New Writing Pal?? (17M)

Hello! I have just started writing my first book ever! I tried writing a book in the past before but never really stayed locked in on it. But this time I’m committed! The one I’m working on rn is a sci-fi novel. I’m doing a lot of studying for this one because it’s more of a hard sci-fi :) I also plan on writing many more books so I really hope I get better at writing and what not. I think it would be a good idea for someone who also writes to be friends with:) if you’re interested, just dm or whatever. Thanks guys 🫶

Advice🙏

I just have started writing my first ever book which is a sci-fi novel. It’s based around 2070 where earth starts experiencing space anomalies messing up with satellites, technology, and distorting space itself. Back tracking though (around 2050) a planetary geologist named Theodore Wilson discovered a new crystal like object on one of Jupiters moons Europa that can absorb a lot of energy and release it at extreme speeds. It’s called “Theodyte.” But going back to 2070, they are trying to study these anomalies to see what’s really going on. They try and create devices to study these anomalies using theodyte but as they do, they make an eerie discovery…a planetary system 2 light years away that contains planets that show signs of intelligent life. But the weird thing is that it looks abandoned. They also discovered that these planets also have what seem to be anomalies of some kind. So NASA is kind of freaking out. But that’s all I’ll say for now. I have a few problems with this. First of all I don’t know how I can start out my book. Like I want to the readers to know all of that information so they have context on what’s going on. I don’t wanna just write all the information down like a science text book and just transition to where the main character is. Also, I’m not sure with the information nasa has at the time would really call for a space expedition to where these ancient civilizations were. I’m not the greatest with science (I have been studying a lot tho ever since I’ve started creating this idea) so I’m not sure what the “requirements” are of sending an expedition there. But overall, any advice you can give I would appreciate so much. Thank you!!🫶

Advice🙏

I’m currently writing a sci-fi novel where earth experiences “space anomalies” that mess with satellites in space, mess with all kinds of technology, and cause distortions in space. But before that (I’d say maybe 10-30 years before that starts happening) a planetary geologist named Theodore Wilson discovers a new crystal like object that can absorb a lot of energy and release it at intense speeds. It’s called “Theodyte” With these new anomalies popping up, NASA wants to study and see what in the world is going on. Using theodyte, they try and make a device to study these anomalies. But as they do, they find an eerie discovery. A hidden planetary System with planets that used to have life on it. And they seemed to be really advanced. But they are gone. It seems abandoned. That’s all I’m gonna say for now. But I’m stuck on how I can start the beginning. Like I don’t wanna just write all of that down like a science text book and then transition to where the main character is. I’m just kind of stuck on how to start this so if you have any advice I’d love that. Thank you🫶

First Novel!

At the moment I’m currently writing a sci-fi novel heavily inspired by Andy Weirs work and other sci-fi ideas. I feel like I have a great idea going here and I’m really hoping to finish. Only problem is, is that I’m not a complete nerd in science. I mean for crying out loud I had a 40% F in biology in my freshmen year of high school (I got it up to a B so don’t worry) So I’m afraid I might get some science wrong, or just sound like a fool writing this out. Also this is my first ever book. I’ve wanted to be an author for a few months now but this is my first time actually pursuing the idea. So all I’m asking is for any advice or anything that can help me along the way. Thank you so much! 🫶
