Confusion on Robot Series reading order as Google Play Books says The Robots of Dawn is book 1, but that one should actually be read last. And the book to read first in the series is The Caves of Steel (book 3).

This is to clarify my previous post on what to read after I, Robot. I wanted to read The Robots of Dawn only because Google Play Books says that's book one in the series. That seems to be a mistake on Google Play Books side. And it also says The Caves of Steel is book 3. But I will go with everybody's recommendation and buy Caves next.

I took a screenshot of that page in Google Play Books to post here, but it seems images aren't allowed.

Thank you for everybody's help in my previous post.

I just read my first book by Asimov, I Robot, and really enjoyed it. What's next?

I want to read The Robots of Dawn next because that's listed as Book 1 in the Robot Series, but ChatGPT says that I should read Book 3, The Caves of Steel next. What gives? Why book 3 first?

Or is ChatGPT completely wrong, as it sometimes is, and go with The Robots of Dawn? What is everybody's opinion on my next book?

What's up with the tricycle mafia around the SM Consolacion Mall in Cebu only offering "special" pricing that's 2-3x more expensive than normal?

This is a fairly recent issue. Going to the mall is normal; I pay anywhere from 50-100 pesos depending on the driver and how many passengers.

But going back home to Tayud Consolacion is a headache with pricing. All of the tricycle drivers around the mall charge a flat "special" pricing for 150 peso. I tell them I don't want special pricing, just normal pricing, but they won't budge. Eventually they'll just turn their head away until I agree to their inflated price. I talk to the next tricycle driver, same thing. I walk to the street away from the mall, same thing.

Has anybody else experienced this in the Cebu area?

Immigration offices added Biometrics for everybody! My experience...

Prepare for an extended stay at your next Visa extension! I went to the GMall yesterday to get mine extended and spent an additional hour there. I wasn't expecting any of this.

The security guard at the immigration office said that since last week there's been an additional step that needs to do - Biometrics. And he handed me a new form to fill out and take to the next business over to take 2x2 photos. I got that done - it's 150 pesos for that service - and went back to the immigration office.

Next I had to wait in a big line with other expats, or other people visiting the Philippines for a time, to take a face pic and fingerprinting. They didn't ask for any money for this, and I didn't ask.

Now things go back to normal with getting the actual Visa extension - 3970 pesos for a 2 month extension. Your passport will now have a thin strip of paper on the back page with information on it. Leave that there, I think immigration will need to see that paper every time.

Next time you get your extension, expect an extra hour at the immigration office.

Unable to register TextNow or Talkatone in the Philippines, even with a VPN. Any recommendations?

They both provide error messages. With TextNow, they force me to disable my VPN to continue with the registration process, then once it's disabled I get the error.

Are there any VoIPs that you can register from outside the US?

Hard stuck at 900-1000 ELO. Help!

Do I need to study now to get better? Openings, tactics and everything?

I don't really want to spend hours every day studying openings and game theory.

Does anybody have ant or gecko issues inside your condo?

I live on the 2nd floor in an apartment in Cebu, and used to have geckos coming in before making sure all of the windows were always closed and properly sealed. That problem was eventually taken care of.

But now for the last month, ants have been invading my apartment. Any food/snacks that are open have to be put inside the fridge. And any chocolate, even if not open, has to be put in the fridge otherwise ants cut through the bag and get to it. And for the first time, today I found thousands of ants coming in from the concrete by the front door. They died after spraying them.

For a long while now I have been thinking about moving into a condo in IT Park, and this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Do condos face the same issues as apartments when it comes to bugs such as geckos and ants?

Those that registered for a VoIP and consistently receive security codes, did you port your number? Or was it a new number?

Also, what VoIP service did you use? Are you able to set it up while already in the Philippines?

I've already been here two years and thinking I'll need a VoIP soon. At worst, as a backup number. At best, to receive the verification codes.

"Hoarding Gems" is a misnomer; the correct term is Saving (which is a good thing). Here's why...

Hoarding indicates an inability to get rid of useless, or almost useless, things. Think of hoarders, people who live in literal filth and garage, largely due to mental illnesses.

Saving is an intentional act of keeping things of value in order to obtain something of equal or greater value. Such as saving up to buy a car, putting aside 10-15% of your income into your 401(k) or IRA, saving for a rainy day, and so on.

Gems are one of the most important resources in the game! (In fact, all resources in the game are important). Those who save Gems are choosing to wisely hold onto them to purchase something valuable in the future. And that's a good thing, and something to be encouraged!

There's no reason for Fudds... <cough cough> .. or anybody... to frown upon people saving, either in real life, or in-game.

Stepping off my soap box now.

After Golden Bot, what is next - Flame, Amplify or Bot Bot?

I'll have Golden Bot goldboxed in a couple months and just wondering what's next, and if there's a general consensus on the order. If it makes any difference, I'm eHP/Hybrid.

Name one good thing about the Philippines that's not normally mentioned.

I'll start - Filipinos love music from the 80s. For me this is a good thing; in my opinion this is the era where good music ended. (Or the early 90s). =)

Me: Britons

Opp: Tupi

Opponent took me to Golden Pit (I favorite Arabia), so I do the best I can on this map and start building, scouting and luring. All of a sudden opp resigns right before 8 minutes.

Okay, this probably isn't a smurf, so what's going on? Surely he didn't resign because a boar killed a Vil. After replaying the game, that's exactly what happened! The 2nd boar killed a villager and instant resign. Why?

Opponent was still up by a villager and had a slightly better idle time. Please don't resign for a villager loss to a boar; it's hardly a game-changer, especially at this low ELO! The game is still basically 50-50.

That's my rant for the day...
