I fixed the Exodite Release - Orks on Dinosaurs

I honestly don't dislike the release. I like NPOs and I think the focus around growing that side of the hobby is good. But Orks on Dinosaurs! Come on man. Orks on Dinosaurs vs Elves on dinosaur! Feels like an obvious miss.

I'm sure there's a lot of marketing an analytics that goes into it but these were fun to craft this weekend. Some tweaks I need to make and reprint like the staff broke and I snipped off a jaw by accident.

I'm pretty happy with them. Probably redo the shoota lad with a better pose at some point.

An epic Calvary battle woulda been a great box but at the end of the day it's just good to see exodites getting love. Perhaps dino orks woulda just stolen too much spot light.

Zip line rules?

Has anyone made or found zip line rules?

I want to include a few zip lines in my terrain to go taller but to also encourage fast movement across certain areas that may be flooded or dangerous to pass. I was thinking that it would take an action to use the zip line and you'd just move from one side to the other. Possibly having it make it so you cannot shoot anything but a pistol during that activation.

But if there's tested rules or GW rules for it that I'm missing. That'd be a cleaner starting point.

Armored Goliath

I am very happy with how this one came out on a 4 nozzle. I may redo him on a 2. I've got 17 more to print so I've got options on my gang.

I built a bunch of terrain for the Red Terror missions

I ran mission one and then felt inspired to build out some more rocky terrain and then I went and designed and printed a bunch of mining tools and materials.

It was a very fun week of putting all this together and it ended up very scenic. The board is less than ideal for kill team but it works fine with NPOs. There's a lot less room for the volkus buildings than I anticipated so I do have to be more creative with layouts. I did mission 2 on this set and it caused me some surprising choke points that I hadn't considered.

My Spector squad is very pale. I need to get better at painting skin.

Saturnine terrain

I was always jealous of all the people who had the cash and the want to chop up perfectly good expensive models. Now I can create them with fdm and I am filled with joy and creativity energy.

I am calling this completed. I'll use it in Horus heresy as a ln objective (probably behind his head.). Like they're trying to collect parts. You can fit a 5 man squad on it so stuff like scouts or seekers fit great. A 10 man gets wonky but is doable.

I'll also use it in kill team as most bases sizes move around well on this terrain.

I also never painted imperial fists before and it was loads of fun to do the yellow and have it come out right.

I have a video where with more on the model

Wrecked saturnine wip

Saturnine whip. Going to use him as a point marker with the idea that each side would want to get the parts back to repair their own saturnine, because it's so expensive to maintain.

Planning on just behind the head to be considered the point and the rest to basically be scattered terrain

You can fit a 5 man heavy weapon squad or scouts or seekers in amongst the legs in cover positions.

Idk what did this. Probably demon given how he's torn apart

What's your favorite gun? And why

Curious question.

What's your favorite gun in Horus heresy and why?

And we have a big fan of particle shredders. They always fill me with joy whenever I can get them in range and I always make my saves I hurt myself with them. Well almost always. There was that one guy that died but we don't talk about Fred. I think they're a great piece to the Saturday night unit which I love Saturnines in general and they're a great deterrent from charging Saturnines or just getting too close to Saturnines in general.

I think it's the only gun that's never disappointed me.

A close runner-up for me would have to also be graviton guns. But I do think that my love of graviton guns will fade over the following months because right now I like them because I haven't been using them and I just started using them so they just feel fresh and fun. But particle shredders. I've been using since my first game in this edition and I just love using them every time.

Even if all the particle shredder does is keep people away from the area that I put it in. It's done its job at that point most of the time.

What's your favorite gun?

Board corner design

I'm working on a few variations of this. This one is more vertical and flat. The next will have wider layers and maybe some holes. did a lot of editing to get it to here. Pretty happy with the results thus far. May reprint with more details on the extended ledges. They're pretty bare right now. That one go back in with bits of plastic card and break them up a bit.

Tank firing group rules

Am I understanding correctly that a tank can fire both sponsons and pintle mounted weapons at different targets with no penalty?

I feel like I'm finding rules that say you fire the first shot normal and the rest as snap shots if you separate them but also that you can fire them separately with no penalties and I getting myself all mixed up.

Shrink the center column, widen the platform?

The outer circle is 6x6 already

Maybe make the center 2.5x2.5 and expand the exterior to 7x7.

I think this can still be useful on my board but it's going to be more of a walkway than a platform

Maybe it's scaled well because it doesn't take up too much space honestly. I am putting one on top of it and a ladder between. I guess a lot will have to do with how the remainder of the board is set.

First time putting lights inside of a model

Inspired by the great works y'all are always putting out. I present the bus bus stop.

I want to say it's finished but I still need to think of things to put on the signs.

Necromunda board pipe town

I am working on this board, it's very flat right now. I call it pipe town.

The pipes are very prominent. I don't have any changes in elevation but I think I want to find ways to encorpoare them. Gave raise the bar area so there's like rafters under it.

Idk if the plumbing through the middle is too much loss of line of sight across the board. The idea being that you can't shoot I to or out of the pipes. There's a "roof"

I think I'm going to end up cutting the board I to 1x1 sections so I can be spun around and probably have to add some height.

I've just been building stuff without a plan. And this is the first time I've laid it all out

Sometimes the siE 4 nozzle surprises me

Needs some cleaning up aside from myself accidentally clipping the knife in his off hand off the model it came out pretty well detailed for a size 4 print. Fdm continues to surprise

u/Soruze — 2 months ago

I have been 3d printing for about a month now and started on stuff for a necromunda board.

I am aiming for multiple levels, maybe 3, a dock for sludge rafts. I have made a bar, small corpse meal manufacturing plant, vehicle repair shop, and some vehicles.

Working on a design for some pipes that will fit miniatures through them and have removable tops so minis can freely move about the tunnels. Which will likely need to be the top level or little parts throughout the setup.

I want to see the vehicles up near a big pipe enterance like they are tunnel runners and have the docks at the bottom because that makes most sense. But I am thinking about flipping the idea and having it so that the docks could be at the top or middle because it seems very necromunda to have to go up to get to sludge docks opposed to down to lower elevation. Because it's not about elevation, it's about what pipes are traversable. Lots of pipe stuff but hopefully it's not too much.

One level will be the town and I think another level will be more scatter terrain with a tucked away section where they do the corpse meal processing.

Well, a small one. For those distant areas in the under hive where you need some leftovers processed into the good stuff.
