TCM perspective on dry body and very dry eyes at night?

I’m looking for a Qigong/Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective on something I’ve been experiencing.
At night, when I’m sleeping, my eyes become very dry, and I also feel like my whole body feels unusually dry. I’m curious whether, from a TCM/Qigong perspective, this could indicate some kind of imbalance.
Some background:
I don’t eat refined sugar.
I don’t eat wheat.
I don't eat industrial seed oils.
I don’t smoke.
I don’t drink alcohol.
I exercise regularly and strength train.
I generally eat whole foods and plenty of vegetables, protein, nuts...
The dryness is particularly noticeable at night.
From a Qigong/TCM perspective, what kind of imbalance could potentially cause this?
And what Qigong practices, breathing exercises, lifestyle changes, or dietary approaches are traditionally used to address this?
I’m also interested in hearing from people who have experienced something similar and what actually helped them.
I’m looking for perspectives, and I’m open to both traditional explanations and evidence-based explanations.

Can You Build Muscle While Doing Regular 2+ Day Fasts?

I’m currently 36 hours into a water fast, the longest I’ve ever done. It’s definitely challenging, especially since I’m only in my second week of strength training.
Seeing people on this subreddit complete 10, 30 and even 40-day fasts has been incredibly inspiring and has made me want to explore longer fasts myself.
My biggest concern is muscle growth. My main goal right now is to build muscle, and I’m worried that doing regular extended fasts (for example, a 2-day fast every week or gradually increasing the duration) could slow my progress or even cause muscle loss.
Has anyone here successfully built muscle while incorporating extended fasts into their routine? How did it affect your strength, muscle gains, and recovery?

Good news: Phone customs fees are much lower now!

Why are we paying customs fees on phones in the first place!
We don’t manufacture phones in Lebanon, so what exactly are these customs fees protecting!

I was pleasantly surprised today. I finally paid my phone customs fees, and it came to only $33.50.
I was worried it would be much higher.
The LibanPost employee told me the fees were reduced about a week ago.

Has anyone else paid recently? How much did you end up paying?

🚗Why isn’t 🚙 🚗 carpooling 🚙 a big thing in 🚕 Lebanon? 🚗

With fuel prices, traffic, and everyone trying to save money, I’ve always wondered why carpooling never really took off in Lebanon.
It seems like it would benefit everyone, yet it still isn’t very popular.
Is it because people don’t trust strangers? Safety concerns? Privacy? The lack of a reliable app or active groups? Or is there something cultural that makes people avoid it?
Would you use carpooling if there were a good platform or active groups with verified users? Or would you still avoid it?
Also, if you know of any really active carpooling apps or Facebook/WhatsApp groups in Lebanon, I’d really appreciate the recommendations.
I’m genuinely curious. It feels like Lebanon could really benefit from a stronger carpooling culture, but there seems to be something holding it back. What do you think?

I think I adopted a professional napper. 😴

My new stray cat has been with me for 3 days now, and all she does is nap.
I guess she finally feels safe enough to rest.
She still doesn’t have a name, but she’s already acting like she owns the place.
✅ Sleeps everywhere
✅ Eats
✅ Plays for 2 minutes
✅ Disappears into blankets
I don’t have a single photo of her awake yet. Like… no proof she’s ever been awake. 😂

Has anyone in Lebanon received this customs fees SMS for their phone?

I received this message, did you actually have to pay?
If so, how much did you pay, or roughly what percentage of the phone’s value was it?
I’m trying to estimate what to expect before going to LibanPost.
Thanks!

Bala manyake!!! I asked Google AI to guess my country and sect from my face alone… and the result shocked me.

I uploaded a photo of myself to Google AI and gave it this prompt:
“what’s his ethnicity, your best country guess and try to compare with other guesses and your best sect guess, based on the person alone don’t look at anything else in the photo except the face don't use the ip or the location or anything related and talk about his ancestry.”
The highest probability result was:
Lebanese - christian and maronite!!!
That honestly blew my mind.
I expected something broad like “Levantine”, and I just wanted to try, but I never expected it to narrow it down to a specific religious community as its top guess.
I know it’s just making a probabilistic prediction, and it could easily be wrong for other uploaded photos or other many people. Still, it’s fascinating and a little unsettling that AI has become good enough to infer sect patterns from one uploaded photo.
Has anyone else tried this? How accurate was it for you?

Anyone here did a Master’s in Fine Arts at the Lebanese University?

Hi everyone,
I’m applying for the Master’s in Fine Arts at the Lebanese University, and I was wondering if anyone here has been through the admission process.
To be honest, I’m a bit stressed because I’m running late and only have two days to prepare my portfolio. I’m starting from scratch, so I’d really appreciate any advice.
I’d love to know:
What did you include in your portfolio?
How many artworks did you submit?
What kind of work were they looking for?
What was the written exam like?
What should I expect in the interview?
Is there anything you wish you had known before applying?
Any tips, examples, or even photos of your portfolio (if you’re comfortable sharing) would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks a lot in advance! I really appreciate any advice.

Tired of pills for respiratory allergies. Has anyone actually healed them?

I’ve been struggling with respiratory allergies for years, and honestly, I’m tired of relying on pills and temporary symptom relief.

I’m looking for people who have significantly improved or even eliminated their respiratory allergies through lifestyle changes, diet, breathing exercises, TCM, acupuncture, qigong, or any other natural approach.

From an energy or chi perspective, what is usually considered blocked or out of balance in people with respiratory allergies? Has anyone worked on those imbalances and seen real results?

Has anyone actually improved respiratory allergies long-term through fasting?

I’m not just talking about symptom relief during fasting. I mean real... lasting improvement after the fast.

I’ve noticed my symptoms get better while fasting, and I’ve been reading about histamine in food possibly being part of the issue (since some foods are high in histamine or trigger histamine release).

Has anyone here actually seen long-term changes in asthma or respiratory allergies from fasting (intermittent, extended, water fasting, etc.)?

And if so, did anything else contribute (like diet changes, gut healing, or environmental changes)?
