Almost got scammed while looking for a flat on OLX in Kadugodi, Whitefield.

Sharing my experience i faced

I wanted to share this experience so that someone else doesn't lose their hard-earned money.

Yesterday, I found a 1 BHK fully furnished flat on OLX in Kadugodi, Whitefield. The rent was ₹9,000 and the deposit was ₹20,000. Honestly, it looked like an unbelievable deal.

I contacted the owner through OLX and then on WhatsApp. He shared a video of the flat, and everything looked genuine.

When I said I was interested, he told me that another person had already visited the flat in the morning and would confirm by 3 PM. He repeatedly said that whoever paid the advance first would get the flat.

I told him I wanted to visit the property before making any payment. He said he was at work and couldn't come, but kept reminding me that if the other person paid first, the flat would be gone.

Something didn't feel right, but since the property was only about 10 km away, I decided to visit the building anyway.

When I reached, I asked him for the floor and flat number. The flat was locked, so I spoke to the caretaker.

The caretaker immediately recognized the flat number and said:

>

He then told me that multiple people had already been scammed by the same person. According to him, people had transferred ₹5,000, ₹10,000, ₹20,000 and even ₹25,000 as advance before visiting the property, only to realize there was no genuine rental deal.

I was honestly relieved that I decided to visit first instead of sending money online.

I messaged the scammer saying I'd file a cyber crime complaint. He simply replied, "Okay, do it."

A few takeaways:

  • Never pay a token amount or advance without physically verifying the property.
  • If the owner keeps creating urgency ("someone else is about to pay"), treat it as a red flag.
  • Always speak to the security guard or caretaker before transferring any money.
  • If a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Thankfully, I only lost some time and travel expense. It could have been much worse.

Stay safe.

How much did you THR cost ?

I found out about the whole expensive medical treatment in the US , Canada, UK - basically western countries.

So - i am just curious to know how much did your THR cost ? And I believe it must have been covered under insurance?

I will go first

Final Bill - 8400$
2 surgeries - Left THR , Right Core Decompression
Total 5 days spent at the hospital
Also the room was pretty crazy

EDIT 1 (after 65 comments) : After reading all the comments on the post - i feel like my whole idea of Healthcare in western countries was a lie. I mean, most of the people here had near Zero cost of surgery. Then why do people on Youtube say the healthcare in these countries are the most expensive in the world.

2nd THR next week. Scared af again !

To give everyone context - I am 30 years old. I was diagnosed with AVN. Right Hip (stage 2) & Left Hip (stage 4).

In Nov 2025, I had my left hip THR and right hip core decompression. I was scared af before the surgery, about the whole procedure, the pain, recovery and life post surgery. But surprisingly, everything went butter smooth. I mean, the best hospital experience of my life.

But now, 7 month post surgery, my core decompression hip did not recover (Dr had already advices me before the surgery that this could work or could not work. Can’t say for sure, but he wanted to save the original hip and that’s why went ahead with this).

Now, next week, I have my right hip THR. Before this 2nd surgery, I was thinking, I have done this before and there is nothing to worry about, it will a cake walk this time, I know how things work. But now, I am scared again.

I guess it just never gets any easier.

Wish me luck guys!

Yellostone Hangover !!!

Just finished watching the series’s!

And i am filled with emotions. Man!!!

Am i the only one who feels the show did not ended the way it should have !!!!!! I mean - they gave up the Ranch as soon as he died. And there was not even a pinch of regret on their faces !!!!!

I am just not able to wrap my head around the fact that they gave up the Ranch !!!!!! And that too to the Reservation - Why !!!! And they took over the freakin house and were taking it down like “I don’t want any sign of Dutton ranch” - But still were like - i will save it for you ! Wtf does that even mean.

In the end - when Kayce and Beth were in the empty house talking about his memories- i was crying like hell !!

I seriously feel Jamie could have saved everything only if he hadn’t gone rogue. He was the most capable character after John Dutton to have saved the ranch !

Let;s change Bihar !

Friends, I need some honest advice and suggestions.

I have been a firm supporter of BJP for years. But what has happened in Bihar has deeply disappointed me. As Biharis, I feel we deserve much better.

When Jan Suraj entered Bihar politics, I genuinely felt that it could bring meaningful change. But after following it closely for some time, I no longer feel the same confidence.

A little about my background — I was born in Punjab and raised across Delhi, Maharashtra, and Karnataka because my father served in the Indian Air Force.

But despite living across India, I have always been a proud Bihari. Bihar is an emotion for me.

The problem is: whenever I think seriously about Bihar’s political future, I struggle to feel hopeful.

Lately, I have even started thinking about building a new political movement or political party in Bihar. But realistically, I have neither business backing nor political backing.

I also do not want to build politics around caste divisions. However, the reality of Bihar is such that many core issues eventually get pulled into caste equations, and I am not fully confident about how to address those issues without that happening.

So I genuinely want to ask:

  • Is issue-based politics realistically possible in Bihar today?
  • How does someone build a clean political movement without money or political support?
  • How can Bihar move beyond caste-driven politics?
  • What would you suggest to someone who genuinely wants long-term change for Bihar?

I would appreciate honest thoughts and constructive suggestions.
