Gap year or straight to school

Hi, I’ve been in the boat of rethinking SDSU and have made a few posts about it but ultimately I came down to two decisions and I need opinions on what you would do in my situation.

I had committed to SDSU, I found my roommates already, I paid deposits, and scheduled orientation I. July 20th. I was set on going, however for some reason I started thinking about how maybe I’m not ready and that led into me talking with my parents who basically told me they would be struggling financially with paying for me to go. They told me they would still do it and they would make it work, I know that they would, but I also don’t want them to pay that much money out of state for a school that wasn’t my first choice. On top of this, I’m not too sure on what I want to do with my career, I know I would switch my major to business administration, however there isn’t much of a plan on internships or shadowing because I’m unsure. So my parents paying for that feels wrong in itself, and on top of that I personally don’t have much saved up for college either.

UCSB has always been my top school but I got rejected from it and also probably wouldn’t be able to pay financially for that either had I been accepted. I was thinking of doing a semester gap year for 7 months and figuring out what I want to do career wise and maybe shadowing and internships to help me. My parents would be able to save up around $43,000 for the first semester of schooling for SBCC (Santa Barbara city college) and I would be on track to transfer to UCSB. I would get an apartment down there with a roommate to help with rent and I would have a lot more leeway to figure out majors in city college. During my gap year, I would just save and work a lot and look into internships and careers to spend my time, however I would have to deal with telling my roommates very late in that I’m withdrawing, I would get fomo, possibly get depressed and there is a chance I would lose motivation for school and waste my time.. so I feel very lost on what to do. I am not going to go to community college in my state for personal reasons so that is not an option right now. However I could take online classes to see what career I could do. If you were in my situation, would you go to SDSU anyways and see if you liked it, or would you take the gap year/semester?

Gap year after highschool

Do gap years actually help? I was committed to a university but heavy financial issues came up with my family and I don’t want to put them in debt for undergrad schooling. I also don’t want to go to community college here in my state. I have a job and I can save up for college my own and my parents would also be able to save up a lot more for my school, however I don’t think I can defer my acceptance. I also don’t know what I want to do in the future so I’ve considered a gap year to figure out what I enjoy for my major and save up money, however I also see people say their gap year turned into 2+ and they found it to be a waste of time and lose motivation for school and that is what I am most scared of happening. What are your opinions?

SDSU or SBCC

Hi, I am regretting my decision and I don’t know what to do. I committed to SDSU and paid all the deposits, have my roommates, and orientation on July 20th however I am seriously regretting it and am thinking I should’ve chosen to go to SBCC to transfer to UCSB. I have little to no money saved for college right now and my parents also have no money saved for SDSU and would be in debt. I know sdsu is very expensive to attend out of state so I am very scared about that and SBCC would be a lot cheaper, however I have no clue about the living situation and who I would room with or any of the above. I also am going into SDSU with a major that I don’t like and want to switch but have no clue what to. I am unsure of what I want to do as a career and it seems like community college is a better option for that however I am very far deep into SDSU and am wondering if it’s best to give it a go and transfer if I dislike it. What would you do in my situation? I feel very stressed and overwhelmed and don’t know if I should wait until orientation July 20th to make my final decision or if I’m too deep into this. Any advice? (I know this is very last minute and I’ve dug myself very deep) or is withdrawing all together and taking a gap year to get my money up and decide what to do a smarter idea

SDSU or CU Boulder

Hi. I am worried that I made the wrong choice of choosing SDSU as an incoming freshman. I have orientation in July and I’ve already found my roommates and everything but I grew up in Colorado and the more I look into CU Boulder the more I think I should’ve committed there. I would also get in state tuition for CU. I’m going in with a major in poli sci but I want to switch it to business. Can anybody tell me their opinions on these schools and what they would do in my position?

Side effects on accutane

Hi, I just finished my course of accutane of 50mg for about 7 months. I am very sick of the side effects it has caused me such as discoloration in my face and body, the dryness, and especially the dark under eyes it has caused me. I am wondering how long it typically takes or how long it took for those on accutane for those side effects to go away.

Transferring from SDSU to UCSB

Hi! I’m attending SDSU in the fall but UCSB was always my dream school and I didn’t get in. I am wondering if i don’t end up liking SDSU, is it a hard or unlikely process to transfer from there to UCSB? And has anyone had a similar experience.

Rhinoplasty recommendations in Denver

Hi!! I’m just looking for recommendations for a small nose reduction located in Colorado. If anyone has had good or bad experiences with any surgeons, I would love to know!

Good maxillofacial surgeons in the Denver area

Does anyone have recommendations for a good facial plastic surgeon or oral/maxillofacial surgeon in the Denver area for a conservative chin reduction/genioplasty consultation?

I’m mainly looking for someone who specializes in facial harmony/natural results and won’t overdo things. I’d especially appreciate recommendations from people who had subtle lower-face or profile refinement done. My chin is not overly projected, I just want a subtle refinement to make it smaller.

Would also love to know who to avoid. Thanks!
