Finally pulled the trigger on an Area 51

Hello all. I finally decided to get an Area 51 Desktop. Just too good of a deal to pass up. I got one with a RTX 5090, Ryzen 9850x3d and 32g 6400mh RAM. Should be plenty for me for years to come. Imnsuper excited but I have read that it comes woth some pre installed stuff or that there are some settings to tweak. Im not looking at over clocking or anything like that but Id like to get it to run as smoothly as possible. Looking for any advice or suggestions on what to do when I get it(about the 15th). Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thank you

EDIT: I mostly only play single player RPG/Action/Horror games and on TCL X11K with 144hz refresh.

Advice on CPU/Mobo change

I currently have a Intel I9 13900KF and Asus Z790 motherboard with an RTX 4090. Ive had it a bit over 3 years. I regularly get errors about running out of memory and "problem with the graphics card" messages when NVidia drivers update. When I bough this PC I was brand new into PC gaming and really only worked with Laptops so I have limited knowledge. Ive researched some amd apparently there are issues like this with my generation of Intel CPUs. Ive been contemplating changing to an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3d and MSI X870e Motherboard. Theres a microcenter bundle deal but I have zero experience changing out computer parts. Im wondering how difficult it would be and if it would help solve these issues or would I spending money for no reason. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade CPU/RAM/Mobi worth it?

I got into PC Gaming a few years ago. Current build has an Asus TUF OC 4090, Intel I9 13900KF and 32g 5200mh RAM. Overall it performs grear but ive been thinking about upgrading from Intel to AMD. Either a 9800X3d or 9850X3d and 32g RAM at 6000 or 6400mh. Id have to get a new mother board for AMD and was looking at an MSI X870E(or similar with WiFi 7). I think changing from a 4090 to 5090 is pointless really for gaming but Im wondering if these other upgrades would give a noticeable improvement overall or would it just be more money at marginal benefit. Knowing what I know now I would have gone AMD to begin with and a higher RAM speed. Anyway just wondering if its worth the upgrade in real world performance. Appreciate any input.

Advice on what to do with TCL X11K

Im really looking for advice on what to do with this TV. Its a 98inch X11K I bought new 4 months ago. The first picture shows a dark spot on the lower left of the TV. This was proven to be a screen manufacturing defect. It only shows up on light gray content. If its regular or white you cant see it. Its not even noticeable like 95% of the time. TCL is replacing the TV under warranty but they dont want this TV back. I have no idea what to do with it. I tried to post it on the Marketplace for $1800 but people are saying its too much for a broken TV amd I must have brain damage and 100inch TVs at Costco are $1500 with a warranty. I dont need people to be rude. Should I just give the TV away? What's a fair price? Yes its a defective TV with no warranty but its also a 98inch TV with 14000 dimming zones and 6500nits peak brightness. Does that small flaw just make the TV worthless? Honestly I wasn't even going to be upset if they didn't replace it but they are. Id like some real advice on what to do with this. Im not trying to rip anyone off but I have no room for two of these monster TVs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How is the Area 51 PC

There are some incredibly good prices on the 5090 builds with military discount. I almost bought one a few months ago but for whatever reason after like a month it hadn't even shipped. Now the price is back down and I'm considering it again. So many people seem to complain about their Alienware but almost all of them are about laptops. How are the PC desktops? Is it worth picking up. I always hear they are highly regarded from reviewers but real world may be totally different. Looking for any thoughts or experiences recently.

Are Femtosencond clock and crystals snake oil?

Ive been looking into digital streamers since I dont currently have a system that supports streaming without having my PC on. I have been told by numerous people all I need is a Wiim and re-clocker, since I dont need/want a DAC, and that it wont get any better than that signal wise. I dont know alot about streamers but HDMI, for example, it doesnt matter as long as you have a well built cable that supports the signal you are passing(2.1 for 4k/8k etc. ) so it would make sense that for digital sound it would be the same however I have seen numerous videos talking about Femtosecond clocks, crytals, reducing noise floor and jitter and that they absolutly make a difference and thats where trasports like an Eversolo T8 or Hifi Rose RS130 can sound way better than a Wiim. The price is wildly different though once you add those things in. I was looking for some real world opinions from people who have used both and if it really is the difference eits purported to be. I still feel like a digital signal is a digital signal and if you arent using a DAC how could you make it sound different? Maybe Im missing something but Im trying ro learn.

