Treatment for Skin Disease Pityriasis lichenoides chronica (PLC) with over-the-counter supplement bromelain. Submitting to reddit for visibility.

Hi there,

I didn't know where to share this, but I wanted to help those who may be suffering from this skin condition that plagued me for almost a year.

Pityriasis lichenoides chronica (PLC) is an unsightly skin disease with no known cure. I struggled with it for a long time, and went through steroids, creams, phototherapy. Nothing worked

I ultimately gave up on my dermatologist, and started digging myself into treatment options. I came across a scientific journal that suggested the use of the supplement bromelain to help treat symptoms. The treatment was 100% successful in the study's - though admittedly, small - sample group. After using the cheap over-the-counter drug, my condition cleared up in a few weeks.

I just wanted to share this with people who may have this uncommon but not rare skin problem. And perhaps get this treatment option some visibility (reddit tends to show up on google easily)

The journal paper that inspired me: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17671882

Bromelain is readily available in stores like GNC and Vitamin Shoppe, and you can get easily over amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=bromelain&sprefix=brome%2Caps

Sorry I know we're not allowed to give medical advice, but I couldn't help sharing a very simple cure to a very difficult problem that even dermatologists may not know about.
