Emory Boards?

Does anyone know of any type of emory board that can be used to sand a smidge off of some stainless? The amount of work it will be doing is very small, but I would prefer something on a stiff backing - as opposed to emory cloth. I plan on using them as part of a product, so I need buy them in bunches and I need them to be cheap.

I can make emory cloth work, but looking to get something a bit better with regard to having a flat, rigid backing.

Any ideas?

So, I tried this new device from CalMagFix.com and gotta say I liked it.

I tried one of these new fixed mag compliance devices from CalMagFix.com and it was exactly what I hoped it would be. It is a device that retains stock operation for my AR when I need it, but allows me to be compliant in California. Seems well made and the company seems legit. Just wanted to let you all know about it.

The UFC fighter who called Michelle Obama a man the other day needs to get sued. I have started a petition at Change.org to gather signatures to send to her in hopes of finally putting these jerks in their place and hopefully end some of the trashy behavior of the right in the country.

https://c.org/KLP5k5mp4G is the link the this Change.org petition.

We need to encourage Mrs Obama to sue this guy into oblivion. She wont want to, preferring to keep a stiff upper lip knowing that they guy that said it is an idiot - and I get that.

But, that strategy isn't working and hasn't been for years. We need to hit back, SHE needs to hit back.

I know she doesn't want to get involved in politics, I get that too, but she has a golden opportunity to start a revolution where we won't let the right spew their filth like this. We need to encourage her and show her that we are with her on this.

The time is now and PASS THIS PETITION TO NON REDDIT FOLKS!

EDIT - I have been looking at some of the comments here and I am kinda disappointed in some of you. This is not demanding Obama do anuthing, only showing support and encouragement. It is not trying to shut down free speech as defamation isnt protected. etc, etc, etc.

Also tired of the 'let's be classy crowd' sayign ignore it. Ignoring it didnt work and isnt workign now. These people need to get hauled in front of a judge.

THANK YOU! To this sub for helping me out with my new fixed mag device and CA compliance.

A few weeks ago, I posted my new device's website to this sub looking for comment and people to throw stones. You guys responded and helped me out a ton with some great insight, information and ideas. I have since updated my website and I am willing to share what I learned with anyone out there that might be struggling with CA compliance and other related issues as it pertains to getting this workign on websites. I was able to...

  • find a shipping solution that works with well with Wordpress/Woo Commerce that allows me to legally ship to California
  • install a verification service that appears to be pretty decent
  • find a CC processor that won't kick me out for selling something gun related
  • start building some custom code that reminds me to check the verifications before shipping for CA addresses because I keep forgetting to do that.

Happy to share any and all details with anyone that wants them.

And to the number of folks that purchased one of my devices, a special thank you, and I hope you are enjoying it.

Please don't send me a chat to discuss this unless you have to, just post your comments here.

I have seen a great deal about AB 1263 regarding 3d printing, milling and also about new ID requirements, but I have seen very little about Section 2 of that bill. Looking to see if anyone out there has any insight, opinions or experience with this part of the bill? I am particularly interested in the 'foreseeably promotes' phrase from part B. I am having a real tough time wrapping my head around that one.

The text of part of this section I am interested in is as follows...

(c)

A firearm industry member shall not manufacture, market, import, offer for wholesale sale, or offer for retail sale a firearm-related product that is abnormally dangerous and likely to create an unreasonable risk of harm to public health and safety in California. For the purposes of this subdivision, the following shall apply:

(1)

A firearm-related product shall not be considered abnormally dangerous and likely to create an unreasonable risk of harm to public health and safety based on a firearm’s inherent capacity to cause injury or lethal harm.

(2)

There shall be a presumption that a firearm-related product is abnormally dangerous and likely to create an unreasonable risk of harm to public health and safety if any of the following is true:

(A)

The firearm-related product’s features render the product most suitable for assaultive purposes instead of lawful self-defense, hunting, or other legitimate sport and recreational activities.

(B)

The firearm-related product is designed, sold, or marketed in a manner that foreseeably promotes conversion of legal firearm-related products into illegal firearm-related products.

(C)

The firearm-related product is designed, sold, or marketed in a manner that is targeted at individuals who are legally prohibited from accessing firearms.

Over the last year, I have developed a new solution for the fixed magazine crowd and it is unlike anything else out there. I did it because I was not satisfied with the devices currently on the market and decided to build a few and see what people think. I am very interested in hearing what this sub might have to say before I run wild with it.

Basically, it is a switch that is accessed by opening the action. In one position, you have a fixed magazine, in the other, you are back to stock operation.

It isnt exactly comparable to AR Mag Lock, its different. My guess it that some will still prefer the ARMagLock.

The other comparable system is the FNGR system. This is comparable to that, but I think this is done better in a couple important ways.

EDITTED to add that the number of views resulting from this post is causing traffic problems on my website. My apologies, but please be patient or try again later. I will look into upgrading my server very soon.
