To book the manta ray night snorkel!

Our trip is the first week of September. (I've been reading about Lala's impacts. We're from the Gulf coast of the US, so we're no strangers to hurricanes and their impacts. Our hearts go out to all those going through recovery and clean up. It seems likely that we'll be able to do this activity by then--if I can convince him!)

My husband was hesitant due to the price, and I feel like the YouTube videos I found of it are underwhelming. I think it'll be totally different and awe inspiring to view in person.

Can anyone give perspective on how great it was? It seems like THE THING to do in Kona. OR if you found it lacking in some way/not worth it, share that too. I know everything in Hawaii is expensive, but this excursion is a lot more than we'd normally pay for a vacation activity and I guess I just don't want to have buyer's remorse.

I'm rereading WaR and wondering why Feyre went with Azriel to retrieve Elain? It seems like Azriel was able to hide in his shadows and did all the heavy lifting, and Feyre's magic was almost spent.

Was this just a plot reason to show Feyre having mercy on the human and to show Tamlin switching sides? And to show Hybern's army since we're limited to Feyre's pov?

I may have just answered my own question, but what do you think?

Is the Kona Brewery Tour worth it? It's $25pp and it looks like we get a tour + 16 oz. in beer samples. My spouse and I have been on a lot of brewery tours in a lot of different places. Has anyone been and can say if it's unique enough to warrant the price? Usually for that high a price I would expect a souvenir glass or something.

My 4yo boy is obsessed with his soft/ fuzzy fleece and micro fleece outfits from winter. I have had to take them out of his dresser for the warm weather season. Has anyone ever seen shorts or shirts made out of this style of material? Or is anyone familiar enough with sewing to know whether I can just cut those types of material? There is still a lot of summer in our warm weather climate and I'd love to find some of these if they exist.

Just a fun hypothetical...

I'm rereading ACOTAR (so spoilers for future books are fine but my memory for details of other books will be hazy at best). I got to wondering, do you think Amarantha would have honored the terms of the curse if Feyre had said, "I love you" in time?

I was so agonized on my first read through that if Feyre had just said it the book could have ended and no UTM and no series, just a nice little romance novel. (I get that it's for plot purposes, but it's still painful to read.) But on my reread I was thinking, "Nah. That b*tch would've totally reneged like when Feyre beat the last task."

What do you think? Is there a plausible loophole Amarantha would/ could have used?

This is so nitpicky and not a major spoiler, but is there an equator on Erilea? (Like the planet/world for ToG?) In the southern continent, Nesryn sees different constellations like you'd see in the opposite hemisphere on Earth. But they are also experiencing the same seasons as the characters on the northern continent, which on Earth should be opposite if you're on an opposite hemisphere.

Is this just a mistake, or what do you think is going on here?

I know the tandem read has some fierce supporters and opponents, but I wanted to offer an alternative. Especially on a reread when spoilers aren't a thing, has anyone read ToD and then EoS?

I'm rereading Heir of Fire right now and am noticing a lot of parallels between Nesta and Aelin. I see a lot of hate on other subreddits for Nesta and the way she treats other characters and the IC and their treatment of Nesta. But I don't feel like I see a similar critique of Aelin in the self-destructive depths of her despair or Rowan's treatment of her in HoF. Maybe I'm just missing it? Maybe ACOTAR subreddits are more toxic than TOG ones?

For the record, I think all the characters have their despicable moments and thoroughly love SJM's characters' redemption arcs.
