairly common events to boost either diplomacy exp or outright give you a perk. A maxed politicker acclaimed knight gives +2 Diplomacy
  • Martial: Martial is not incredibly hard to boost, but it's not the easiest either. If you get a T5 education, this is a fantastic choice. Be sure to have your antiquarian running the court task of making adventurers in order to maximize the chances of getting Mmaagha Kamalu and Ascalon. Both of these artifacts grant +1 Martial/devotion (or fame). If you can get both, fantastic, if you can only get one, also fine. There's a somewhat uncommon travel event that grants +1 Martial. I would not rely on this, but it's nice to have.
  • If you can still raid late game, raider and berserker both grant +2 Martial. Participating in a great holy war for the warrior of the faith trait (or religious equivalent) grants +2 Martial. Warrior priests will by far be the greatest source of martial you could ask for. With 10 monasteries you can rock +40 martial without even trying. At best, it can make up the majority of your martial. A maxed tactician gives +2 Martial.
  • Stewardship: Stewardship is one of the easiest stats to boost provided you're running administrative or mandala government. A T5 education is a fairly middling option, it's better to have your spouse handle this. The aforementioned cabinet of curiosities grants +2 Stewardship & Learning/influence. On the subject of admin government, be sure to mentor in governance for +2 to all stats. A few boosts come from activity traits such as traveler, the falconry branch of the hunter trait and the domain focus. If you're lucky with RNG you can snag the republican heir trait, granting +4 Learning/Stewardship.
  • If you're a Mandala government, you can pick up the Aspect of Creation for a whopping +24 Stewardship at demigod devotion level. A maxed reeve acclaimed knight give +2 Stewardship. Be sure to snag the Turquoise throne from adventures or theft if you can, +1 Diplomacy & Stewardship/fame is nothing to sneeze at.
  • Intrigue: Intrigue is by far the most annoying stat to raise. A T5 education feels almost mandatory to pick up. Witch, herbalist and a maxed manipulator acclaimed knight all grant trickles of intrigue. Be sure to pick up dark insights and torture as much as possible, when maxed it grants +10 Intrigue/Prowess. Once you have the Pa/Matriarch branch of Diplomacy finished, be sure to reset your perks in order to double dip both of these bonuses.
  • Unfortunately, the best way to raise intrigue is possibly one of the most annoying. Grand weddings have a fairly common event where you can choose between a diplomacy perk and +1 Intrigue. Both options are good, but we want to focus on intrigue. Be sure to only invite courtiers in order to start the weddings within a month. If you have a boatload of marriage candidates and some good RNG you can really grind up intrigue. Legends can fire an uncommon event that grants +1 Intrigue. If you run Mandala, I highly recommend the Aspect of Trickery late game as it grants +24 Intrigue at demigod devotion level.
  • Learning: Learning is one of the easiest stats to hit 100 with. The game hands out bonuses like candy. I highly discourage a T5 education, you'll probably hit it without even noticing. Especially if you have monastic communities. Universities grant +1 Learning/fame, illustrious artifacts commonly roll a similar boost with devotion. Wise (wo)man, venator (hunter trait), witch and pilgrim are all good sources. A maxed Mentor acclaimed knight grants +2 Learning.
  • Prowess: Prowess, like learning is given a hilarious amount of bonuses. Grab yourself an illustrious set of armour and a weapon, train for tournaments, get yourself strong and herculean and you won't have problem raising prowess.
  • If you still need to fill in the gaps, be sure to visit the artisan quarters during the Melee, Duel and Joust events in a grand tournament. There is a fairly common event that boosts your armour for a small, scaling amount of gold and a fairly uncommon event that permanently boosts a random weapon. This boost is infinite as far as I know.

