I mean both generation from generation and within a single generation. I think the differences are most noticeable when you compare evolution lines or, like in my attached image, original beyblades and their homages.
As far as we know we don’t have any fictives, but we sometimes like to share quotes from media with each other. There are definitely some we use more than others. It’s also common for the quotes to be used in a metaphorical way. When quotes come from TV the quote is usually played as a clip with both visual and audio. It’s fun, but it also makes it harder to tell who played the clip. I thought it was mostly all different headmates using clips for communication, but after taking some time to write out a bunch of common to semi-common examples I realize it’s mostly the humorous one. I also realized we share a lot of Seahawk clips.
