This is my 1989 300D S124 I bought 2 months ago, had been sitting for 10+ years. All maintenance made, new alternator and battery. Looking to fix the odometer which currently doesn’t work.
I want to turn this vehicle into a overland-like tourer, what mods would you recommend that are both useful and look cool, like adventurous.
Alternator died and battery eventually died too, copious amount of smoke coming out the exhaust, dropped all the coolant in a random street and off she goes to the workshop.
Owning classic cars is not boring for sure 😭😂.
Hi y’all, just bought my second ever car (and second Mercedes after my W201) and went for this S124 300TD. What things should I look out for.
There seems to be no a drop of rust in the car and engine sounds super healthy, sitting at 333.000km.
I know it’s probably a mix of various cars but I think it looks most similar to a 90’s Mercedes Benz S124 or a 1986 Chevrolet Caprice Station Wagon.

Hey guys! I know this is the W201 enthusiasts group but I’m looking for outside opinions, I have a 1990 2.3 8v in pretty good condition with around 243.000km. 5 speed manual, AC and armrest are the “extras”.
I was recently offered a straight swap for a 1989 S124 300TD with 320.000km, automatic and working electric sunroof, no rust too.
Has anyone owned this model? I’m kinda curious for trying out new cars and how does it feel to live with a S124 Wagon so I just want some second opinions and if they are “worth” the same amount of money.
Hey guys! So long story short, I only had one key for my 1989 190E and my backpack got stolen with them inside. Does anyone know how can I get a new set of keys? Can I go to Mercedes and have them make new ones out of my VIN number or something like that?

Hello guys! I’m looking to buy the 16V’s front bumper for my 2.3 8v but I’m worried it won’t line up with the wheel’s overpass (I don’t know if that’s the name in English but its what has a circle over it) has anyone done this modification? Do you guys have pictures on how it looks?