Chapter 8: Domain of the demigod

  • Domain limit has transitioned from being stewardship based to being trait based. As such, domain limit boosts are precious and uncommon. As such, you need to choose carefully which special buildings you end up sniping. The best ones grant multiple stats per fame or devotion level. Mandala governments in particular thrive from buildings that grant devotion based stats.
  • If you feel it isn't too cheaty, you can enable +3 domain limit upon game creation. This isn't necessary, but it will help.
  • Mandala governments have a hard cap of 11 and cannot be boosted beyond this. Keep that in mind when you're deciding government type.
  • If you feel your economy is good enough, you can exceed your domain limit by 4. Keep in mind, you will suffer an 80% reduction in gold and levies from your counties.
  • Starting at Kingdom level, you have a +3 domain limit. This maxes out at hegemon level with +5 domain limit.
  • Starting at tier 3 education, you gain +1 domain limit per education tier, capping out at +3. Absolute Control (Martial), Divided Attention (Stewardship), Fear Tax ( Intrigue), Theologian (Learning) and Ma/Patriarch (Diplomacy) all grant +1 domain limit. Be sure to grab these as fast as possible.
  • Gavelkind and Court Officials grant +1 domain limit, be sure to grab these innovations when you can. (Dharmic) Pacifism also grants domain limit, sadly you can't stack these tenets any more.
  • Finishing the Law legacy branch grants +1 domain limit, as does the aforementioned crown of Justinian if you have Byzantine/Eastern Roman heritage. Once you foster enlightenment for a free university, be sure to complete the Oath of Peace in later generations for +1 domain limit.
  • If you can snag an influential Eunuch, they can grant upwards of +2 domain limit. This can be tricky to get since it requires a cultural tradition and a bit of RNG.
  • Buildings themselves are largely irrelevant for stat boosts save for special buildings and monasteries once you have Monastic Communities and Warrior Priests.
  • A few I like to focus on are the University of Siena (+1 Intrigue & Learning/fame), Hagia Sophia (+2 Intrigue/fame) provided you're Muslim or consider it a holy site, Lamu (+1 Stewardship/fame and +1 Diplomacy/devotion) and the Plain of Jars (+1 Intrigue/devotion).
  • Ideally, you want to fill your realm with as many temples as possible. Monasteries are going to be by far your strongest buildings with Monastic Communities and Warrior Priests. As mentioned before, these buildings grant a whopping +4 learning, prowess and martial per. One may not seem too impressive, but if you fill all potential holdings with them through the power of the Preservation tenet, you can make up the lion's share of these stats with just these buildings.

Chapter 9: Living long and prospering

  • Since they took the old life expectancy boost from legendary shrines (I'll admit, this was for the better), we will need to look to cultural, religious, trait, legacy and artifact based boosts in order to keep our demigod in peak condition for as long as possible. Old age traits are frightening indeed, thankfully, they can be held at bay for a surprisingly long time.
  • Life expectancy is one of the most important stats early on as it will delay health decay from old age past the age of 25. At best, you can delay this decay until age 40.
  • Culturally, there really isn't much outside outside of Cultivation that grants anything significant health wise. Cultivation in and of itself is solid, +5 life expectancy and a reduced chance for old age traits with a solid chance at wise man. Pair this with Mind without mind and you can really stretch lifespans.
  • Religiously, there is also not much outside Mind without Mind. It's best paired with Cultivation to minimize the chance of both infirmity and severe old age traits.
  • Legacy wise, Octogenarians (Blood capstone) and Guardians of the Dharma (Divine Aspirations 4) both grant +5 life expectancy.
  • Trait wise, fecund is the only trait that offers +5 life expectancy.
  • Once you have all of these life expectancy boosts and hit 40, you will need to transition to health based boosts. Staying in good health is crucial for warding off old age traits, though, at the end of the day sometimes you just anger the RNG gods and get nailed with infirmity early on.
  • Be sure to look through the ledger for ancient scarab pendants, each one grants a small health and disease resistance boost and you can hold 4 of them. Said ledger can also be used to look for medium health boost journals, court books and small health boost pedestal items. The ledger is by far my favourite new addition, once upon a time you had to painstakingly search for these artifacts.
  • If you've kept up with your eugenics program your potential demigod should have herculean. Stubborn is another bit of health. Strong can be attained through a lucky roll with coastal warriors or training for tournaments. Athletic is pure rng, I wouldn't rely on getting it.
  • Lifestyle and activity traits are by far the most abundant for health boosts. Healthy and whole of body are a no-brainer, alongside maxing the archery hastiluder trait. Max hunter and wanderer contribute a small health boost. Don't forget to go on pilgrimages every 10-15 years. There's a relatively common event that has a high chance to grant a medium health boost for 15 years. This boost has saved my rear on so many occasions.
  • If you can hunt, be sure to bring your lovers. An event can fire that grants a huge health boost for 5 years. Who know banging in the woods was the secret ingredient to long life? Feasting has two events that grant a small and medium health boost respectively. Both are fairly uncommon but chances of the latter firing can be boosted by having friends/best friends at the feast.
  • The wrestling event at grand tournaments give a large health boost for winning and a smaller health boost for participating. Wrestling, however, brings the risk of a potentially unavoidable death or incapacitation. Do this at your own risk. Wrestling is also one of the first events to go once you have old age traits so you're unlikely to be able to rely on this health boost.
  • A court event can give you the option to get a dynastic small health boost for a very long time. Alternatively, you can use this event to give you a cat. The cat is better for health boosts and can be obtained through monument expeditions. It seems to me that Paradox are cat lovers, who knew?
  • Once you start getting old age traits, be sure to prepare an heir and a spare, you never know when the game will start unloading all the worst old age traits on to you.
  • Some old age traits aren't as bad as others. Faltering heart is fairly easy to manage if you have either low stress gain traits or an abundance of stress relief options. It can really sneak up in progress, and take you down at the worst moment. If you get this one, your time is quite limited. If you're paranoid, compassionate or diligent, RIP.
  • Fragile bones is probably the least impactful to a demigod. Just be sure to stack up on prowess boosters to maintain prowess even with the -50% debuff and avoid anything that may injure you.
  • Clouded eyes leading into blindness isn't terrible, though, this stops you from hunting. Be sure to squeeze as many hunts for health as you can before the blindness takes it away.
  • Infirmity is a classic scourge and still one of the worst traits to have. Thankfully, it can be kept at bay for a long time with the use of cultural traditions and religious tenets.
  • Withering mind is a nasty one, especially with faltering heart. You can slow it, but never stop it, like infirmity. Unlike infirmity, however, you are rendered incapable in the end, death is a mercy in comparison to incapacitation. Cross your fingers you don't encounter this one in your quest.

