Made my own CrossFit timer after 4 years of missing beeps and squinting at tiny screens. Sharing in case it's useful.

Made my own CrossFit timer after 4 years of missing beeps and squinting at tiny screens. Sharing in case it's useful.

Hi everyone. I've been doing CrossFit for about 4 years and never found a timer app that worked for me. Two problems kept happening. In a noisy gym I couldn't hear the beep and once my phone was on the floor or across the room, the numbers were too small to read from where I was lifting.

As I'm an indie dev as well, I built one for myself. It's called Amped - WOD timer.

The things I cared about:

  • loud & very clear sounds between rounds (you can hear it over a barbell dropping)
  • big numbers you can read from across half the gym
  • being able to set up an EMOM / Tabata / AMRAP in about 5 seconds without scrolling through twelve menus.

It connects to Apple Watch for heart rate, and you can share workouts on socials if you're into that (Strava-like).

Sharing here in case someone's been looking for the same thing.
Happy to hear any feedback if you give it a try. Curious what you all use, too.

Mi sono fatto un timer per CrossFit dopo 4 anni passati a perdere i beep e strizzare gli occhi su schermi piccolissimi. Lo condivido qui se può servire.

Ciao a tutti.

I made an iOS app that brings back the ‘counting sleeps until Christmas’ feeling

Solo indie iOS dev here. I built Until: moments that matter while my kid was sleeping, and honestly the kid was the inspiration.

Watching him count sleeps until Christmas reminded me how good that feeling is, and how easy it is to lose it as an adult.

I also always wanted a nice visual place for my big trips and events, to cherish them more... Somewhere I could go back to and feel that wonder again, or look forward to what’s coming, counting the days. And a checklist for each event - very important! :) Now I have both.

What’s inside:

• Countdowns for the moments that matter

• Task lists per event

• Possibility to share events with family/friends

• Home screen widgets

• Light and dark themes

Any feedback welcomed.

Thank you!

I messed up. My app is ranked 2.7 stars.

I vibecoded Planked as a daily plank challenge app to see your progress.

It has a timer with messages, you can track your progress, build streaks and get badges.

I built it mostly for myself at first, had a few users organically, didn't think it was anything serious, didn't do any marketing, didn't even tell my friends about it.

Then I realized the app wasn't stable. So I rebuilt it properly, added iCloud sync to actually keep user data safe, and spent real time improving it. Now it's solid and I'm committed to maintaining it.

The problem: 2 of my early users (that I know of) lost all their data once they updated the app, so they left 1-star reviews. Understandably.

Would you check it and leave an honest review? I'm not asking for pity reviews. I'm asking if you think the app is actually good, so I can get back on track and start doing some marketing. I'm not trustworthy with this rating anymore, even though the app is genuinely better now.

I'm also happy to give a review any of your apps in return or free lifetime.

I'm an indie dev who recently launched my first game, and I'm hitting a wall I didn't expect.

The game: It's a tilt-physics puzzle game inspired by those old handheld ball-in-maze toys. You tilt your phone to guide metal balls into holes. Real gyroscope physics, layered haptics, 100 levels across 10 illustrated worlds. No timers, no lives, no ads, no pressure. It's meant to get your mind off things.

It's free to try (30 levels), then $1.99 for lifetime access.

The problem: I asked a bunch of friends for feedback. Literally all of them stopped at the paywall. I genuinely don't think $2 is unreasonable for a quality app. I'd pay that without thinking if they asked on the street and I'm sure they will do the same.

My question for you: Is the price wrong for this type of game? Or is something else turning people away at checkout? I want to keep it ad-free and I'd rather charge a small upfront fee than compromise on user experience. What's your perspective on this?

I'm also happy to give promo codes to anyone curious to try the full game and share honest feedback.

What's your take?
