Help...topic for topic meeting needed...

...I am leading a topic meeting today and need a topic...maybe a short passage of AA approved literature to go with it...last week was 'How do I reach acceptance?'...got something good for me for today's meeting? Having a brain lock...

Edit: I went with '4th Dimension' but thank you to everyone, the meeting was a success, I have enough topics & ideas for months to come. This sub is a very under rated part of my recovery and I've learned a lot and got many perspectives here.

Anyone Find the Big Book chapter "To the Wives" Bizarre...?

I was at a Big Book meeting last night and we read "To the Wives." Bill W takes some poetic license here and pretends he's speaking as one of the wives. Lots of strange hypothetical advice like if your husband (the alcoholic) does X don't do Y. I find the steps to be powerful, flexible, spiritual tools but am always somewhat baffled by the Big Book's writing.

Amlodipine and odd sensations in feet.

I've been on 10mg amlodipine (and labetalol) for awhile, generally happy with it. Only once did one foot swell a small amount. But i do get numbness/neuropathy type sensations in my feet. Anyone else...?

Is joy from people saying thank you/gratitude a form of external validation...?

Had a 6 person all female anniversary celebration at my home group. I was one of 2 set-up guys. So with very limited resources, the other set-up guy not really helping/working against me, and lots of people telling me what i can and can't do, I pulled off a classy, well decorated set-up and got a lot thank yous & comments from the celebrants during and after the meeting. I stayed humble and shared the gratitude with the other set-up guy. But by caring about the decorations did i find a way to make it about me? Still a narcissist or using my narcissistic powers for good? Thoughts...?

Tolerating Disrespect for the Greater Good

So I do the set-up for my AA group. The person I do it with is controlling, disrespectful,& toxic and what was once a spiritual activity of service has become the opposite. To walk away from service that one is committed to is seen as a cardinal sin in AA. At what point do I say no more? Is that my ego talking?

Ever Quit A Commitment?

I have set-up at my homegroup with another member. He has the keyfob. He shows up late which leaves me waiting sometimes and creates pressure. One time he didn't show at all. He refuses to hand over the keyfob to me so I know I'll have access. He treats it like its the Holy Grail. To make it worse he doesn't return texts or calls or initiate them so i have no idea whats going on. I told the chairperson and he kind of shrugged it off. Instead of going into set-up with joy I now have the stress of not knowing when to show-up or if I'll even get access. I'm pretty close to resigning my commitment. Thoughts?

Technique I've been using, find someone with a similiar issue and model them.

So my issue is my turkey neck. I was once 320lbs at 5'10 (m). Have lost weight and have loose skin around my neck. I have been doing face and neck exercises which its debatable whether it helped or made it more pronounced. But I have been seeking out celebrities/movie characters who have similiar issue and it doesn't affect them. I've been watching Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), intrrviews with King Kong Bundy, Colin Farrel's Penguin...and its been helping. Integrating my turkey neck into my persona.

Therapist Keeps Trying to Change our Terms cause he travels

I have an agreement to meet with a therapist 3x a month then take the 4th week off. He's traveling for June and his schedule will be too unpredictable for e-therapy. But he wants to meet for a 4th time this month 'to take advantage' of the time that he's here. For me 4 consecutive sessions are too much, I need time to get things done, and a 4th consecutive payment ( I'm paying $175 out of pocket is a lot.) I've had this issue with him before and stood up for the terms of our agreement but it seems odd that he's trying to do it again. He's a steady therapist but not great. Considering dropping him altogether. Thoughts...?
