What’s the current etiquette for leaving an agent?

I’ve been with my agent for about 5 years… basically in the wake of the pandemic.

I know things are tough all around but I’m really not getting much from them. I get most of my own work and when they send me out, almost always to the same studio. I’m just not sure they’re equipped to sell what I have to offer.

I’ve left one agent in the past and did it via a physical letter. But not sure if that’s best anymore.

Does it have to be a phone call? Does e-mail suffice?

Would love to hear peoples experiences.

How are folks displaying their 1/12 InArt figures?

Finally getting into these with Batman and Catwoman and looking for a case that could hold a few of them.

Anybody have any experience with the Saturday BBQ at Handy Market?

I live in Hollywood but drive by the Handy Market most Saturdays. It always smells so good. I believe you can order ahead of time but is it a necessity?

Thanks in advance!

Anyone else picking up the recently announced Blitzway/McFarlane Shohei Ohtani 1/6 figure?

The deluxe set is pretty stacked too. Two uniforms, two head sculpts, bat hitting the baseball, etc etc.

Likeness look amazing from some angles, not so great from others... but overall an incredible package. The shouting sculpt could use some work but it's too iconic not to have.

As a Dodger fan and a collector this is pretty much a must own for me.

Stoked for this... I've long admired Enterbay's basketball figures but just not a big NBA guy.

Hope this opens the door for even more sports lines in the future.

Has anyone been checking out Rick and Morty?

I used to love the show but fell off hard a long time ago. That being said I'd love to support Heather and Tiger if folks are digging it.

Disclosure Day, Faith, and Spielberg's Extraterrestrial Films

Putting aside critical discourse, I loved DISCLOSURE DAY and was struck by so many of its themes.

As I watched, I couldn't help but feel Spielberg was pulling us close and saying, "Hey, you know all my extraterrestrial films? They're all really about faith."

Now, don't think I'm trying to read more into this than is reasonable. I was raised Catholic and lapsed at some point. But I still struggle with it and love aspects of faith. I believe Spielberg came to his Jewish faith later in life but was raised around Anglo-Saxon Protestants. And he also seems interested in faith and belief in some kind of higher power. Aliens are the metaphor.

Faith is clearly one of the themes of DISCLOSURE DAY, and it made me look back and consider his earlier films.

Close Encounters has many elements that harken back to the Old Testament. Roy Neary is like a prophet, struck by blinding light and given a message he can barely understand. At the cost of his family and his sanity, he follows his inner voice and ascends into the skies. It's no mistake he's watching The Ten Commandments on TV.

E.T. has so many Christ parallels. Healing and resurrection from the dead. Images evoke Christ iconography.

War of the Worlds is like an End of Days story. Who are we, and what might we become, when we believe the end is near?

I don't think he's exploring faith directly but more the ideas and optimism surrounding it. Like they say in the film… everyone wants to believe and wants to be believed.

I'd be curious what other people of different faiths think… because I don't think he's expounding one view or another, but the things that tie many faiths together. The aliens aren't literal. They're about belief in something more.

People might say DISCLOSURE DAY is simplistic, but definitely not when you look back at his filmography.

A painful reminder that rewards expire...

Hi All, this is just a quick reminder that, yes, rewards do expire.

I had been saving up a BIG chunk of points to put towards the Hot Toys ROTS Deluxe Vader.... work got busy and I forgot to check and basically lost half my points at the beginning of May.  Ugh.  100% my fault but things do slip through the cracks when life gets busy.

Just a reminder to all my fellow collectors... keep up with your points and don't ignore those emails.  Don’t want this to happen to anybody else.
