Need help explaining Drukhari to my wife

My wife has recently decided to join me in collecting/playing 40K and has chosen Drukhari based purely on the way they look and my brief description of "they're elves that like to torture people"

I don't know enough about either their lore or play style to tell her any more than that so I'm hoping you fine people can.

Cool bits of lore/how they play/tips to beat my Blood Angels would all be greatly appreciated

Vala saves seasons 9&10

Replacing a beloved main character is always a risk for any tv show and if its not done properly, the show suffers badly. Replacing RDA as Jack O'Neill with Ben Browder as Mitchell was a mistake imo.

Mitchell doesn't have the charisma, sarcasm, dry wit or loveable laid-back attitude that O'Neill has. Mitchell is too serious and straight-laced for the most part. I get that they couldn't just replace RDA with someone exactly the same as that wouldn't have worked for different reasons, but for me, Mitchell is wrong.

Not only that, but Hammond is replaced with Landry. Nothing against Landry, but he isn't Hammond of Texas. It seems like he was written to be a close approximation of Hammond and does a good job, but if Hammond is a Rolls Royce, Landry is a Mercedes. Still good, just not as good.

However, Vala brings the light-heartedness the show needs. She has similar qualities to O'Neill that made him such a good character. Her chemistry with Daniel Jackson is brilliant, she "annoys" the other characters just enough to be endearing and I genuinely feel that without Vala, seasons 9&10 would've flopped hard. Her child-like impishness and mischievousness is something the show didn't have before and, again for me, made the final 2 seasons much better than they otherwise would have been

What do normal, non-system Lord Goa'ulds do?

There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Jaffa. Each Jaffa carries a symbiote to one day be implanted so it stands to reason there are thousands upon thousands of Goa'uld running around. Some become system Lords, some find a planet somewhere and set up shop (like Qetesh) but surely they can't all do that?

So what does Dave the Goa'uld do? Or Jenny the Goa'uld? Does Bob the Goa'uld run a fast food joint on P3X-427, ruling over the chicken nuggets with an iron fist?

Someone tried to scam me, I played along

Apparently I’m going to get my 5 million back. That’ll be nice

Death Company Ballistus Dread

I have 2 Ballistus Dreads. I'm going to paint 1 in normal colours but I want to do 1 as a DC dread. With it being a ranged dread, would it make sense in lore at all?

I am going to do it - rule of cool - but if there is some justification for it, that would be good

Who will be the first Premier League manager out of a job this season?

Not counting the 3 promoted teams, but which manager gets his marching orders first, and why?

Which member of SG-1 gets captured the most?

I've not actually checked but in roughly 427 episodes, 1 or more of the team get captured. Has anyone bothered to check who gets captured most often? If not, anyone want to hazard a guess?

I reckon its Teal'c, but again, I haven't checked

Ark of Truth and Continuum now free on Prime (UK)

Apologies if this has already been posted, I did have a quick look but couldn't find anything. The 2 SG-1 movies are now free to watch on Prime. Last time I checked was a couple of weeks ago, fairly certain they were not free then.

Mods, if I'm wrong and they've always been free/this has been posted before, feel free to delete

Anyone else's doggo just love broccoli?

My Boromir's favourite treat is a head of broccoli. Raw. It's so weird, he goes nuts for it. It's a once-a-week (or rarer) treat for him and he'll demolish a large head in about 5 minutes. Then hoover up the crumbs.

He's a proper derp is my shepherd

New to the sub, so thought I’d introduce my doggo

Boromir at 11 weeks and as he is now at 4.
Love him to bits. Wish he had just a small amount of spatial awareness tho 😂

Cannot put a harness on my German Shepherd, please help

I have a 4-year old GSD male called Boromir. I got him when he was 11 weeks old from a family that had tried and failed to turn him into a fighting dog. I don't know what they did to him in that short span of time but the trauma runs deep.

He is such a lovely, happy dog. Only wants fuss, to play (usually with a ball), food and more fuss. Very loving, not an aggressive bone in his body. He is my dog and I love him to bits but we do have issues stemming from the abuse he suffered.

I will say, for various reasons I have not been able to do much in the way of training him over the years and I feel constant guilt about it. I hold my hands up and take full responsibility for that failure. I am trying to rectify that but as I said, there are issues.

For instance, he has to be sedated before we take him to the vets for any reason because, as soon as they touch him to examine him, he gets very scared and starts biting. A muzzle isn't enough because he bites when trying to put it on him. Not even I can do it and he loves me more than anyone else.

He is very wary of men (I'm basically the only man he tolerates and it took a long time before he accepted my best friend)

He hasn't been socialised because taking him for walks is difficult. Main reason for this is I cannot get his harness on. More specifically, I cannot clip it. He'll happily let me put it over his head but as soon as I touch the clips, its the scared reaction and biting. I'm not really sure 'biting' is the right word, its more like he grabs my hand in his teeth to keep me away from the clip.

I've tried doing it with treats; I'm very calm when I do it (even when he hurts me), I give him plenty of fuss, lots of positivity and I still can't do it.

When finances are better, I will employ a behaviourist but right now I can't afford one so if anyone has any ideas/suggestions please tell me. I want my boy to be happy and go on nice long walks, he's so smart I know he'll learn how to be great out and about. Please help if you can.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but we're in England

Managers who went from a small(er) club to a big club and succeeded

With Iraola tipped to take over at Liverpool, it got me wondering if any managers (within the last 20 years) went from a mid/small club to a big club and actually succeeded?

Off the top off my head, Moyes, Potter and Frank all did very well with their respective teams, earned a move to a 'Big 6' club and failed. There are probably others too. So, did any manager make the step up and succeed?

From a jungle world controlled by the Blood Angels.

1 sergeant and Commissar done

Sentinel not finished yet and I’m (obviously) not great at painting.

Thoughts and comments welcome
