I mean obviously the traditional belief is that "you just played all the pink units you don't deserve to win", but aside from Street Demon and niche situations like Mountain Stargazer (where you don't even really play Stargazer units) going full vertical is like *terrible* like so bad it's not even on any tier lists.
For some reason I just don't feel like that's correct tuning. I think that if you get like a REALLY good Blossom spot, an early Sett or Ashe and hit the correct items for all of your tanks and carries it should at least be, I don't know, somewhere in the B tier
Yes, currently there is a comp called "Spirit Blossom" in the B tier, but you play 5 of them and it even suggests you drop Karma and Yorick later.
Units like Lux make this feel extra weird. Like you go 9 and play 9 Blossom (7, Lux and a +1) and it's worse than just playing a bunch of 5 costs. The hard part of Fast 9 is being able to go 9 and playing strongest etc, not unit choice it's basically set in stone what 5 costs you want to put together, so if you can go 9 on Elderwood or Blossom vert AND hit a Lux that fits your board shouldn't you be like... pretty strong?
I get that pivoting into a lot of splashed traits is fun, but isn't there room for both to be strong depending on the situation?
You play for a 250 cashout and you hit the 20% at getting a TAILORED LUX to fit your exact existing board, you're promised insane essence farming rates and tons of future cashouts...
with a 5.7 AVP.
Even if you cash out and immediately switch to Morg, you're still more than likely bot 4ing.
The 375 cashouts are even worse. They require an augment and fairly good play and as a reward you have a 17% chance to recieve a 2*... Draven? I hope you've been itemizing your Caitlyn?
2* primary carry of premiere fast 9's has a 2.9 AVP because he's a random Coven cashout.

Don't worry, if you manage to hit the 2* Morg 2* Sentinel + Radiant Lucky Chest AND you're smart enough to use the Radiant chest on a caster instead of Morg herself so you dodge Titan's Resolve and BT and all the other nonsense it recommends for her

Listen, I think Anima was absolutely unfun last set. If nobody full opened against them they were looking at a 1.5 AVP, and if you DID full open against them you were looking at a 6.5. The math didn't add up and it was extremely unfun.
But in the current state, playing Coven, any variation of Coven with basically any and every exit strategy is just a recipe for failure. It's a bait trait, and it's a shame because aesthetically it's one of the few I'm personally drawn to in this set.

I don't see why "flex" is so popular. It's literally just playing an opener but instead it's for the entire game and then you transition into a bunch of 2* 5 costs and just throw items on whoever and win the game.
It seems like any time a reroll comp is even remotely competitive with these 5 cost slop boards it is considered broken and nerfed into the ground. Trynd reroll in 16, Kayle in 18.
I skipped 17 but I heard people were upset saying "another reroll set???" because of 17 but just before that you had SEVEN of the top 10 performing boards being some variation of "lol just play strongest board and put 5 costs out there"
I would love for someone to explain to me why you can pick an econ augment, playing strongest board to conserve HP and then improv the late game with whatever you happen to have and think you don't deserve to lose to the person who commit to a line on stage 2/early stage 3, lost HP while building the board, optimized items and augments, etc.
It's a really really low key feature, it's like a bottom of the notes page on the wiki and I haven't heard much about it and it's one of the things I think has the most potential for the future of FFXIV
What I assume it's gonna be is something close to "VFX Mods" where they basically make a brand new job within the same job. I don't want to advertise mods here, but a lot of them are really, really cool.

A Mogstation, full rework of Viper that turns it into a Roxas style keyblade warrior.
Here me out: Keyblade Wielder will never be a fully fleshed job. The Disney red tape is too thick and you'd need to go through it consistently if it was a full job. Disney also wants to get PAID and how do they make money off a job? How does Square decide how much money the Keyblade job existing has made?
Easy solution: Charge 50 dollars for this Roxas thing and then give Disney like 25 or 30 dollars and pocket the rest.
What do you think it is? Do you think it's something completely different from this? What do you want it to be, and if it was mogstation full reworks, what's your dream?

-Have Delvers Journey above 9 and spend Untainted Mana Crystals on specific items you choose
OR....
Do literally 20 Tier 5 ritual sites and get a box for ONE item of ANY slot with 0 dupe protection.
