What makes this game so special?

Seems like I went backwards in terms of automation games. My first factory game was Satisfactory (900+ hours) then I picked up Dyson Sphere Program (400+ hours) and loved them both. I don't care for the combat in these games so I either turn it off or turn enemies passive.

That being said what makes this game among, if not the most recommended factory game?

How would you get the highlighted coal and sulfur to the coast for turbo fuel?

This area is pretty rugged terrain-wise. If drones were an option that'd be ideal but that's quite a ways away for me.

Would you try to use a truck or train? If so how would you do it?

Should I just spaghetti bowl it with belts?

My goal is getting 800/m coal/sulfur to make 800/m compacted coal for turbo fuel power.

Edit - Yes, blue crater would be much better but that's reserved for a huge rocket fuel complex.

Laptop wifi not working properly after changing ISP

I recently switched ISP (from Cox to Glofiber) and my laptop won't stream Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Video. It also won't sync with Steam so I can't play any or my games.

The steps I've taken so far:

Opened cmd as administrator and flushed dns and reset the IP config (this required a restart)

I've forgotten the wifi network and set it back up

I've done a full network reset (this required a restart and this step fixed my wife's laptop connection issues but not mine)

I'm at my wit's end with this and don't know where to go from here other than a full wipe/reset of the laptop.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok building without the hover pack is honestly infuriating

I started a new save with modified space elevator parts and other game modifiers. I hate, absolutely HATE trying to build anything with any aesthetic flair to it without a hover pack. The game isn't meant to build well on the stupid ground.

I started a 10x space elevator parts playthrough

I've played through 3 times but never actually built any dedicated space elevator parts factory. It was just easier to gather the parts, shove them in a container and build them like that.

I also look REALLY forward to the new truck paths.

Just seems like no matter how many hours I pit into this game it never gets old. Love it.

Started playing again since around March

I wanted to wait till 1.0 dropped but damn this game does get a hold on you and doesn't ever really let go...

How is brutal difficulty?

I just finished the game on normal. I love this game and kind of don't want to quit playing. I thought about starting a brutal run. Is it frustrating? I was pretty ok at the combat. Adam took me about 4 tries, same with Dracula. I didn't think they were too crazy but also I don't want to bang my head against a wall for days at a time on brutal bosses.

Can someone please tell me why I push my luck with extracting blood?

Why can I not learn my lesson. "Oh I can do 3 pulls every time" NOPE you big dummy. You've killed 2 100% prisoners so far and you'll do it again.

Looking for some pve build ideas for later game (level 75 to late 80s)

I've been going through with mostly ranged weapons (crossbow then long bow then daggers). I watched a video about a daggers build that looks insane but I dont have the gear/buffs to pull it off yet and I'm doing pitiful damage and getting killed on bosses.

What would be some good builds that could carry me into the end game?

I've been looking into changing into mostly a spell caster. What's better, spell crit or spell leech?

Edit: So I went FULL into spell power/crit/leech, switched to scythe (with bonus to spell power), chaos volley and lightning tendrils. Holy shit!! What a difference. I caught a certain vampire hunter thats ?? Level and stomped him first try.

I have a silly question about Dyson Spheres

Once you build the shell and its all filled in, its done and you don't have to do anything to maintain it right?

Is there any reason to keep pumping solar sails out? I guess it adds to the total power right?

Photon miners vs regular miners

I just started producing green science and this is the furthest I've ever been in this game. I unlocked the photon miners and was so excited I traveled a few systems over just to get some grating crystals to build them.

While I was in that system it had some other rare resources I wanted to scoop up as well. I put down my miner and it captured 18 nodes (all of them) for 1650/min. I couldn't place another one down (which makes sense). However if I use the regular miners I can grab like a total of 50+ nodes which is more than one MK3 belt can handle so I split them and loaded them up into my ILS.

It seems like you can get more raw resources using the regular miners, so am I missing something with the photon miners?

What step(s) should I start proliferating?

I'm still in my starter system and I'm about to turn my lava planet into a forge world. I'm mining all the resources and smelting them into the basics (iron/copper/titanium ingots, silicon, magnets, maybe steel). I'm putting all these into a bunch of ILS for use on my home world and my ice world.

Should I proliferate the ore? Should I proliferate the ingots as they come out of the ILS?

My plan is to have a station (12 or so mk2 assemblers) that make nothing but circuits, one that makes nothing but magnetic rings etc and call those supplies locally to make the further products and so on. I assume I should spray anything coming out an ILS or PLS that goes into the crafting process?

Sorry for the many topics lately but I enjoy talking about the game and seeing what works best before I take a lot of time building a world then having to redo it lol.

Question about how to approach scaling up.

I posted a couple times recently and I restarted with the dark fog active. I'm about to unlock ILS.

For scaling up is it a good idea to gather all copper (smelted into ingots), all iron (most into ingots rest into magnets), all base materials, etc. put into ILS, pick a planet and start making every single item from all those base materials?

I just found out about few items dark fog drops at end game, is it worth it to start over with them enabled?

I came from Satisfactory where I've played all my hundreds of hours with completely passive enemies. I like my factory games to be about logistics and building. I completely turned off dark fog because of that reason but I just found out they drop some pretty good stuff. One thing being a fuel thats the best in the game.

I just unlocked ILS and most all things that need blue/red/yellow science. Just to let you know where I'm at in the game. Are the dark fog items worth starting over for?

If so can I just lower them to dummy or passive to get those items?

What's the quickest way to work toward ILS?

I've unlocked the ability to go to other planets in my system and I have a planet FULL of silicon but only like 1 titanium node, then the other is FULL of titanium but NO silicon.

Is there a way to make minimal trips between all 3 of my planets? Feels like I'm going to be a mech mule for a while and I don't really look forward to it.

I might be playing a dangerous game with my power

I want to build nuclear but I think I'm going to make a decent size rocket fuel set up so I can get a lot of quick power plus I can build a drone fueling station. I want this world to never have to worry about power ever again.

Also...I've never used batteries which is probably silly on my part but I like to live on the edge.

I made my first ever actually factory building!

This is using 1200 of the impure iron (8 nodes) at the edge of the grassy fields to make iron motors (21.6/min).

I've played over 700 hours and never done anything like this and I'm hooked. It was so fun designing the building and working with the belts within the space.

Any improvement advice is welcome. This is most definitely pretty basic compared to some of the insanely good creations shown in here.
