In terms of being true to later seasons of regular show, I really don’t care that the new episodes use references from season one as the base, what really stood out to me was that the writing and actual stories feel just as good as seasons 1-4 and that’s what really makes the new episodes succeed to me. I feel any of these episodes could be mixed into those seasons and you wouldn’t even notice from a narrative and comedy perspective. The animation works for me and the writing seals the deal.
