Anyone have a complete school bus?

I work at atlas9 and wanted to use a school bus for a school related short video we’re making.

“CALL THE SCHOOLS AND ASK” Yes I know, I know fair enough.

but I wanted to see if anyone here might have one. I’m also looking for a somewhat less modern looking bus, and I don’t think any schools around here have older ones anymore.

Unless one of you directly works at a school, I’m not interested in contacting a school until all my avenues are spent.

Just a classic American school bus. It’d be for like half a day of shooting and we’d be inside the bus the whole time, it won’t even move. The bus ain’t even gotta work!

Thank you!

Wrote myself into a corner because I’m dumb

My WHOLE script is about a guy who’s locked in the back of a 1980s hearse, and now I’m learning you can unlock the back doors from inside. I thought there might be child locks for those doors, but duh a hearse doesn’t have child locks.

Is there any way to fix or explain this?

I am going to go get a drink.

Title for my friend's horror book

The book has a Sam Raimi-ish feel, a little bit of Stephen King. The book has a 70s aesthetic, but is set in modern day. He asked me to not give away too many plot details but it may or may not involve a vehicle. Im just not sure about any of these, some are fonts off creative market, some are much more modified by me. I'm not even married to this red/light gray color scheme.

What do I do? I do NOT want it to look like Stragner things, It is not an 80s movie!
Maybe the blackletter font is too much. I was trying to do something like an old match book or oil can. Something bold. Something we can adapt into different marketing materials.

These two words are EXTREMELY unbalanced, and without scaling one word up or down they are tricky to weight properly against each other. I Dunno boss, i jus doooooont know, i suck, that's all there is too it. I am happy to hire a letterer to make something custom, It just has to be someone I trust who will take feedback and who's been in the type/logo industry professionally for a while.

I hate brush scripts on horror movies. Brush scripts age so poorly. Im not against a little grunge, though.

LPL DIY Media Lab booked until... double checks notes... SEPTEMBER?

WTF? it is bookable 5 days a week and is still THAT busy? How is that possible? That many people knw it exists and have old stuff to digitize? Something is up... Someone is booking it solely for themselves for some reason, I have no other explanation, seriously.

Told it’s not worth it to write about a character with dementia in my horror movie

In this horror movie a guy is trying to bring a family member back from the dead, and since his mom has dementia, she won’t know they were ever dead to begin with.

But I’ve been told by a few people that dementia is just too intense and difficult a situation to dramatize just for a plot point.

My grandparents all had awful Alzheimer’s and dementia, so it’s not like I’m not familiar with it first hand. But I can see a world were critics savage my movie for using the disease as a “plot point.”

But also the protagonist is the person trying to bring the dead family member back to life and the wild adventure they go on to do it. The mom isn’t really a main character, and because of that I’m scared I’ll get punched in the gut for not “developing” her.

I dont think there is any way to write her that people would feel she is developed, it’ll be just too easy to knock.

It’s too bad because I think it makes the story more thorny and interesting.

I had a friend make a horror film that featured a kid with autism as part of the story and they got savaged for it, even though they did research and wrote it in good faith, using first hand sources.

So I don’t know what to do. As of now the mom is just kind of old and loopy and not explicitly degenerative. It’s more just about the their guilt driving them to resurrect their family member.

What do you think? The movie can still work without it, but you know, people are vicious. I don’t want that adjective dude on letterboxd to rattle off his little adjectives on me.