EDIT: I have an Arcam AV41/PA720 combo with Power Sound Audio 212s so its a great system. Qobuz Connect only works while I have the PC on and the Arcam IP page open. I just wanted to be able to turn on a streamer and just use Qobuz Connect from my phone. I do care about sound quality but Ive never had a streamer.

How is TCL warranty/customer service?

Im just wondering what people's experiences have been like regarding resolution. I bought a 98inch X11K new a few months ago when they were heavily discounted. I finally figured out the Earc is glitchy/broken. If I have anything hooked into the TV(DVD, PC) the Earc Audio cuts out. If I hook them up through the AVR and run Earc Audio only then it works fine but effectively I cant use the 144hz ports for gaming. Theres also a thumbprint sized dark blemish on the screen in the same place that shows up on any light colored background. I bought the TV new and bought the TCL warranty. I contacted the customer service today via chat and had to go through the whole factory reset/check and see if the problems were there, send pictures, check sound. The issues persisted and I gave my receipt and all information. They said they would review and get back to me with a resolution. Im not expecting anything honestly but if they were to replace the TV what would happen since the X11K isn't carried by the store anymore? Would I get a different TV or a credit? And if they credit is it for just what I bought it for or what the price of the TV is because I bought it in sale I wouldn't get the same level TV for that credit now. Anyway Im preparing for nothing really and just having the TV until I replace it down the road but if anyone has had experience with something similar Im curious what the resolution was. I appreciate any insight.

Downgrade from 7.2.4 to 5.2.2 or 7.2

Hello all. Looking for some advice. I have a 7.2.4 system with a Marantz Cinema 40. Ive posted pictures and several people have mentioned my heights are probably worthless being that I only have 7.5 ft ceilings and only about 15inches separating my towers from my heights. My surround heights are about 22 inches apart with the surrounds at ear level. In our old house I had a 12ft ceiling with alot more separation. I guess Im wondering If Im wasting the speakers and would be better off going with a 7.2 set up or a 5.2.2 where I would have surrounds behind me and keep the side heights. A 7.2.2 wouldn't make alot of sense because I would keep the surrounds on the side and still only have minimal separation. I can hear effects from the heights but its pretty minimal separation. Nothing like the old set up where I had alot more space. Room is 15x18 with a 4ft hallway. I recently got the PSA 212s for LCR and TV21 EO subs. Im loving the sound from them. If I went with a 5.2.2 Id likely downgrade the AVR and pick up some PSA surrounds to match. Part of my brain thinks more speakers are better and part of me thinks Im just wasting space/Money in a room this size. Looking for some honest opinions in what would sound best. 80% Movies/PC gaming and about 20% music. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hello. Im trying to see of anyone knows a good company locally that does patio repair for paving stones. We have a back patio that has a concrete porch woth paving stones around it but they are uneven. Im a disabled veteran. I cannot lift the stones and tamp down the ground to level it and put the stones back. Theres just no way. Im hoping there might be a local company that could do it and not cost $5k. We dont have a ton of money but we have a decent amount to put into it. Anyway if anyone has anyone they would recommend I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

I replaced my Martin Logan XTF100s and C100 with Power Sound Audio 212s. WOW! I cant believe how good these speakers sound. I had previously replaced 2 SVS PB2000 pro subs with a PSA TV21NEO and couldn't believe how much better it sounded. I started digging into their horn loaded Klippel optimized speakers and these are no joke. Not only are they huge but they sound unbelievable to me. They are extremely dynamic and detailed in ways Ive never heard before. The soundstage is massive. I feel like Im hearing alot of music, and movies, for the first time. Ive lost hours just "checking them out" listening to my favorites but then wanting to revisit almost every song I've ever heard just to see how it sounds. They play loud without being bright or fatiguing and beat the MLs by a mile....at least for what I like in my music. Super impressed by PSA and cant wait to build out the rest of my system with their speakers.

EDIT: The Martin Logans were just there for size difference reference. I sold them already. I dont run that many speakers lol
