Inspired by a number of sources including Blood Diamond, Black Hawk Down, and various reference photos of actual 90’s rattle can jobs. Used Krylon flat black, dark earth, olive drab, and army green. Absolutely loving how it turned out!
Thought it’d be fun to feature my rifle on a fictional magazine cover! Any other Mini lovers out there?
*First picture is the finished stock project fully assembled, NOT a rendering or photoshopped concept design*
This one took about a month of various design iterations and searching for parts that would all work well together and truly enhance the Ranch Rifle to be a more modular platform. The actual modification of the stock took about 6 hours of measuring, sawing, sanding, and chiseling to fit perfectly with the grip adapter.
- ERGO Mossberg 500 AR grip and buffer tube adapter
- Driven Arms Co VCG
- Magpul MOE TR
- Monstrum red dot and rail
Yet to do:
- drill stock fore end to accept short picatinny rails on sides and bottom to mount grip stop and flashlight
- Accuracy systems adjustable gas block
- Barrel shortened and threaded
- Quiet can
Hey all! I’m new to Maryland, and coming from Georgia is a bit of a gun law whiplash. I’ve read the copycat laws and think I have a pretty good understanding of what I can and cannot do, but I wanted to pick your brains for this specific configuration: Mini 14 ranch rifle with a non-folding telescoping buttstock and pistol grip from Choate. As far as I am aware, because it is not an AR platform the heavy barrel law does not apply here either. I understand this does not replace professional legal council. Thank you for your input!
Forgive me father, for I have sinned… but I blame the lack of modular stock options out there!
- Ergo Mossberg 500 AR buffer tube adapter
- Brownells mil spec Buffer tube
- Driven Arms Co VCG
- Magpul MOE TR
- Lots of measuring angles twice, careful sawing, filing, and fitting
Next will be a barrel chop down to about 12.5 inches and threads added, adjustable gas block, and quiet can.
