The beginning of runs need a rework
I am not a fan of how you start runs in this game, it just feels like a waste of time. The runs themselves already take upwards of 50 minutes, why do we need to sit through a section where we have no guns and we just activate two drones? Why make us run somewhere to get our initial loadouts?
You should be picking your weapon and grenade (at the same time) in the rig that brings you down to the mission, and then you should immediately start the mission. There's no need to have players run all the way to the little room to grab weapons and grenades separately. It feels AWFUL to lose a run early, knowing you'll have to boot up and wait all that time to actually play the game again. It's just unnecessary and adds nothing positive to the game.
PSA: your ability 1 and 2 are automatically assigned to your side mouse buttons
Just a helpful tip for anyone who doesn't like to use the default button combinations, just use your side mouse buttons!
This game feels so polished, and completely unfinished at the same time
I didn't buy this expecting DRG2, but the game design here makes the game feel like it never left the drawing board.
Most of the upgrades are uneventful and uninspired for a game that's based around combat.
The timer mechanic makes no sense, and is at odds with the rest of the game I feel.
Rooms and POIs feel repetitive at best.
Go in room, grab armor, ammo, purple upgrade, mine, repeat. Eventually kill a boss. That's it. That's the entire gameplay loop.
The moment to moment combat and visuals are SO polished, but the core game design currently is miles behind where it should be.
It just feels devoid of purpose, there isn't that much to do, and what you do end up doing gets old quickly.
The roguelike choices themselves need a complete overhaul, most of the time you and your team are disabling each other, rather than enabling one another. And even then you all fight over the one upgrade that isn't 'damage on Tuesdays'.
I've never had an experience with a game like this before, everything they need for success is here, the game looks polished and ready to go, but when you actually play it, it just feels unfinished. It's still frozen in the middle.
I'm not saying I need 3 dlcs worth of content right now, but as it stands the core gameplay loop is very bare, and leaves a lot to be desired. With no exciting upgrades coming your way throughout a mission, it just feels bland at the moment. There's just not all that much to do. And yeah sure, it's early access, but that doesn't excuse the state of the game currently.
When you stop blaming your tank, you will improve.
I'm a tank main, and especially this season I have been getting the blame for every single loss, no matter what my statline is. Players need to start realizing that counterswaps are real, and its not up to your tank to play mystery heros so you can lock squirrel girl, or moonknight and turn your brain off. This season is exposing people who don't fundamentally understand how the game works, and all blame gets passed onto the tank for their knowledge gap. When you start taking responsibility for your statline, and your role, thats when you start improving. Blaming a role you arent currently playing makes no difference.
TLDR: If your solo dino is playing into double tank, MK and pun, you will lose the game if you dont swap to help your tank. It is not your tanks fault.
This was a post for the main sub, but I already know all you guys feel this way too.
Iron man needs a rework
Or at least a major shakeup to his kit. You can't justify a character like him existing anymore when black cat exists in her current form. Iron man is like half a character now, compared to the rest of the roster. His rockets are the most useless ability in the entire game, bar none. He's not even really playable at a certain skill level, he gets completely overshadowed by the rest of the cast.
It's sad, I love iron man. But every time I see one, enemy or teammate they get absolutely shredfucked all game until they swap. Not to say there aren't good iron man players, because there are, he's just become extremely lackluster in comparison to all the heros that came after him.
