Cardinal scalloped platter set for my mother and sister. I rolled out several slabs and formed them to fit certain dishes. I used a scalloped border cutter for the scalloped detail.
Amaco glacier celadon x2 over mayco fundamental underglazes x1 coat and wiped back with damp sponge.

One year difference with an 8in chop between photos

I’ve been desperately trying to get back to having long hair for a few years now, but after years of intense damage I just wasn’t retaining length.

Last year I started doing a wavy hair routine, and when asking for advice online I was met with many comments suggesting a good hair cut, specifically a curly cut.

I went to a new stylist who chopped around 8inches off my hair, and I was so heart broken to have “short” hair again, but now I’m ultimately happy that it was cut.

Side by side photos show significant damage and thinning to the ends and mids last year compared to my fuller hemline now.

I also no longer do a curly/wavy routine and instead just allow my hair to air dry and I wear it natural.

Fresh blowout after a trim

I’ve been on my hair growth/health journey for a couple years now. I started coloring my hair in high school, and after several times of bleaching, going dark, bleaching, dark, etc. my hair became super damaged and would keep breaking off. I kept chopping it shorter, but continued to damage it, so I never saw the results I wanted.
I also used heat constantly on my hair for at least 10 years before I finally started just letting it be natural.
Now I’m about 1/2 way through the colored hair, and it’s started to slowly get some length.
I had some scraggly ends and took about 2 inches off today, and I’m so so so happy with how it’s looking 🥰
This is after my stylist washed, trimmed, and blow dried my hair with a round brush.

Recommendations for backs for standard studs?

Two weeks ago, the unthinkable happened for me.
My antique pear rose cut diamond stud was missing. Luckily I had been sick the entire weekend that it went missing, and after searching multiple times over two different days, I found it hidden on my bed frame under the mattress and box springs.

I immediately went searching for guardian backs in the size for my studs, and found some in 18kt yellow gold to match. I spent $250 on them thinking these surely would solve the problem of ever losing them again.

Well, this morning at work, I again noticed the exact same stud was missing. I searched for hours at work retracing my steps throughout the facility, with no luck.

I left work, and while leaving the parking garage, the sun shined through my windshield and produced a glimmer next to me. My antique stud was miraculously on my passenger seat. I never found the guardian “locking” back.

Although I’m upset about the wasted money on the back, I’m more happy that I found my one-of-a-kind stud AGAIN. But I’m still terrified to wear these earrings on a daily basis. I’ve never lost a single earring before, and now it happened twice in two weeks!

Does anyone have recommendations for TRUE locking backs, to ease my mind when I do eventually wear these?

I’ve contemplated turning the posts into screw backs. I’m not sure what the best/safest option would be.

Recommendations?

Ceramic cardinal dishes

I made these for my mother and sister ☺️
They’re going to get them as Christmas gifts!
The two square plates and large scalloped platter will be a set for my mom, and the two smaller platters will be for my sister.
Our family has a big connection to cardinals, so when I found the textured roller online I knew I had to buy it :)
Underglaze in the texture and wiped away, then a celadon over top.
Last photo is my first attempt, with an additional celadon coat.
