I can find loads of natural or artificial dyes that are entirely plant based but never see any that list their product as cruelty free. Do products with such labels exist?

I've seen a couple guides to get the game working on Steam Deck with proper steam input - I for the life of me can't seem to emulate those steps for Windows 11 with a Steam controller.

• The All in One Launcher immediately disassociates from Steam as soon as it's finished launching, and the game will not launch within Steam, but will launch outside of Steam.
• The AotR Launcher immediately disassociates from Steam as soon as it's finished launching, and the game will not launch within Steam, but will launch outside of Steam.
• BFME1 launches as-is in Steam if pointing directly to the game, but Steam Overlay and Steam Input do not work - the controller profiles I select prior to launching the game don't interact with the game (not an issue with the profiles themselves I assume, but something to do with how the game isn't properly tying into Steam Overlay or other Steam services).

I have tried:

• Reinstalling games & launchers
• Setting to single core CPU
• Setting Windows Compatibility Mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3
• Closing Steam & relaunching with Administrator

How is everyone getting the steam overlay to show up as intended and the steam input to work as intended? Am I missing something?

Edit: It's a bit of a workaround, but I found a solution. Though I now for whatever reason can't even launch the game in Steam - SISR works both in and out of Steam. Steam Input is now working exactly as intended.

Edit 2: I lied partially. setting up via SISR when the game is launched outside of Steam does not produce virtual menus visuals (the virtual menus are still technically working but are not visible on-screen) - everything else however seems to work.

If anyone has any deeper insights, I'm looking for a layman understanding. It seems like this device has opened up in ways never thought possible or at least practical.

For anyone that might have greater confidence in answering based on the SDK specs:

- 1 of 2 PC ports of symphony of the night just released. Is a modern port PC port able to make the move?

- What of other N64, or PS1 PC ports?

- What of fan games Like sonic robo blast 2?

I know the agg23 NES core gets a perfect 128/128 via AccuracyCoin. Can't expect that level of perfection for everything!

What do users here know of for other cores from an accuracy perspective? Does anyone have any metrics or insights that are more data driven? Feel free to chime in with any known metrics for any single core.

Yada yada controversial guy yes lets skip that part! What I'm here to discuss is valid argumentation for finding the purchasing of these products agreeable while simultaneously finding Lucky's other pursuits and their outcomes disagreeable.

As far as I can tell the most upvoted post regarding the normalization in purchasing modretro products (for those who would have a problem with Lucky) seems to appeal to a 'but you have a phone' and 'all capitalism bad' kind of argument. As a Vegan I hear this crap all the time and I'd like to highlight why this does not work and provide a better alternative argument.

My issue with this argument is thus: not all capital transactions carry the same moral weight. If I was buying a personal human slave (and it was legal to do so) and someone wanted to call me out or correct my behavior it would be rather obtuse to say something like 'but all capitalism is bad so what's the diff? you buy a phone and some corpo nonsense (that you don't support or intend) is enabled through slavery and your dollars.' It's an argument that suggests you should be able to basically do any transactions you want because other bad stuff outside of your control happens that you disagree with. I for one, oppose normalizing and purchasing any product you want just because no legal enforcement mechanism is stopping you. I actually do put the onus on slave buyers for choosing to buy slaves - call me crazy.

There is however a better alternative argument to be made for purchasing these products. And it is this:

There is no evidence that buying these gaming products in any way increases the output of Lucky's military contracts or research divisions for those products.

To give a Vegan example (because I can't help myself), if I buy an impossible Whopper at Burger King, from a business perspective, it makes absolutely no sense for Burger King to put those profits into beef products that there is no customer basis for. That is just being dumb with money. Moreover, just like modretro products, there is no capital surge created by plant product purchases to move into the selling of animal products. This is largely true of niche product purchases, regardless of seller.

So all to say, in no way is purchasing a standard chromatic product an endorsement of or financial support for Lucky's military activity or his military products. Anduril edition is an arguable endorsement, but let's be honest about intent of the buyer it's largely for aesthetic and practically no one is going to suddenly support anduril as a result of the witnessing or using of that chromatic product. Could always find a way to remove that text too.

It is maybe arguable that FPGA programming in this context helps train staff for FPGA on military hardware but it is my view at least that FPGA programming requires expertice that will be sought elsewhere, and in any case it's a hard sell to put that hypothetical on the consumer.

It is also maybe arguable that purely on grounds of needlessness you should avoid these products because of the seller/producer, but that argument can extend in every way imaginable even including things like buying a cucumber. Much like no wide availability exists for stores with no animal products - no alternative exists for this exact kind of gbc recreation product. You could play the games another way admittedly, but not without integer scaling (often imprecise), pocketability size differences, or degraded build quality. Like I don't just want any cucumber, I want english cucumbers.

Anyway, I think this is worth considering for any modretro purchases or purchasers. I'm in analogue world and plan on staying there (and would frankly recommend it for most people), but the chromatic has great aesthetics, is very durable, and has arguably the most frame to screen accurate FPGA gbc out there. It will probably work until we are old as shit, and keeps this kind of experience alive.
