Hi everyone! I’ve just discovered that I have 18% of Ashkenazi Jewish roots on Ancestry. I’m so enthusiastic about this! Is there someone with a similar situation? Or someone who can explain how it’s possible to discern Jewish dna from the rest?
Hi everyone! I’m seriously considering to convert in Rome, Italy. My only fear, though, is that the local community won’t accept me. However, I always remember of the king David’s great-grandmother who was a convert, too and such thought calms me down. ☺️ Tell me about your experience?
For years, I've been inexplicably drawn to Judaism and everything related to the Jewish people. For years, I've tried to suppress this feeling, but it's coming back with renewed force, stronger than before. I've now sent in two genetic tests to determine if I actually have Jewish roots, because my logic wants to explain it to me somehow, but I realize I probably don't have any. I'm also busy compiling my family tree. I know for certain that I have Belarusian, Mordvin, German, and Ukrainian roots; no one on my female side, at least not my great-great-great grandparents, has ever had anything to do with this religion. I'd love to hear the stories of people like me who, out of a great love for this people, have undertaken an arduous but deeply satisfying journey and have finally found a home and, I hope, been welcomed as part of a family!
Da anni sono inspiegabilmente attratta dall’ebraismo e da tutto ciò che ha a che fare con il popolo ebraico. Per anni ho cercato di reprimere questa sensazione ma fuoriesce con nuove forze, più forte di prima. Ora ho spedito due test genetici per capire se ho effettivamente radici ebraiche perché la mia logica me lo vuole spiegare in un qualche modo, ma capisco che potrei probabilmente non averne. Ora sono anche impegnata a compilare il mio albero genealogico, so per certo di avere radici bielorusse, mordvine, tedesche e ucraine, nessuno fino ai bis bis bis nonni dalla parte femminile, perlomeno, ha mai avuto a che fare con questa religione. Vorrei sentire le storie di persone come me che per un grande amore verso questo popolo hanno intrapreso un cammino arduo ma molto soddisfacente e hanno finalmente trovato casa e, spero, siano stati accolti come parte di una famiglia!..
Hi all! I need to ship back my dna kit from Rome BUT Poste Italiane doesn't ship DNA stuff so I went to a private postal service and they told me that the cost of a DHL shipment will be lime 70 euros! that's a lot considering that there are people telling they've shipped from Brussels at less than 2 euros. I cant find their contact email or assistance anywhere and that's soooo frustraiting!! I need help!!
