front pieces separating right after washing hair??

so idk if I would classify my hair as ‘greasy’ but I use the L’Oréal shampoo for greasy hair anyway. I clarify with shampoo once a week and apply conditioner only to my ends. I literally have to clip my front pieces to stop them from separating but even that doesn’t help.

I really need advice cause I lowkey look so stupid with these little separated pieces and they make me look so greasy even after i JUST showered😭

Are my D and A string in tune? My tuner keeps telling me they are but they sound off

My A and D string sound really off despite both my tuners saying they’re in tune. D especially sounds off

THE cello practice routine that helped improve your playing

Grade 4 cellist here finding it hard to build a good, consistent routine that actually improves my playing. Any advice/and or what your cello practice is like?

What do these numbers above the notes mean?

I’m trying to practice a piece from the ABRSM grade 4 book during summer break on my own (my teacher is off during summer) but I don’t understand what the numbers above the notes mean? I’m assuming fingerings but I’m not sure exactly what position it’s trying to tell me

D peg slipping when tuning

Hi all,

My D peg keeps slipping no matter how hard I press into the cello when tuning. It doesn't happen on any of my other strings to it's really frustrating

I heard you can put some chalk or paste on it but that requires taking the peg and string out of the peg and that's way too complicated for me and I feel like I'll just end up making my problem worse.

My normal luthier is off ill at the moment so I can't take it to her. Can I take it to any music shop near me and see if they can fix it? Would it be costly? (I live in the UK btw)

Any advice would be really appreciated :)

Shaker exercises?

Hi guys,

I had 100units of botox done with Lucy Hicklin about 5 weeks ago and I haven't really had much progress aside from a lot of microburps and a few 'normal' burps

She recommended I try shaker exercises like turning your head left and right to help the burps but when I do that nothing happens. It almost feels like me doing that actually makes the burp less likely to come up as the gurgling sort of stops when I do that

I've also been trying fizzy drinks but they just make me bloated. Not sure if I'm not drinking the rights ones or I'm drinking them too slow

Can anyone recommend some other shaker exercises for me to do? I know there are others I'm just not sure which ones would work for me or not

4 weeks post-botox and still not burping properly

Hi all,

I had the 100 units of Botox done with Lucy Hicklin nearly four weeks ago now and I still am not burping normally.

I have a lot of micro burp, gurgles and a few ‘medium’ sized burps but they don’t really relieve my throat nausea much. I was experience micro-burps even before the Botox however, don’t know if that makes a difference

I’m still not at the stage where I’m consistently burping like a regular person and the burps actually relieving me of my trapped gas and nausea.

Is this normal and/or expected? Should I contact Lucy about it? I’m really really anxious about it as I’m really worried the Botox hasn’t worked and I’m gonna be stuck with this constant throat nausea/gagging sensation

Any advice would really be appreciated

Why is my hair suddenly getting greasy so quickly?

Hi guys,

I never use to have really greasy hair until like day 3 or 4 of not washing my hair. now literally the morning after washing my hair the grease starts to show, what's happening?

my face framing layers especially get really greasy quickly and start separating not even a few hours after which makes it look like I haven't showered even tho i literally showed the night before (avid night showerer)

I use the aveeno volumising sulfate-free fine hair shampoo + conditioner and clarify once a week. i also double shampoo and dont apply conditioner to my roots. I also blow-dry my roots and make sure they're 100% dry before going to bed

I really need help here as I'm tired of looking like a dirty bum when I've LITERALLY just washed my hair🙏

Two weeks since 100mg botox injection, when will i start seeing full results?

Hi all,

I had the 100mg botox injection done with Lucy Hicklin two weeks ago today and I've yet to start consistently doing full, relieving burps. I've been doing a lot of micro-burps and a few burps that were semi-relieving. However, even before botox I was micro-burping a bit so I don't really see much change.

Is this normal for my timeframe? Is there anything I can do to boost the process like exercises or drinks? I'm kinda starting to panic a bit.

Thanks :)

Worried the 100mg of botox won't work

TLDR: Worried the 100mg botox injection won't work due to unsuccessful 50mg injection, any advice and positivity to calm the worries?

Hi all.

I had the 50mg botox injection done in March this year and I have to say, it didn't really do much. After the injection, I had about a week or two of very loud gurgling in my throat which I thought meant the botox was working and it made me hopeful. However, three months have passed and nothing really has changed. I still have constant throat nausea at the back of my throat and the inability to do relieving and normal burps

I'm doing the 100mg injection with Lucy Hicklin this Tuesday and am hopeful but also very anxious. I'm worried that the 100mg's won't work and that I'll basically be stuck with this for the rest of my life with no relief. The fact that the 50mg did do something (the gurgling) gives me some hope, but I just have that lingering anxiety about the what ifs and such

Any advice from those who had the 50mg injection and didn't have much success but had the 100mg injection and did? Some positivity would really calm my nerves haha!

Hi all. I’m basically looking for a concealer similar to that of the nyx bare with me one, I.e a liquid water based concealer but in a lighter shade. This concealer makes me look SO orange and it just looks jarring on my face compared to the rest of my skin tone

So my teacher notated the piece I’m doing a few days ago but I’ve completely forgotten how many fingers I’m suppose to put down and which string. I know it’s upper third and second on the first and second picture but I’m not sure which finger it is and the string, as positions change what the notes look like on the sheet unfortunately

I added the full piece at the end if it makes it more useful :)
