Shouldn't this sub be blue sometimes?

I'm not sure when this happened on reddit, but I noticed a few subs have a background color now.

I take the sub is green to match the subtitle color from KoTOR2, right?

But shouldn't it also be KoTOR's blue sometimes? Or half the time considering this sub is about both games?

Or is this user defined and I can change?

Anyway, just a semi-random thought, while we wait for the remake... ...

We're getting close to Resonant so let me ask: what's your personal theory for Jesse's and Dylan's connection?

We know for sure that there is some connection between them that goes beyond simply being siblings. A common enough take is that they were one person divided in two, possibly during the Ordinary AWE. Personally I'm not a fan of this take, at least, not at its most basic form. I think Remedy wouldn't go with such a ordinary (hehe) explanation, there is more to it, but what?

First, there is remarkably little info to go with, especially if we ignore Resonant's spoilers. From the top of my head we have i. that dream Dylan had in which she was a girl called Jesse Dylan Faden, and he also mentions how both Jesse and Dylan are girl/boy names. ii. we have the Board (or was it the Former?) calling Jesse Jesse Dylan Faden which imply they are somewhat interchangably and/or still conneteced in their view and iii. we have that episode of Nightsprings from Alan Wake 2 in which a Jesse was searching for a Dylan.

Second, there is a question that must be answered before explaining their relationship, which is: does Jesse and Dylan exists in all multiverses, or they are unique to the one from the game? Here is where Nightspring episodes are particularly relevant. My feeling is that the "red haired lady" existence in the multiverse is certain. That matches well with Quantum Break (regardless of its canon status), Beth and the whole plot with the Tim Breaker, yet what about Dylan? We do have the coffee episode which shows another Jesse looking for another Dylan, which would mean they are not an "Control-universe exlusive" yet the entire nature of the Nightsrping episodes make us unnable to fully reach a conclusion. They are both canon and non canon at the same time.

Third, there is still another question that I think is very important: if they were at some point or in some fashion the same person, when did they get split? It feels like they were always two persons in Control's universe, but who knows?

In the end, I'm not sure what to think. There is definitely something there - which if we consider only Control wasn't something I was sure would be explored further - but there way more possibilities than answers. I do expected something that has to do with this particular universe, not connected to the Ordinary AWE in the sense that it was already a thing before it and something that goes beyond one person split into two. That is, in this universe, there were always two people.

So, what's your take?

Githyanki: might empire or planar hobos?

As someone who doesn't know anything about D&D lore, this is something that always confused me in the game. I can't quite picture what the Githyanki are like.

When we heard about the Githyanki, be it through Lae'zel or other characters, they are always painted as thir very powerful and martial race, with influence and the ability to project their power across the many planes.

Yet when we go the to their Creche it's quite a clandestine operation. More like desperate refugees than a powerful people. They live in ruins and dirty. And maybe you could argue about hardship and what not, yet another key aspect of the place is that it's tiny. Producing very few offsprings. Lae'zel tells us that the big creches have like a 100 eggs or something close to that, but even that is ridiculous small if you want to keep a large population, which would be necessary for such powerful empire.

Why don't they conquer a world and build cities (outside the Astral Plane) and so can have massive populations? And if they do, what's the purpose of creches? Why hide when you're allegedly more powerful than anyone else?

Hello fellow armchair generals (and especially armchair legates),

I've discovered just yesterday with great delight that there will be a new update for Rome 2 announced soon. Rome 2 might very well be the best selling, if not most profitable, Total War game to date, with an enduring popularity, so it makes sense for them to revisit it. But I must confess I thought that trireme had sailed. So again, I'm really happy to be wrong.

All that said, it got me wondering what the update could be about. From what I can tell it's probably nothing major, which got me thinking of small-ish things that could be updated in Rome 2 to make the game better. I've played the vanilla game *a lot*, and this is the smallest, more to-the-point list I could thik of:

- AI Army recruitment. This might be my no. 1 wish, no, this *is* my no. 1 wish. One thing that always hold back my fun in campaigns is that enemy factions often don't recruit good armies, I've made this post a long time ago to talk about it. It was about the Empire Divided campaign but it's also true for any other scenario. This is particularly bad with eastern factions that virtually never get good cavalry, so you end up fighting bad armies from first to last turn. Which is a big shame as they have some of the coolest units in the game. The funny thing is, they do recruit them, it just take a long time. An improvement of building/tech research priority alone would improve things. Or tailor-made scripts. You could even gif the AI free armies to improve late-game. It would be worth it. Every factions could benefit from this (note: there are many mods that tweak enemy recruitment, I've tested all of them and they are more like lateral steps than clear improvements).

- Siege AI (especially defensive). AI as a whole is one of Rome 2's weaknesses. I don't mind it much as the sheer... let's call it aura of the game is enough to carry it for me. But there is a few moments when it can get distracting, sieges is one of them. Enemy defend cities walled cities very badly, to the point it feels a bug rather than simply bad AI. Indeed, it wasn't always like that, the current state of affairs is the result of one of the last updates. Improving this would feel more like a fix than an upgrade.

- Improved diplomacy: Another weak aspect of Rome 2 is the diplomacy between factions. Some improvements there would be most welcome. Be it factions behaving smartly or more options like trading settlements. A lot of this stuff is already on other Total War games, so they have a good idea how to make it work.

- Defensive camp improvement: another small thing that I believe could add a lot of flavor to the game is an improved marching camp system. You know, the "fortified stance". As it is, all we get is the same square time and time again, maybe with a few more defensive traps. I'd love to see something more representative of each faction and tech level.

- Semi-wish: Guaranteed Major Fatcions. Now this is a semi-wish, 1/4 wish even, because we alreayd got it. It's a bit... un-hype to expand in the campaign map in antecipation of fighting Rome jus to realize they are gone, or very weak. Giving bonus to those big factions, even if as an optional setting, can make for a more fufilling campaign. No wonder a mod already done that, and done it very well. But I'd like to see CA's take on it, especially if it improves the campaign AI of those factions.

Bonus: Tweak Rome auxiliary recruitment: This is a more personal wish and less about the overall quality of the game. But I think it would be pretty cool to have a more "robust" recruitment options for the Rome factions. What I mean is, allow me to recruit "roman" pikeman and cataphracts! Heavy elephants and other more particular units! A sort of fantasy Rome if you will. It would match the approach CA has had in many of their games and it would be a fun twist on the previous stablished game. It could an optional thing rather than a change.

Bonus bous: Extra campaign. As I said, I don't think many are expecting a new campaign, but just for the sake of it here is my pick: Trajan's Eastern Wars. We have campaign covering a lot of Roman history, but the peak of the Empire is missing. One of the factors is that it's not exactly grounds for a great campaign as a unified Rome would cover all the map. So focus it on a place! And I think the East is the best part to do it. The Roman factions could be just a small part of the Empire, so your focus would be on conquest and management of new territories rather than controlling your own, and other factions would have to deal with a juggernaut in its prime. It would also allow for great and novel gameplay mechanics. Septimus Severus eastern campaigns could also be the focus. But the idea is a campaign focused on the near east.

And that's it for my short-ish wishlist. I tried to focus on things that are "easy" to improve and would result in a great return of investment. The best cost effective changes if you will. Maybe that's already too much, and what we will get is some minor bug fixes and technical improvements. That is ok as well. In the end I'm just glad CA is still looking at this game and that they realized Rome (II) is Eternal!
