Coming from having only ever owned economy cars and junk pickups, this is a hell of an upgrade.
Update to the hundred dollar sunday conure
You may remember me posting about a young Sunday conure I got from a pet store for 100 dollars because it was super aggressive.
Have had the bird for about a month now and we are making slow progress. He's exploring his cage a lot more, and starting to venture outside of the cage for short moments. I don't think he's had much in the way of attention, toys, or treats. He doesn't seem to know what any of them are, although he did recently start playing with one of his toys. He didn't even seem to know what spray millet was? He would only touch pellets, nothing else, but I've gotten him to take to the spray millet and a couple fresh fruits I've tried with him.
He is still super super aggressive, but he is warming up to me. He loves bananas, I kind of tricked him into biting one to get him to try it and he was visibly confused at the flavor. Now if I start eating a banana near him he will go crazy and start chirping until I give him a little piece. Which he takes directly from my fingers when I hold it up to him, albeit very aggressively. But he is definitely making the effort to not bite me when he's grabbing the banana. He seems interested in the food I eat now, he will try what I'm eating. If he doesn't like it he goes down to his food bowl and eats his food with me. Also recently has taken to yelling at me while hanging upside down by one foot. Not sure what that behavior is, but it's cute.

So I just got a Sunday conure for 100 dollars.
Growing up, my mom had 3 conures. One of which was a very angry old man that we took in after it's owner died. So I at least understand an "angry, evil" conure that you can't really handle but just admire from afar.
I was at the pet store last week, and saw a beautiful Sunday conure, and then saw a sign "99.99, needs a lot of work to socialize." I asked about it, and the store had said that he was supposed to have been hand fed, but since he arrived a month ago has been absolutely nothing but hell. The store says he's basically unsellable, and they're willing to take a huge loss on the bird, and then just not deal with that breeder again. I took this all in and got to my car, and I swear to god I started tearing up, telling my girlfriend like. We need to get this bird.
I ended up going back an hour later, and I told them "I can pay for the bird right now, but I need a few days to get a spot in the house set up, if you hold them I will take him. I'm worried a bird like this will go to the wrong family or someone that doesn't understand these birds" and they were able to hold him. So I've been ordering stuff the last week and working on getting his cage set up perfect. And yesterday brought home Sammy, the 99 dollar parrot 😍
He is super aggressive, but he is a young bird. The pet store only had him 1 month, and I am going to be able to devote a lot of time to working with this bird, so I am optimistic.
Seems decent enough quality, just wondering if anyone's bought one and how they like it. I've had Oklahoma Joe's brand grills in the past, but they just don't seem to hold up like they did in the past so I'm kinda put off the price