Chapter 10: Conclusion

  • If you've read this far, congratulations for making it and thank you for reading it. This guide was quite the undertaking to put together and should hold a bit more firmly into the future compared to the last guide.
  • Tl:dr? (Honestly, understandable) It boils down to expanding as fast as possible, racking up renown and socketing Monastic Communities and Warrior Monks while building monasteries everywhere. Be sure you choose an Administrative or Mandala government, pick up faiths with a bunch of stat boosts and grab as many health and life expectancy bonuses as possible.
  • I look forward to seeing what you may create with this guide. The earliest I've been able to get a ruler to all 100s is 53 (with good RNG it could have been 50, curse RNG sometimes).
  • My oldest ruler managed to make it to 140. He was but a poor centiquadrinarian that couldn't even achieve demigod status.

If you're curious, the old guide is here:

Be warned, a good chunk of strategies are nerfed or completely irrelevant. It may still apply to console editions as they are quite a few patches behind the PC version.

Another one gone so young. Rest well sweet prince.

Rule 5: My ancient ruler finally gave up the ghost at the ripe old age of 140 with only one negative aging trait. I'd like to thank cultivation and mind without mind for keeping him free from infirmity. By far my oldest ruler without the use of the old legendary shrines.

TIL they added a new descriptor to stats at 100. Neat.

Rule 5: Stats at 100 now have a descriptor befitting of their quality. It used to be excellent for all high stats (except at 69).

I don't know what kind of magic the tournament blacksmiths use to improve armour, but I want some of it.

Rule 5: Centuries of visiting the grand tournament blacksmiths have turned this once unassuming piece of armour into a marvel of medieval craftsmanship with an absurdly long name to boot. Bonus: The sword that feels quite hungry has become hungrier.

u/Sir_Loincloth222 — 1 month ago

I love how they display the total losses on the enforce demands screen. Makes it look hilarious every time I kick the pope back to Rome.

Rule 5: The pope decided to throw away over half a million soldiers in an utterly fruitless crusade. When will he learn? Probably never.

"Along the blade it reads I feel quite hungry"

Rule 5: I might have abused the tournament weaponsmith to the point where 90% of the blade is just Henry's famous quote (which also happens to be his house motto). I imagine it looks like a whiteboard after detention.

The Skyrim Badly Translated mod comes up with the most amusing things. I highly recommend it for a fresh playthrough.

Shoutout to EXITmods for this hilarity. I want to do all the questlines just to see how wacky the voicelines get.

I know the Thalmor are effectively worthless, but this is just hilarious.

A corpse reanimated by the latent magics of Dagoth Ur's mask is more valuable than Thalmor Hans Landa. Never change, Skyrim.

I've finally plowed through all 42 badges for Arena of the Gods. It was honestly more tedious than difficult once I figured out the strategy for clearing it.
