So confused about difference between Grok and Cursor

I understand they are kinda the same company now, but they offer different plans? SuperGrok or Cursor Pro (etc.)

I tried asking AI this question and it failed me because of the lack of pre-training. So can someone please inform me on which plan would be useful for coding as well as the Grok app.

I'm looking for a Claude replacement (in addition to my already existing codex sub)

One injury leads to another: PT just injured me further

Ugh my body is so weak. I just strained by glute/hip area by doing 15 clamshells with a theraband (with a PT)!!

i can’t believe this. **i’m in PT to fix hamstring / quads issues which has prevented me from walking more than 50 steps without getting tired, and now i have this issue.**

I’ve had muscle issues for as long as I can remember… my body just fails under loads that are normal for someone else. I don’t get it!

i feel like it’s not EDS - i’m not flexible at all. i’m so tight.

so tight in fact that the muscles around my neck are strangling my upper extremity arms giving me thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)

i’m frustrated, defeated, and i just want to go home.

i feel so pathetic. i don’t even want to text my family that im injured again.

When am i allowed to crash out?

I fucking hate that i’m in so much pain and the bills still need to get paid.

I think if i was rich and i could pay a dedicated health advocate and dedicate 100% of my time to my health, i would be out of pain.

such BS.

Does everyone remember that eurphoric feeling when you solve a bug?

Since using claude code, I hadn’t had that feeling in so long.

Claude gave up and then i ran out of money, so i had to use my own editor to solve the bug.

Holy cow the euphoria!!! Today is a good day folks.

Good night,
One Tired MotherF***ker

HELP: Need a lightweight markdown editor with preview mode

Calling all vibecoders! Please share your suggestions.

Looking for something that's not electron based and has a preview mode. I was using MarkEdit, but there is no preview mode and I can stand all the hashtags, etc. I want to replace MarkEdit with something like it but with a preview mode.

I used Zettlr, but for some reason, when I open my .md files from my finder, it doesnt auto open in Zettlr and I have to find zettlr on my mac and open it manually. Also all the tabs and side bars are too much for me.

.md viewer is a weird app - same problem as the above and the sizing is weird.

I would prefer to not use a full IDE like VS Code or Cursor.

I don't want to pay for Typora.

I literally never write my own .md files - this is just for viewing AI generated .md files.

I do my own journaling in Obsidian -- which I don't want to crossover and use here.

People ask me how i’m so calm under pressure

i literally cannot direct my attention anywhere but my pain.

i’m not calm under pressure. i just can’t afford to be anxious about frivolous shit bc i’m barely keeping myself together.

venting post - no advice needed but if you have any it’s welcome here.

In love with the sky blue color

So happy to get my M5 Macbook Air - 16gb of RAM. i upgraded from a 2020 Macbook Pro i5 intel core processor with 8gb of ram.

I do think I need more RAM. I was so limited with my old intel that I didn’t realize how much I could do on this macbook until I got it. If I had to redo my purchase I would get the Macbook Pro with 32gb. The keyboard is also a little quicker and sturdier on the Pro.

Regardless, loving this amazing machine!!

How do I manage my juniors who have many other internal stakeholders?

First-time manager in a large organization and trying to figure out how to evaluate two junior analysts. I need help on performance evals and also how to make them feel supported.

Their work is highly distributed. they support multiple senior business leads across the firm, often on projects I’m not directly involved in. That makes performance assessment difficult, since I don’t have visibility into much of their day-to-day work and it doesn’t always feel appropriate to constantly seek feedback from very senior stakeholders.

Complicating things further, I don’t fully control their workflow. It’s common for several business leads to assign work simultaneously, creating competing priorities. I’ve largely relied on them to manage expectations and push back when needed, with mixed success.

An associate hung me up in his office

I’m an entry-level Picasso sketch (untitled, obviously), and an associate at a V10 just hung me in his office. Frankly, I’m mortified.

I was supposed to spend my life in the basement archives of a regional museum, occasionally wheeled out as collateral for an art-secured lending facility. Maybe loaned to a midsize hedge fund manager in Greenwich trying to furnish a wine room. That’s my lane.

Instead, I’m hanging in the office of a third-year M&A associate who thinks his fondue machine will bring his billables to 36hrs a day.

Do you understand how humiliating this is for me?

Partners who are actual collectors are walking by every day. And now I’m crookedly framed next to a Herman Miller chair assembled by office services.

Worst of all, the associate keeps gesturing toward me during coffee chats. Please stop speaking.

A respectable fate for me would’ve been a V69 firm. Maybe a wealth management office in Boca.

I don’t belong here. I have severe imposter syndrome.

At this point, I almost miss the museum basement.

Do I even need to learn this language anymore? the current models are so good.

I wanted to learn bc i wanted to be able to audit the code AI would write, but the way Ocaml’s compiler works, it either works or it doesn’t.

help. sorry if this post sounds dense.

Quick follow-up to my earlier post: https://www.reddit.com/r/thoracicoutletsupport/comments/1s3xq05/18_months_of_bilateral_nerve_pain_sharing_some/ about TOSresources.com .

It's a free TOS resource site I built from this sub's posts.

It started off as a simple web page with a couple of docx. files to download, and it's since progressed into a TOS hub I built in my free time.

The site now has dedicated pages for getting diagnosed, conservative care, surgery, medications, and other outreach present.

I would like to specifically call out the Literature page. I set up a script to tap into the PubMed API and call down a consolidated list of all thoracic outlet syndrome related articles. As a patient, it's definitely been interesting to read through various case studies and research reports. Without having to go to page 47 of Google. (lol) https://tosresources.com/literature.html . 669 peer-reviewed PubMed articles, searchable and filterable, auto-refreshed monthly.

Methodology - Full transparency on how the guides were built. What was scraped, how Reddit posts were weighted against the literature, and where the limits are: https://tosresources.com/methodology.html

Home: https://tosresources.com

Almost everything useful on the site came out of posts in this sub — thank you. Corrections, missing studies, or missing surgeons, send them my way. contact.tosresources@gmail.com

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a medical professional, just a TOS patient that wanted to scrape posts to get a consolidated care plan, saw that this might be useful to others, and now have had fun building this out.
