I graduate next spring 2027 with a BA in psychology and work as a EMT. I wanna apply for the Amazon area manager l4 role. My question is, does major matter when it comes to the bring the hiring process or they perfer college hires with business related majors.
I’m eligible for work study and my semester amount is 600. I was accepted a work study job on campus which requires me to have work study for the job. My questions is I can do it work till I reschedule my 600 limit or can the Uni job extend it etc.
Is there a specific degree requirement to become Amazon area manager?
I’m the daughter of immigrant/traditional (from India/hindu) parents and sometimes I feel guilty talking about this because my dad is not a bad person at all. He loves me and cares about me deeply. He’s never abusive at all. But growing up, I’ve always felt uncomfortable wearing certain clothes like shorts, tank tops, or even doing things like painting my nails because I know it would be judged or seen as “wrong.”
It’s hard to explain because it’s not really fear of my parents as people — it’s more the culture and expectations around being a “good daughter.” Even when other girls my age wear those things normally, I feel anxious or ashamed doing it myself. My parent care deeply about my education and ever since I got to college I’ve been comfortable wearing simple things like shorts and even tank tops etc.
As parents, how do you decide where the line is between guidance and control? Have any of you realized later that certain rules affected your child’s confidence or comfort expressing themselves?
I’m currently a EMT-B. AEMT school is 1800 and paramedic school is 12k in my area. I’m 20F . I get aid for paramedic school through fafsa. But I’m leaning towards AEMT since it’s 4 months why Paramedic school is 18 months.
My mom recently got a letter from ICE Non-Detained telling her to report in person. She went, gave her identification and paperwork, and cooperated fully. She has a valid work permit, pays taxes, and has lived in the U.S. for 24 years without leaving the country ever. She also has two U.S.-born citizen children who have the privilege of leaving the country and seeing their mom’s home country.
After the appointment, ICE told her she now has to wear an ankle monitor 24/7 until her next immigration court date, which isn’t until 2028.
She has never been arrested or committed crimes, so our family is confused and stressed about why this happened. Has anyone else experienced this or know why ICE would require an ankle monitor in a case like this?
