Hi everyone,

A few days ago I had the chance to test ride a 2025 Moto Guzzi V85 Strada, and I was honestly very pleasantly surprised by the bike.

So much so, in fact, that I'm seriously considering buying one.

I'm coming from a 150+ hp naked bike, so it would obviously be a very different experience.

Unfortunately, where I live there is a lot of traffic, speed bumps, speed cameras and police checks, which means I rarely get to use even half of what my current bike is capable of.

The downside is that I only have room and budget for one motorcycle, so it would have to replace my current bike.

Some of the advantages I see with the V85 are:

• Much better comfort
• A beautiful engine sound
• Lots of character
• Large fuel tank + more economical
• Shaft drive
• Cruise control and many other features

I've noticed that the sporty riding position of my current bike is starting to become uncomfortable after an hour or an hour and a half.

There are only three things that still make me hesitate:

• Will I miss the power?
• I absolutely love the looks of my current bike.
• And, sorry, I really don't mean this in a negative way haha! but I do sometimes get the impression that the V85 is mostly ridden by older gentlemen. I know that shouldn't matter, but it's something that crosses my mind.

All in all, these are some of the things I've been thinking about.

Any tips, advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Are there any particular things I should keep in mind during the break-in period? And what do you consider the must-have accessories for the V85 Strada?

Luxury problem....

I currently ride a 2025 Suzuki GSX-S1000. It’s an absolutely fantastic bike with plenty of power, and I’m really happy with it.

However, I’ve recently found myself looking at the Moto Guzzi V7 and V85TT. I know they are completely different types of motorcycles, but I’m very drawn to the sound and character of the engine.

I also like the idea of more relaxed touring at a slightly slower pace, especially with that beautiful V-twin sound.

That said, I’m unsure whether I would regret making the switch. I’ve already taken a test ride on a Moto Guzzi and really enjoyed it.

Buying both isn’t an option due to budget and space, so it would have to be one or the other.

Are there people who have made the switch from a fast inline-four sports/naked bike to a slower, more characterful motorcycle like a Moto Guzzi? And if so, what was your experience like?

Any advice is welcome.
